In essence the woman's family owns the land. It isn't her own in the first instance because as it is, the woman cannot even sell what supposedly belongs to her eg to train her brilliant boy to study medicine in the University if she and her husband don't have money.

Boss, your stance on this is actually faulty. Though I’m not in support of the OP fighting his father over inheritance but children have more right over inheritance than spouses. Take for instance, in Yoruba culture, a man’s properties can only be transferred to his wife after his death on and only on the condition that the wife birthed him children (a son in most cases) who would serve as the right heir to the deceased as well as the bloodline. Why now trying to relegate the main reason (The OP in this case) why you were allowed access to the said properties in the first place?
Secondly, selling off landed inheritance properties is not only bad but shameful. My opinion

But some Yoruba are selling off inherited landed properties to Igbo and others in lagos but the sellers are not condemned instead the buyers are called out to be domineering and greedy.

No culture is 100% perfect but in Igboland, if innoson gifts his plastic factory to his daughter and his daughter marries an ogbomosho man .That factory in enugu automatically belongs to segun if she dies without a will even if she bore children for segun and segun can come from ogbomosho ,sell the factory 2b and pocket the money without any disturbances.

Okay compare, in the North millions are in refugee camps without food and sanitary facilities, no food, millions of children are in the streets without hope of getting education and even schools are shut down,millions of disabled lined up the streets begging etc. Let's leave Igbo or let's ask government to organise referendum for them please. I thought Soludo was a smart guy but the way he started with Ipob Sit@home tells me otherwise.The political class underestimated the level of frustrations Igbo go through in Nigeria both in businesses, work and their daily lives in the hands of Nigeria and security agencies and this has been going on since, after the war.
