Politics / Re: As Aba Takes A New Look by AlfaPrime: 10:00pm On Feb 22, 2008
Bigmodo, sorry to present another view, but I think U could do with a little more of positivism here. U've not been able to counter point by point, the issues raised by Germannig.

Politics / Immunity Clause To Be Removed!? by AlfaPrime: 9:22pm On Feb 20, 2008
Hey, Landers! Pls Your distinguished views are needed on this all important and presently raging topic of whether to expunge the IMMUNITY CLAUSE from the Nigerian Constitution during the expected constitutional ammendment/review. what do we think? will it strengthen our fight against corruption or is it gonna open up the polity to lots of chaos and what have u?
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: The Truth About Job Search Scratch Card by AlfaPrime: 9:13pm On Feb 20, 2008
Tegga, am afraid U may not get a favorable response to yopur request. truth is that Jobsearch scratchcard guys are simply out to make their millions off our backs. am not against anyone making money but NOT at the expense of the poor unemployed graduates of Nigeria. how many banks and other companies and even multinationals have conducted numerous recruitment exercises in the past 1 year, without asking one to buy any silly jobsearch card? evfen for any few that they eventually call, it's almost like a lottery, where u're sure that very few out of those who play stand any chance of winning, simply cos that's the way it was designed in the first place.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Exxon's Interview Structure by AlfaPrime: 9:19pm On Feb 19, 2008
At your service, Pisky. Wish U all the best. the company is the largest and foremost oil giant in the world. (tho in NIgeria their operations are second to that of Shell) U're in a for a great career if you're successful.
Business / Re: "You Can't Ban Spraying, It's Our Culture" - KSA To Soludo by AlfaPrime: 4:43am On Feb 19, 2008
Much as we may hate to see it this way, truth is that spraying of money, culture or no culture, is inimical to societal development. it's simply a way out for those bent on having an ego trip. the sooner it's stopped the better. we shd begin to see money sprayers henceforth as sort of barbaric.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Exxon's Interview Structure by AlfaPrime: 9:17pm On Feb 18, 2008
Coolsmile,
like I said, it's a scientific approach, it's not just a matter of having a general method. there are hard and fast rules about this BEI stuff. I talked of anticipating the questions, that means that rather than prepare yourself to answer the usual abstract questions about what u hope to do in future, concentrate on recalling what u've successfully done in the past and finetuning your answers to give urself a really good sell.
here's wishing all the candidates a great success.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Exxon's Interview Structure by AlfaPrime: 8:43am On Feb 17, 2008
Well, Pisky, now that U've given the necesary details, here's something to help U:
The interview U'l likely face is one known as the BEI, i.e, Behavioral Evaluation Interview. it's a new scientific method of interviewing that relies on what U have done in the past in trying to predict what U'd likely do in a given situation. In order words, for eg,. rather than ask U " What would U do if you're the only one that came to work on a certain day?", they'd probably ask U something like, "have U ever been the only one at work before? When was this, and what did U do that day?"

Another very common ex is that rather than ask you, "what plans/ideas are U bringing into our company?" U'll be asked " "Tell U what original idea you have ever brought into a group you worked with" or "Tell us about when U ever showed a desire to work independently" or " Tell U about when U were ever disappointed with your performance"

The trick to this is simply to ANTICIPATE the question and have an already prepared TRUTHFUL answer! Note that it is a scientific exercise, so it's not all about whether the panelists like your face or not. they're going to be writing down your answers for review later on, so note that in subsequent interviews, your responses must be consistent with previous. that way, all lies and inconsistencies which automatically disqualify one get exposed.

Finally, make sure U dress smartly, preferably a white top, get a quality briefcase (even if U have to borrow to buy one!)and ensure U look unruffled, no matter what. Intergrity ranks tops in the company's values, so note that U must show an appreciation for laid down processes and regulations in your answers.
if u have any more questions, U can always get back to this forum.

Cheers!

Jobs/Vacancies / The Truth About Job Search Scratch Card by AlfaPrime: 5:56am On Feb 16, 2008
Hi Folks,
Am sure U've all been hearing about this Jobserch scratch card advert. I understand it sells for N500, but I really wonder if its ethical for someone somewhere to take undue advantage of the hordes of unemployed masses of Nigerian graduates to make his own millions. What do we really think of it? Does anyone on this forum know for sure that it works? or know anyone who got a job thru the scratch card? If not, then I suggest we simply ignore that. I still wonder y it's even being advertised on Radio Nigeria. When the govt knows fully well that it shd be doing more to provide jobs!
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Exxon's Interview Structure by AlfaPrime: 5:44am On Feb 16, 2008
Which Exxon are U talking of? for such info, U shd be detailed enough to mention the job position and particular ExxonMobil subsidiary offering it, even if not the interview date, in order to get proper assistance.
Islam for Muslims / Re: Is Islam Imperialist? by AlfaPrime: 5:18am On Feb 16, 2008
Focused, you're quite correct and factual in your submissions, only that U failed to explain why we don't have so many "African Arabians" who are descendants of African slaves captured by the Arabs, U know, just like we have African Americans, Research has proved indisputably that the simple reason is that, while the western slave traders allowed their African slaves to at least marry and procreate, the Arabs made sure they castrated their African slaves! Thereby adding to the other evils of slavery, the anguish of loss of manhood and hope of a family life.

Now judge that.

Religion / Re: What Do Arab Christians Call God? by AlfaPrime: 1:16pm On Oct 27, 2007
I still maintain the simple but profound truth that the Muslim deity and the Christian God are 2 separate, distinct beings. never mind what the arab Christians call God. Actually, recent research has shown that the actual name for God in arabic is NOT Allah but "Lah", that's a general word.

one thing u shd all recall is that Mohd in his propagation of Islam by Jihad first of all sought to wipe out all contrary views as to his belief in Allah, and not even the Muslim scholars will deny that there once existed several versions of the quran until one of Mohamed's descendants and successors destroyed all others and upheld only one.
the differences btw the 2 are so vast that there is really very little meeting point. The Bible came b4 the quran, and inseveral places in the latter, Moh'd actually pointed his followers to Jesus as an example they are to follow.
Religion / Re: What Do Arab Christians Call God? by AlfaPrime: 9:56am On Oct 25, 2007
yes, U may be rite about that, but that's simply because of the prevailing diction. it's a well known fact that the allah of the muslims and the Jehovah God of the Jews and Christians CANNOT be the same Person.

Politics / Re: Nigerian Ex-Governors On The Run! by AlfaPrime: 1:57pm On Jun 09, 2007
the fact is, there's always more to these so called EFCC reports than meets the eye. it doesn't pay to simply assume that someone is a thief just because EFCC says so.

besides, as competent in his profession as he may be, one thing we must all agree on is that RIbadu has a tendency to be a bit too flippant in his speeches.
