Well thankfully no fatalities,.but we pray for quick recovery of the injured.

However the whole situation looks murky. The report claims they made away with 3 Ghana must go backs filled with money! Who in the day and age still move about with such large amounts of cash??

Then the person was reportedly trailed by the robbers in a, wait for it - Venza!! Haba. This smells like a shady deal gone wrong. undecided

The governor should set up forest vigilante groups and arm them with AK-47 and 2 magazines each.
Then set up a control center in each Local government and mini post in each town.

Then in Markurdi, set up a Legal team to back up their activities then a compliance/ disciplinary team to check their excesses.

Give them good monthly allowance and health carecare insurance.

He can't spend up to 30percnt of his security vote in doing such.

The state already has vigilante groups, but unfortunately nothing like AK 47 for them. Meanwhile the bandits come brandishing sophisticated automatic weapons

Not that it really matters, but Jarus claiming to be more popular than Seun is wildly hilarious.

Like someone said, that points to some insecurities on his part.

.......It is yet to be ascertained why they were deported. The angry deportees narrated their treatment, alleging they were unfairly treated in the European country. According to them, they were detained by the Turkish authorities for over 11 months before being deported.....

***Turkey is not an European country.

Turkey is partly Europe and Asia, however they tend to identify more with Europe hence their attempts to join EU.

It depends on why you want to buy.
The bank's books look healthy:
PE is just about 2.5x (Q1 '24 annualized, avg price of N10)
gross earnings and net earnings are both up about + 100% yoy
PBV is 0.69x
Total assets are nearly $5bn,
shareholder's funds at about N467bn,
I do not have the NPL figures but I expect it's under 7%

However, I should add that while these numbers are cool, there are banks with even cooler numbers. some with PEs as low as 0.3x, and PBV of like 0.25x.

The risk of license revocation is almost non existent for FIDELITYBK as the bank isn't in distress., maybe highest, they may sack the bank's management if anything(like MD and CBN director are dragging land grin grin).

When Skye Bank went under, the terrifying numbers had been showing in their books for years prior.
Heritage Bank isn't publicly traded, so their books weren't as open, But anyone who know the history from OmegaBank to SpringBank to Enterprise Bank to Heritage Bank should have said "That's not why I came to Lagos grin grin"
There's still another bank that has been operating without any money of their own (negative shareholder's funds- they are deep in debt) for years now, the mystery of why that banks keeps surviving regulatory hammer is only understood by nigerian poiliticians.

Hmm. Interestingly GTB has sent me offer to invest in thier shares. I still dey look am with one corner eye sha. Stocks not really my thing

The banks are not sending some individual bids through them so that you can buy secondary market from them. And I have told them I will not buy any secondary market. The difference between the primary offer and secondary offer by bank is big income to the banks.
If you don't get me primary market. I move my cash to another bank or into something else.I can't be your mugu

Honestly this may not be far from the truth.

When I tried enquiring why they werent successful, was told they intend to process individual bids of only 50m and above.

Of course I know that's not true: I've heard that many times in the past, depending on the branch one visits. But eventually I still get my offer processed at the primary mkt, (i.e less than 50m they were calling).

Apparently they are stylishly trying to discourage it. angry

Nonetheless I couldn't wait for next week, so I eventually took their sec mkt; 19% for 365 days>

Career / Re: Sexual Harassment: More Women Testify Against Ibrahim Lamuwa by alezzy13: 9:17am On Jun 17
Some of his alleged crimes against the labour union as listed in the petition include delay in payment of some benefits, delay in promotion and conversion of staff, lack of transparency in posting exercise, delay in paying of clothing allowance, discrimination in paying First 28 Days Allowance, lack of fairness in the distribution of the 2024 Hajj seats, inadequate posting of Batch B officers to foreign missions, poor sanitation and hygiene due to insufficient water supply, lack of work tools, dilapidated office buildings, refusal to pay the 25th regular course allowance for nine months among others.

Slight digression:
Na wa oo. All these things they are blaming on the perm sec. Never knew he's so powerful.

Which begs the question, if he has all.these responsibilities what does the substantive minister then do

Meanwhile, states that paid wage awards for one to four months and stopped include Delta, Niger, Plateau, Kaduna, Bauchi and Nasarawa

Delta has no reason to be on the list. Thier federal allocation is the highest in the country. Even more than Lagos.

Yet you go to the state, there is nothing to write home about

Well. I don't like Wike anymore than most of you, not least because of his pomposity and needless interference in Rivers state.

However we have to admit he's revamping FCT. To rule over the city with so many big men and varied interests requires balls, Wike fits this.

Lobatan!!! NLC Strike Episode 2 loading.
We all saw this coming. After all, N62,000 is higher than N60,000. Isn't it?
Shebi it was National Grid they shut down before. This time around, dem go kuku disconnect all the electric poles join. Let's see how this movie would eventually play out.

On a more serious note, NLC should make more pressing demands beyond minimum wage that affects the entirety of the Nigerian population, not just the civil servants and salary earners. How about insisting on government tackling the inflation rates and high cost of living, price regulation of goods and services, reducing the electricity tariffs, creating enabling policies for business owners and ensuring the welfare of every Nigerian.

Your second paragraph is good on paper, but it's actually beyond the scope of labour. Don't forget Obj took them to court of this issue, and I believe he won.
