Love the new poltical board, much clearer, can you do the same with the comments

the comments are not well organised, it would be nice if you could organise the comments just as the political board.
FamilyRe: Help! My Husband Wants Me To Change My Name From Ndidi To Sinmisola. by aljharem(m): 7:14pm On Mar 12, 2012
afam4eva: She can be given a new Yoruba name but it should never replace her original name. That's madness. That's probably the only thing left of her Igboness.
What are you talking about Afam. The husband never tried to replace her name in her birth certificate or something, I am sure he only called her Sinmisola because he loves her not because he wants to change her first name.

Would her ID card read Sinmisola or Ndidi ? Of course Ndidi

The OP is just a tribalist that reads meaning into things and she does not deserve a marriage because A MAN AND A WOMAN LIVE THEIR PARENTS HOUSES TO FORM ONE FAMILY.

She should call him Emeka as well and it should be expected they both laugh about it.
FamilyRe: Help! My Husband Wants Me To Change My Name From Ndidi To Sinmisola. by aljharem(m): 7:10pm On Mar 12, 2012
KINGwax: you're an id¡ot, and so inexplicably senseless for a married woman. Your age should be like 21yrs or so.
'this is why u love nairaland'? For bigotry and tribalistic reasons abi? You think nairaland will fix your childish marriage if their stup¡d ideas finally break it?
You knw? I've seen natured people post real problems and sensible people has helped them solve serious marital issues with helpful responses.
But here, u exposed d stup¡dity and immaturity in your senses by bringing this kind of issues on board wit no real sense of solution. You're a waste
Thank you, in the world today, we have too many da.ft people living among humans.

I can really imagine calling my wife Halinat and she makes it a big deal huh

Knowing how insecure her people her, she then decided to bring it on nairaland.

@ OP

If you cannot get over something as silly as this, then my advice for you is to break your marriage because you have already suspected your husband to be a tribalist like you.

Break it and go tell your people that you broke your home because he called you Sinmisola rather than Ndidi. Aturu ewu
FamilyRe: Help! My Husband Wants Me To Change My Name From Ndidi To Sinmisola. by aljharem(m): 7:05pm On Mar 12, 2012
afam4eva: This is one of the reasons why i don't like Igbo ladies marrying from outside Igboland. They go never to come back. They lose their identity, Igboness and all the characteristics that comes with being Ada-Igbo.

@OP
I think you married a tribalist who likes you but hates your heritage. You should never change Ndidi for anything in the world. Next time he calls you Simisola call him Okogwu. By the time this goes on for some days he will cease to call you such.
It is a shame that even you are talking like an Illiterate.

When the white people came, you easily adopted Allison, John etc what is wrong in adopting your husbands heritage ?

A Yoruba woman married to an Igbo man from Anambra is called Chioma today because that is what her husband wanted and she accepted it. Why can't they just laugh about something as trivial as this ?

What a shame, OP you no like am, break up you marriage then rather than share your happy marriage fun afire out for the world to see.

Dude, you are such a pathetic fool.
Is Ohaneze a governor or representative of a political party?

Go graze with cows. Your mates ain't here.
You are a goat which is worse, an ordinary governor of a state or a whole social-cultural group.

You sir are da.ft. When did Aregbosola become a representative of ACN ? Goat or maybe you missed the Ooni part of the article.

Moreover, what do you expect Ooni to do ? Chase them away ? you think we are animals like you ?
FamilyRe: Help! My Husband Wants Me To Change My Name From Ndidi To Sinmisola. by aljharem(m): 6:28pm On Mar 12, 2012
fellis: I noticed that the yoruba people are the ones saying she should accept the name. . . . . . .
It is not only yoruba people but intelligent sensible people would advice her the same. She call him Chukwuemeka as well. It is a marrage for crying out loud not a girlfriend thing.

