BusinessRecognise Africa Project, Partners Needed. by allanohize(op): 11:16pm On Apr 22, 2011
The quality of Africa’s resource endowment for tourism is exceptional, but most countries have only barely developed their tourism potential. The continent only receives about 4% of all international travelers and tourism receipts. The Recognise Africa Project is a coherent framework for tourism development in Africa with potentials to become the most popular tourism project in the world.

Now at the final stages of its development, with official launch slated for Abuja, Nigeria, in June 2011, the Recognise Africa Project needs partners to keep the launch date a reality.

@Jarus,

Good point.

@My other friend
Buhari is a man of his words, he has stomached it easily. Let's put hatred aside for reasoning. Illiterates and bigots trying to fight on his behalf are not fighting for him. I notice people twist every situation to taunt his image. Over 50,000 lies have been told against this man here on nairaland alone. He lost the election to power of incumbency. When he felt he was going to lose, he gave an emotional speech and told us he would never contest the verdict. This is a man who who has guarded some of Nigeria's secrets for yes and spoke of it to noone. Our problems are from the way we think and reason which has been calculated by the western countries to lean towards violence. Look around you in Africa, everything you see happening, ask yourself why. This same people predicted Nigeria's fall in 2015, more than 30 years ago. And we are dancing towards that prediction.

Enough of this negative talk, pls be serious and give some good advice to presido here abeg.

I just got fresh report that there have been Killings, Burning, Arson and Visualization taking Place Now in Zaria, Kaduna State, Nigeria by people alleged to be supporters of Buhari’s CPC burning Churches and attacking Christian in the middle of the Night…. It happening right now and hundreds have been displaced right now.
When did every body in Kaduna become CPC members? Please change the title of this topic and stop inciting more hatred. CPC supporters are not CPC members. Secondly, many of those people rioting may have voted ANPP, ACN or other parties. Please be careful how you word your posts.

But, what da Zap is wrong with these guys sef?

CrimeRe: Boy, 13, Jailed For Pelting Obasanjo's Convoy With 'pure Water' by allanohize(m): 10:22pm On Apr 17, 2011
poweredcom:
"The law describes him as not capable of committing crime yet,"

. . . .MY FELLOW NAIRALANDER, IS THIS UNFAIR TO GIVE A MINOR OF 13 A JAIL SENTENCE FOR PROTESTING, ONLY IN NIGERIA,
First sir, the law doesn't say a minor cannot commit offence; if it says so, then we wouldn't be having remand homes for juvenile offenders.

Secondly, he has not been given a jail sentence yet. He is apprehended and awaiting trial, if the prosecution can prove a case against him.

Nigerians, let us be matured. How do we know it was pure water he was throwing? Because he says so? A 14 year old once went for armed robbery with some criminals, he was the one doing the shooting. Later when they were caught, he feined ignorance of how to use arms and that he was kidnapped by the robbers and taken to the operation against his will. Security cameras later revealed his lies.

I am not saying your boy here is guilty, but if he was arrested with a group of people doing bad things, then he will be made to face the law regardless of his youthful teenage age. But please get him a good lawyer and, I am sure will come out of it. But know that throwing anything at any body is an assault, it doesnt matter what that thing is. In some countries it is even considered attempted murder!

I am a staunch BB supporter and a believer in true and decent leadership devoid of corruption. I have gone through the election results and I want to assume everything was as free and fair as they were described.

On behalf of my family, friends and co-supporters of BB, I congratulate the President and Commander in Chief of the Nigerian Armed Forces, GEJ on his victory at the presidential elections of 16 April 2011. May God give you the strength and wisdom to rule us well in the next 4 years. May your achievements during this period of 4 years be successful. At the end of the next 4 years, may the northerners and every other Nigerian see you as a Nigerian and not as an Ijaw.

Sir, please make sure you address the following: electricty, education, health, transport, agricultural sector reforms, professionalisation of the armed forces and other para military institutions.

Please sir, reduce the gap between the rich and the poor by taking entrepreneurship education to the grassroots.

Put Nigeria on track to achieve her Vision 20:2020.

Sir, know that all these will not be possible if we don't have a working social security system in Nigeria. So, your excellency sir, you may want to start from there. The Brazilian social security system is a perfect example for us as it was designed for people like us. People of our magnitude and mentality.

