Abeg how many goals makelele don score since him start professional football?. Not all DM's move forward to get goals.

the big/rich/good ones

the small/poor/ bad ones

no likes to compare himself to the small poor ones right?

Don't compare mikel with makalele, if makalele defends,he's better,  any balls mikel lost results into a goal,no forward passes,its always sideways or backwards.

Essien defends well and attacks well too, he's only a DM and sometimes plays Centre back (for Ghana against Nigeria,Chelsea against Fulham 07) and sometimes,Essien plays in RIGHT BACK.

So if he comes back,what WOULD HAPPEN TO MIKEL

To me,he has waste football by choosing the wrong place to start a career,its my opinion and i have the right to it.(Chelsea takes interests in ALREADY ESTABLISHED PLAYERS)

I think he should humble himself and go to clubs like Ajax in Hollad,Everton Celtic,or any Bulgarian club side and gain more experience by playing in his best position which for me. . .  its not as a DM,nor as an Attacking Midfielder. . . i practically do not know now.

its just like any other small players out there fighting to play to get money without the insight of becoming a great footballer.

Mikel while playing for Super eagles had never live up to expectations. . .maybe because his played as an Attacking Midfielder which he can not "really" play well in that post. and to worsen his state,we have better players in DM than Mikel (Ayila and Keita)

its high time Osaze starts playing that midfield for us and leaving Nsofo,Ogbuke on the wings.

I really do not know what's wrong some folks in Niaja.

This same crop of players won the world cup @ Korea 2 yrs back in U17 tourney.

Now they are doing well,and hopefully would rep Nigeria by 2014 Worldcup along with some Siasia Boyz, pray for them and don't downplay on their age.

seriously like Debo said, Nasri would be outworked if you don't get an additional and well experienced attacking Midfielfer or winger ESP now that FAB4,walcot,Rosicky are all out for about 2 -3 months now.

The truth is that all players play to their coach's instruction . . . and it is left for the player to have his own self instinct to make him/herself a better player.

Rio is a defender,nobody tells him to go forward when their is a corner,Gallas is also a SHORT defender and he still goes forward,Mikel is taller then Terry,Carvalho.but lacks basic skills.

the truth is that he had killed his initial game plans of being a Attacking Midfielder/offensive that he was in Holland 05 with his new role of A Defensive Midfielder.

To Chelsea,it may be helpful,but when Essien comes backs,what would happen to Mikel? To Nigeria Is 100% worst,we had already had enough Defensive Midfielders like Olofinjana,Kieta,Ayinla,Haruna Lukman amongst others.

Mikel deep down knows that his role isn't a DM,but for some certain reason best know to him,he plays in that role and that would,i mean would kill his game.

if at 21 years,he is not having an ey for goals,then when would he start,at least we have seen defenders and Defensive Midfielders that push forward to atacks like Carrick,Essien,Alonso,Denilson and even song, why not Mikel? abi him coach no like goals

That guy has been one of our top performers this season he has been quietly effective and he really has cushioned the effect of us losing Cesc i shudder at the thought of what might happen if anything happened to him he might not be as good a dribbler as Hleb but is very strong on the ball and very decisive in front of goal he is also way younger and can only get better!! i can almost bet Hleb would have tried to pass if he where in Nasri's position yesterday
