My brother.... That car is a beautiful car no doubt. But its Achilles heel has always been its engines. The 2.4 GDI is bad(Jonathan). the 2.0 Turbo is a disaster(Buhari). In fact it is rare to see a 150,000 mile 2011 Hyundai sonata with its original engine.

The engines are not durable. I would advise you to save up some more and get a 2012 Toyota Camry of better still, a 2013 honda accord(my love)

My own engine knocked at 58k mile.. had to buy another engine

That car is good and has high performance but pray your engine no knock.. once your engine knocks, you have to cough out over a million naira if it’s turbo engine .. the Gdi engine is quite expensive

Mechanical engineering is broad.. you can specialize in automobile engineering, aeronautical engineering etc…

Is it possible you get admission for msc without a transcript? Submitted my bsc certificate and waec certificate to the school and an admission was offered..though my transcript is in processing and might take a month to deliver at the school in Poland

Obvious you don’t know much about the car.. most car brands also face recalls for one issue or the other.. no need to argue as I use sonata myself and I bought it after a friend’s recommendation and close to a year now no issues.. engine still perfect …. The only advise I can give anyone buying sonata is to go for ones with lesser mileage .

I know but the way people just condemn sonata without having a first hand experience.. I use a sonata myself and I have no issues since October last year.. the car just needs proper maintenance and don’t even use it on bad roads

That’s the issue but just drive carefully on bad roads.. the ground clearance is too low though.. but I like the sonata for the performance.. buy the SE with turbocharged engine and shift paddle

Really? Thanks guys but no one gave particular reasons. My friend uses the 2015 model and seems to be enjoying it.

It's funny how Nigerians rely on just Benz, Honda and Toyota out of the many brands out there.

Anyway, I will tread carefully and do plenty of more research.

I use the 2011 sonata SE and enjoying it.. shipped in October 2020 and no issues… just maintain it well and use it on good roads.. service it when due