Don't be afraid to study how Singapore became a first world country from third, within just a few years. We are more intelligent as a group than most of these people. If they can do it in 12 years, we can do it in 4!

Task every state to produce as much agricultural produce every year to feed the whole Africans. This way we can increase our GDP and move up the Human Development Index scale.

Ban all forms of hooliganism, area boyism, all forms of public intimidation and thuggery through harsh penal laws.
Remember sir, that your opposition during the elections were not your opposition because they hated you. They only feel they can adopt a better approach to driving Nigeria forward. As a sign of goodwill, meet with them and draw from their ideas as well. You may not buy into their ideas, but you will surely learn something.

Lastly sir, let it be in your tenure of the next 4 years that Nigeria started producing its own cars, planes, toothpicks, matches and other good good things.

Your excellency, my close family and friends did not support you during the elections up till this time of your victory because we feel you were not "hard" enough to tackle the real problems facing us as a nation. But your victory has left us no choice than to throw all our full support to you now to take Nigeria to its deserved position amongst the league of nations. You can do it sir, you can do it! Let your leadership come from deep within your heart. If you were "hard" enough to win in this manner, then you are "hard" enough to be the most successful leader in African history.

God bless you sir! May God truly bless you!

Congratulations once again on your well deserved victory!

I thank you all for all your comments. Somehow my advice to the guy in question is beginning to take shape.

But I will make this thread more interesting, with yet another short story. True life. (Don't ask me how I manage to be involved in all these things)

Sometime in 2002, I was working in V/Island; and after working hours I would usually go and take some drinks with friends at the bar beach as a way of waiting out the heavy traffic on the road towards the mainland. On one of such occassions, I was introduced to the US Visa lottery. I soon realised that I could register people for N500.00 whereas it was actually supposed to be free.

That year, I registered close to 300 people. One of these was a man I met at the beach where we used to hang out. I convinced him so hard but he was not interested. Instead, he just dashed me N1,000.00! But I wasn't going to take it just like that, I forced him to register himself and his wife (I remembered I had to go to his house with my laptop to do the registration).

As luck would have it, he was among the 3 people from my group who won that year. About a year later he was in the USA working hard to raise enough money to send for his family to join him. In 2004, June, he came back to take his family with him. A wife, 3 kids, a girl (15 years), a boy (9 years) and another girl (7 years). His office in the USA gave him 31 days leave.

He had to take his family to the US embassy for documentation. For his wife, marriage certificate was ok. But for the kids, he was asked to take them to either EKO hospital or Saint Nicholas hospital for medicals. The results were to be sent directly to the US embassy.

A few days later, he was invited over to the embassy where he received a shocker! He was scolded for trying to cheat the US government and the system he has benefitted so much from in the previous one year. He was asked why he wanted to bring other people's children to the US. They told him that the first and third girls were not his children. He, told me that he started laughing at that point because he felt they were just looking for excuses to deny his family visa.

He stormed out of the embassy, went home and retrieved all the school results, hospital bills, photographs and every document he had of his kids over the past 15 years. He took everything to the embassy, but the embassy officials told him to go for a second DNA test anywhere else for confirmation.

In summary (or to cut long story short, as we dey always talk), he discovered the following:

1. His first and last children were not his own.
2. Both of them (i.e. the 2 kids belonged to the same father, someone he didn't even know)

He and his wife were only 11 months in marriage when they gave birth to their first "daughter" so it wasn't that the woman looked for children for many years before deciding to play an "away match".

Later, during the divorce case, at Igbosere magistrate court, they discovered that the father of these two girls was a chairman for area boys in one of the motor parks around their neighbourhood and the "former" boyfriend of the wife before she got married to my friend. It was obvious that she never stopped sleeping with her ex all through her married life.

Look, I will give her my standard dose of 2 slaps and 1 blow before she knows what is going on! What nonsense? Look an old woman who doesn't respect a married man deserves no respect.

After my standard dose, I know she will fall down. I will then piss on her to humiliate her more!

She, her friends, relatives or acquaintances will never again try this shit! lipsrsealed

I am sorry, guys, I posted this in a hurry. I was in class when I did. (I am doing a masters programme and using your laptop for private matters in class is seriously frowned upon).

