The IGR of Lagos - at over half a trillion naira - is almost 25 times higher than Abia. This minus federal allocation o.

Yes, we commend Sanwolu, but given the enormous resources at his disposal, he can actually do a lot better.
Politics › Re: FG Fails To Pay Allocations Directly To LG Accounts Months After Court Judgement by alezzy13: 10:29am On Oct 19, 2024
Chisave:
But sincerely speaking, what is tge noise about LGA autonomy. From the breakdown of the allocation, LGAs will be getting N329bn, we have 774 LGAs, averagely, each will get N435m. Can this even pay there salary especially their numerous ghost workers.

The good thing i see about it is tgat it will solve ghost wotkers issue as the LGA chaitman will be in charge and know everyone to their home and can easily walk into any office at anytime. They will definitely drop many workers that are always idle doing nothing, reporting only once or twice a week, gossiping about every trending news.

They will still want to do one or two projects, so they will have to cut down on unnecessary expenses.

I even feel this is one of the issue OTTI of Abia state is having with them. Having numerous people on the payroll with nothing to show for it. Come for capturing and verification, they won't come. Just idling away at the LGA Secretariat.

Infact I feel this LGA autonomy will allow State Government to work more as tge burden of paying the LGA workers will leave them and they will concentrate on various state ministries only which will be manageable.

I think this is the reason why many of them are approving the 70k minimum wage now. This are people that many of them weren't even paying the previous 30k minimum wage

Anyway shaa make God shaa help us in this country
Great points, but let's be honest, about 400m is not small money - yes, even with the current realities. Don't forget some of them get additional revenue in taxes from markets, transport garages, etc which are under their control.

What judicious use, they can actually use the funds to better the lives of people.

Politics › Re: Newly Elected Benue Local Government Chairmen Sworn-In By The Governor by alezzy13: 7:01pm On Oct 07, 2024
Kudos to Benue state.

And like his Rivers state counterpart, governor Alia has also been at loggerheads with Akume. However the latter, unlike Wike, has not allowed his ambition set the state aflame. For what it's worth, this is commendable.

It's instructive that APC won all seats, who are all basically Fr. Alia's people.
Politics › Re: Shake-Up: 11 Ministers, Senior Official May Go As Tinubu Reshuffles Cabinet by alezzy13: 3:07pm On Oct 07, 2024
I made the post below weeks back when the shuffle was first announced. So the truth is, one doesn't need to 'shout' about achievements: they will always announce themselves.

For instance, as controversial as Wike is, there is consensus he is performing.

For me, Edun has been one for the biggest disappointments. For all the hyping, it's clear he doesn't have what it takes to move this economy forward. There is urgently need for fresh ideas in that sector. Some have also argued Cardoso needs to go as well.

Lol. This is hilarious. They are shy because there is nothing to talk about.

Personally I will categorize them to 3:

1.Those with passmark, just three of them: Umahi, Tunji-Ojo and Wike (yes, he is controversial, no doubt, but few would are argue that he's made impact on FCT)

2. Those just occupying space. No impact, nothing. The bulk fall in this category. Finance, budget, etc.

3. Then the last batch are actually moving backwards, eg. defence, humanitarian affairs.

God1000:
I don't know how I feel about this, APC shouldn't be winning elections considering the the untold hardship they've brought upon nigerians

This is why INEC should be given the power to conduct Local Government elections in Nigeria, the state electoral bodies are at the beck and call of the governors
It have very little to do with central APC, but more about the popularity of the governor.
Politics › Re: A’ibom Gov Names Daughter To Oversee First Lady’s Office, Dismisses Remarrying by alezzy13:
Totally unnecessary. And coming so soon after his wife's unfortunate demise? Haba!

This whole first lady charade needs to stop. It's nothing short of a distraction and needless waste of resources.

Like someone rightly noted, Fr Alia of Benue has no first lady, but that has not stopped him from turning the state around (at least compared to his predecessor who was a total disaster)

phantom:
But idiots think he fell from heaven.. 😂

Even way before this .. he was recommended by the same Senator Mbata he's quarrelling with today to Peter Odili for Local Govt Chairman.

PS: Little kids who don't live in Rivers state are trying to rewrite history... those of us born and bred there will sit down and listen to you spew nonsense 😂..
Now listen or read...

1. Wike was recommended by Senator Mbata to Odili for LG chairman obio akpor and Mary Odili took him as a son... her pet project to make sure he became chairman. That's the same woman he's abusing today.

2. Amaechi made him his chief of staff which was well deserved considering the role Wike played in helping the former reclaim his mandate at the courts after the whole OBJ 'K-leg' brouhaha

3.Amaechi recommended him for minister when he was becoming too over bearing in Rivers state. He was so notorious that he could stop Amaechis convoy so that he could sign any document he wanted. He was and still is a rascal.

4. He didn't want to leave RS for FCT to be minister because he was nursing a governorship ambition and was unhappy with that recommendation. He capitalised on the beef between amaechi and the Jonathans at the time to further his ambition and warm his way into PEJ heart leading to the events of the video you watched up there.

At every step of his career, he was helped by someone... Funny thing is, EVERYONE who has helped the charlatan, he has fallen out with.. EVERYONE.. no exceptions!

Thats the idiot that is talking about loyalty and gratitude today... 😂

On a serious note , we need to check the mans sanity.. we may think hes just a stubborn, bold individual meanwhile the fellow could be suffering from straight up schizophrenia or Bipolar Disorder. He doesn't talk like a sane individual.
Hmm. Interesting

Much ado about nothing.

FYI, I abhor his policies and governance style not least because of the pain it is causing Nigerians, but criticizing his vacation choices does not cut it.

Like any other citizen, he is free is go on leave to any place of choice. Tbh I don't see the issue here lipsrsealed

It will not.
They are trying as much as possible to discourage borrowing money from banks by making it expensive but then, it will slow down economic growth.
On the other hand, they are also discouraging people from investing in TB by lowering the coupon.
Aim and objective - for people to bring out hiding money to invest in physical business in the country to boost economy.
How effective this will be, we will see
Hmm.

Moreover since other FG instruments e.g Treasury bills havent had such delays, I really don't think there any need for panic.