You people are hypocritess

@ OP

I pity you,
PoliticsRe: Aregbesola,Ooni, Sultan, Bayero, Others Renew Calls For Nigeria’s Unity *nigeria Can Be Great. by aljharem(m): 6:20pm On Mar 12, 2012
Beaf: Then tell Aregbesola to burn his rusty flag and to stop chatting shiit.
Aside from that, he should stop sinking the SW with his foolish courting of the core-North that the entire Middle Belt and South have rejected; if not Oodua republic will become a prison that oppresses those who should be benefitting. There are easy ways to make indelible enemies, the easiest being to cosy up to opressors and parasites like a puzzy.
So what are you saying ? If the Sultan want to talk, they should not allow him ?

Did northern representatives not visit Ohaneze just last week ? Why did you not chase them away. you bigoted mumu.

Who have rejected who ? You must be dreaming
FamilyRe: Help! My Husband Wants Me To Change My Name From Ndidi To Sinmisola. by aljharem(m): 5:55pm On Mar 12, 2012
akpanbaba: My sister use your head and watch out because some of your advisers are waiting for your husband to throw you out and they will gladly change their names to Sinmisola just to marry him.Shine your eyes well well.
good afdvice and I hope the OP listens to you
FamilyRe: Help! My Husband Wants Me To Change My Name From Ndidi To Sinmisola. by aljharem(m): 5:52pm On Mar 12, 2012
Ndidi, Listen to your husband. It is a sign of acceptance, you are not the first person to change the first name and you would not be the last. I am sure you would be quick if he called you "Jolie", "Natasha" etc you would even accept "Christian Names" but cannot accept Sinmisola which is a beautiful name IMO.

Do not let tribailism and pettiness destroy your home. I am Muslim but is it not your Bible that says A man and a WOMAN would leave their parents house and become one . From the day you married him, you have to drop your Igbo identity, From the day he married you should have dropped his Yoruba Identity.

If he calls you Sinmisola, then call him Emeka etc and you should both laugh about it and be happy. Call him Emeka infront of your own parent as well. That is love, that is a marriage.

You feeling uncomfortable because he called you sinmisola is a bit da.ft and childish on your part, even worse you brought the topic to Nairaland like it is an issue worth talking about.

Call him Chukwuemeka and let him call you Sinmisola and laugh about it and you should both be happy you call yourselves that. That is what a marriage is, where you become ONE. Not Igbo and Yoruba.

Such pettiness. angry
Nairaland GeneralRe: Occupy Nairaland by aljharem(m): 12:38am On Mar 12, 2012
Seun and co, Kilode has told you the Ododo oro (true yarns). A word is enough for the wise. The more I see the website, the more I want to stop using Nairaland

What you could have done was a slow change thus by gradually introducing these features, people might not even be complaning like this.

C'mon I love this site and yes I am addicted to it, this new layout would cure a lot of addiction for people. I can tell you for a fact.

Revert back to the old layout, carefully think on how to go about things from the OLD layout, Plan well and infact do a survey to see people's reactions.

Just don't go ahead to do what is on your mind !!!!
PoliticsRe: S-south Youths Urge Oil Firms To Relocate Headquarters To N-delta by aljharem(op): 11:48pm On Mar 11, 2012
DaLover: look at this boy ooo, so you want to turn truths on their head because you need to prove a point, na wa oooo,
I live in delta state and i am from there so stop shamelessly saying rubish, to top it, i work with an IOC there so i know where oils is from and where is not from,
urhobos are the largest group in delta state with 8lgas share warri central lga with ijaw and isekiris, igbos(anioma)are next even with 9lgas, ijaws are next with 3 lgas to themselves and share 3 warri lgas with isekiris, isokos have 2. while isekiris u claim are the majority dont even have a complete lga to themselves,

Majority of the oil in delta state is located in the ijaw and urhobo areas, chevron operates most of the isekiri fields and they are few in number,

stop the lies, we know you is who. there is no confusion here, oil companies shoukd relocate over here to give the communities better value
Can you stop your rubbish, Ogoni land has the highest oil reserves followed by Itsekiri land Avocados. Go do your research but coming here

Urhobo land has NO OIL

Anioma Land has no OIL

Agbor Land Has no Oil

Ilaje (10 %) Itsekiri (65%) and Ijaw (25 %) In the whole of delta state

Again go do your research.
