Politics › A Grear Quote From A Great Man by AljUche(op): 4:01pm On Mar 26, 2011 |
I have never regarded myself as having a monopoly of wisdom. The trouble is that when most people in public life and in the position of leadership and rulership are spending whole days and nights carousing in clubs or in the company of men of shady character and women of easy virtue, I, like a few others, am always busy at my post working hard at the country's problems and trying to find solutions to them,
Only the deep can call to the deep."

jason123: No, they should vote for the right person. Everyone in Lagos votes for the right person not necessarily according to ethnic affiliation. Igbos will not bring tribalism to Lagos, I hope not sha. No one wants to be an out cast in a sophisticated society like Lagos.Infact, most igbos in Lagos do not listen to this Ohaneze and co. They usually vote in the same pattern as yorubas. because they dire not, that is the reality forget internet, if there is an igbo governor in lagos the reaction might be good with the locals or very catastrophic lagos is a very delicate balance been fuelled by the fact that igbos are not shouting too much if they like what ohaneze is doing 2002 what happen to us will happen as well to the igbos in lagos forget silly words like "we would stand and fight etc" they know better than that if they stand it would be a very very sad sight for them very soon there would be an igbo governor in lagos but not yet |

EzeUche_: Please. I have seen many Igbos in the corporate world in the United States. My cousin works for Goldman Sachs as a financial analyst and I am an intern at investment banking firm in Washington DC. So please do not tell me Igbos are not in the Corporate world. Remember there are more Igbos in the United States than Yorubas. wrong wrong wrong where did you get that from |

Adelaide2: Recently I was discussing with my maternal uncle who is a DCO (divisional crime officer) in the police force in one of the popular states/city somewhere in the East (names withheld) and he told me that during the course of their interrogations of arrested kidnappers in the East, they found that most of them were those who lost their businesses to Fashola's bulldozers and had to return to the East. Without any job or money to start a new business, they took to crime. Asked why they did not remain in Lagos and do their crime there, the kidnappers claimed Lagos became too hot because of the security measures put in place. So Fasola destroyed as many Igbo businesses as he could and then tightened the security in his state knowing that an angry and hungry man must take to one crime or the other.
Other anecdotal evidences supporting these claims are:
1. Imo Gov Ohakim, on a visit to Lagos, once said that crime in the East took a rise when Igbos lost shares in Banks based in lagos
2. The story in this link (main point quoted below) http://www.punchng.com/Articl.aspx?theartic=Art20110324139459 my friend nchara ramon ndo ooo welcome back |

So, federal character means to extract oil from Igboland and SS, and allocate 5% to the areas producing the oil, while allocating 85% to areas not contributing a dime to national coffers? That, in your opinion, is federal character?
Need I say more. no no u are getting me wrong the south is well developed unlike the north as some of you people claim therefore it would only make more sense to put more allocations to the north at that period so the country can be levelled |

Beaf: No surprises.
Buhari is one of Nigeria's worst ethnic bigots, everything around him screams, ethic bigot. Wnen he carried out his coup, he locked Shagari's Igbo VP in Kirikiri, while Shagari (a Fulani like Buhari) was kept under very plush conditions under "house arrest" in highbrow Ikoyi. and was that not duing miltary rule u do it as if buhari is one monster that hates other groups can you compare him to the worse ethnicily bigoted person in nigerian presidential history which is who u support jonathan |

I would rather have someone who dines with the devil but has a sense of fairness and justice than some fake corruption fighter who don't even accept that I am a human being in the first place. haba onlytruth my brother, why are you talking like this na Buhari respects all nigerians whether igbo, yoruba or ijaw we are one, remember we northerners voted for obj who is a yoruba(southerner) that is just to tell you that we do not care about ethnicity buhari is the only one that can handle people like obj, ciroma, and ibb yes, history tends to repeat its self but then we were in the age of miltary rule now we are in the age of democracy |