Here is the message he sent by email to me, which I put on my facebook profile. It is unedited:

---Start---

Dear Allan,

You are the third person and last person I am sending this message to, reason being that you played a godfather role on my wedding. The other persons are my mother and my mother-in-law.

Both women have given me different opinions which I think are biased based on how this case affects them (my mother on my side and my mother-in-law on my wife’s side)

You are the only neutral person who can give me an objective stance as I struggle to take what would probably be the most critical decision of my life to date.

I am married for 2 years now and I never had any reason to suspect my wife until when I went for an official assignment in Port Harcourt 3 weeks ago. In all, we were 37 people from different branches of my company, lodged in a hotel for 6 days.

There were 7 married women amongst us 3 of which must have each slept with at least 3 of my colleagues. These women looked so innocent and I couldn’t help think my innocent wife might be up to something similar whenever she goes on assignments. It was an evil thought but something that had to cross my mind under the circumstances.

I purchased a phone spy and had it installed on my wife’s phone. What I learnt over the past 4 days has made me sick of this world! My tears are staining the computer as I type this email to you. My wife is having an affair with at least 3 different people.

I didn’t need to confront her when I sent her packing while I clear my head. She thinks I am only suspecting her and don’t have any proof, but I am not sure I should disclose how I got the secret text messages and phone calls I was able to record through the phone spy software.

Please sir, don’t ask me if I am sure of what I am saying, like everyone else has been asking me. When a wife starts telling some rich fools on the phone how sweet his d, k is and how she longs for it, and how its sweeter than that of the clown she has at home and all that…bros, I am SURE!

She has denied it so far, even though she is with her mother now. The story they have come up with is that I want to take another wife so I want to use this as an excuse to chase her out for the new woman.

I have a total of 29 text messages which are very clearly incriminating and cannot be denied, as well as a recording of about 14 calls which will make any man commit murder.

It is against the law to tap into someone’s phones so how do I use this evidence to build my case. I have never been unfaithful to my wife since we got married. We are both active members of our church. We have a 9 month old son whom she has been trying too hard to wean because one of her boyfriends (man friends) complains of the milk that comes out of her bosom when he is sucking it! Can you imagine sir?

I know the boy must now be taken for a DNA test! Certainly!

I am confused bros, really confused. I make love to my wife 3 times a night in at least 4 or 5 days per week. She even complains that I want to kill her with sex! I give her N100k every month in addition to the N80k she earns at work, so we don’t lack anything. The other car you shipped to me last year, I gave to her for our second year anniversary together! What else does this naughty woman want?

What is the next step now? Please help me!

---End

My brothers and sisters, please what do you want me to tell this guy? undecided undecided embarassed embarassed huh

there are too many illiterates on nairaland. this man's decision was based on 2 committees' reports. i would have expected that the members of the committees names are mentioned here and we find a way of asking them or rather investigating what led them to the decision which the president endorsed. from what I gather, 90% of the committee members were from south west! including some very popular people whose names we praise today.

true talk o, why must the west always think we should be forced to follow their system of leadership?

i think africans need to find their own style of leadership that caters to their special needs, talk about:

1. "jujucracy".  the most powerful juju man alive becomes president after he wins a juju contest.

2. "egocracy". the richest man in nigeria becomes president.

3. "professorcracy".  the most learned nigerian becomes president etc

@babytoun,

No matter how fast or slow you walk, you will never get to your destination if you are walking in the wrong direction. With PDP in power since 1999, Nigeria has been walking in the wrong direction! So don't join other deceived people who say GEJ has not stayed long enough be effective. If you give him another 25 years in power, we will still not get anywhere because we are not moving in the right direction.

OBJ told us 4 years was too small, we gave him another 4 years. Then he said that too was too small he needed a third term, haba!

Late Yaradua came in and his illness made us overlook his weaknesses as a leader. GEJ is there today and Nigerians are worse off than they were 12 years ago.

About 1000 people (in total) spend more than one quarter of Nigeria's budget, and you say GEJ is good? Go to Aso rock and see how his sister and other family members are living. Education is rotten in Nigeria today except you are willing to pay through your nose, this means 95% of nigerians who cant afford it MUST live in ignorance.

Nigerians, a monkey with clothes right now is better than what we have as a president. I don't care which party wins, but I care that PDP should never remain there.
