EducationRe: Is Sociology A Nice Course To Study In Nigeria? by Allergic(m): 2:19pm On Apr 02, 2021
I would say, if you do not have a sound knowledge of a particular subject, please do not offer an opinion.

My heart bleeds for most of the responses here.

Sociology, like most of the social science majors, is very important for our current dispensation in Nigeria, however, this hasn't been the case.

As a sociologist, there are many career opportunities one can embark on, Like Human Resources, Criminology (working with agencies of the judiciary arm of government like the police, EFCC, e.t.c.), Social Analyst, Public Relation, Social Worker, Consultant.

The field of Social Science is a gold mine and it's largely untapped in Nigeria.

Let's take, for instance, take a look at what BudgIT is currently doing analysing our annual budgets and general public spending.

To a great extent, Africa as a continent lacks data and structured information about Human Demography because our Social Scientists have not been up to the task. This could be largely due to a lack of funding or a competency gap.

To conclude, the field of Social Science is still a goldmine in Africa as a whole.

Hi OP, I am sorry about your situation.

Haemorrhoids can affect a man sexually. This is because the same nerve that is responsible for erection connects to the anus. Unfortunately, this is the same nerve that controls your bowel - the expansion and contraction. This is from experience and I have done extensive research about this.

For one with Haemorrhoids, keeping an erection during sex could be hard because of this...

Here is the drug that cured my Haemorrhoids - mine wasn't serious. The name of the tablet is DAFLON.

I spent so much cash from one hospital to the other until I was properly diagnosed and given this tablet... it worked like magic

Car TalkRe: 28 Car Brands And The Year They Were Founded - Innoson Will Shock You by Allergic(m): 2:01pm On Jan 18, 2018
This list(article) didn't pay any homage or honour to Mercedez Benz.

Benz - 1886
Gottlieb Daimler - 1886

These two birthed what is called car today. #RESPECT. It is very, very impressive that they still lead the market of an invention they pioneered over a century ago.

History
Both companies continued to manufacture their separate automobile and internal combustion engine marques until 28 June 1926, when Benz & Cie. and Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft formally merged - becoming Daimler-Benz AG (Aktiengesellschaft) - and agreed that thereafter, all of the factories would use the brand name of "Mercedes-Benz" on their automobiles. The inclusion of the name Mercedes in the new brand name honored the most important model series of DMG automobiles, the Mercedes series, which were designed and built by Wilhelm Maybach. They derived their name from a 1900 engine named after the daughter of Emil Jellinek. Jellinek became one of DMG's directors in 1900, ordered a small number of motor racing cars built to his specifications by Maybach, stipulated that the engine must be named Daimler-Mercedes, and made the new automobile famous through motorsports. That race car later became known as the Mercedes 35 hp. The first of the series of production models bearing the name Mercedes had been produced by DMG in 1902. Jellinek left the DMG board of directors in 1909.

The name of Daimler as a marque of automobiles had been sold by DMG - following his death in 1900 - for use by other companies (Daimler Motor Company and Austro-Daimler). Since the new company, Daimler-Benz, would have created confusion and legal problems by including Daimler in its new brand name, it therefore used the name Mercedes to represent the Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft interest. Karl Benz remained as a member of the board of directors of Daimler-Benz AG until his death in 1929.

Although Daimler-Benz is best known for its Mercedes-Benz automobile brand, during World War II, it also created a notable series of aircraft, tank, and submarine engines. Daimler also produced parts for German arms, most notably barrels for the Mauser rifle. During World War II, Daimler-Benz employed slave labour.
FoodHow Alcohol Affects The Body: What You Need To Know About Alcohol by Allergic(op): 12:47pm On Oct 09, 2017
The Route of Alcohol through the Body
Alcohol travels through the body from the mouth, to the stomach, into the circulatory system, the brain, kidneys, lungs, and liver. As alcohol is consumed and absorbed, the following may occur:

Mouth
* Alcohol passes over sensitive membranes which may became irritated if the alcohol content is high enough
* Heavy drinkers run a much higher risk of mouth and throat cancer

Stomach
* Alcohol does not have to be digested as its molecule is very small and can easily pass through the stomach lining
* When the stomach is empty, alcohol passes directly into the bloodstream
* When the stomach has food in it, particularly food high in protein, the rate of alcohol absorption is slowed but not stopped
* Carbonation in beverages that may be mixed with alcohol speeds up alcohol absorption
* Alcohol in small amounts stimulates the appetite because of an increase in the flow of stomach juices
* Because of the large amounts of stomach juices produced, greater amounts of alcohol dull the appetite and can cause malnutrition
* Excessive alcohol consumption stimulates the flow of gastric juices in the stomach and when combined with the high alcohol content causes irritation to the lining of the stomach resulting in ulcers
* When the concentration of alcohol and gastric juices becomes high enough and irritation to the lining is increased, the reflex action of vomiting is triggered as the body's way of relieving some of this irritation
* 20% of alcohol consumed is absorbed into the bloodstream through the stomach and 80% (the remaining alcohol) is absorbed into the bloodstream from the small intestine

Circulatory system
* Once in the bloodstream, alcohol is quickly distributed evenly throughout the body
* Alcohol dilates or widens the blood vessels as it enters the bloodstream causing:
* greater flow of blood to the skin surface (blushing)
* temporary feeling of warmth
* increased heat loss and rapid body temperature decrease
* drop in blood pressure

Brain
* When alcohol reaches the brain it immediately affects the brain's ability to control behavior and body functions
* As the concentration of alcohol in the bloodstream (BAC levels) increases, the body's functions and other behavior changes
* At specific BAC levels the effects are:
* BAC .02% Judgment, inhibitions, and emotions begin be affected and results are increased relaxation and excessive talking
* BAC .06% Reaction time is decreased, coordination is affected, but neither may be very obvious
* BAC .10% Vision, speech, balance, perception and self control are affected
* BAC .18% Walking and standing are noticeably affected. (walking a straight line, buttoning a coat)
* BAC .20% Memory is impaired, the brain centers for intelligence, emotions and sensory motor abilities are affected; cannot think clearly and become excited or angered easily
* BAC .30% The body is thrown into a complete state of confusion and the signs are: slurred speech, double vision, hearing impairment, difficult or impossible to judge distances, no longer able to walk normally and sudden mood changes
* BAC .40% The brain can barely function and the nervous system is ineffective ; the person is unconscious or almost unconscious; the body may seem frozen or barely able to move, vomiting or uncontrolled urination may occur
* BAC .50% A person slips into a coma; breathing, heart action and blood pressure are decreased drastically to a dangerously low point; the brain cannot control body temperature; death can and often does occur

Kidneys
* Alcohol acts as a diuretic which means it increases urine formation
* A person will urinate more frequently causing dehydration and thirst

Lungs
* Alcohol in its gaseous state, can be inhaled into the lungs and from there will go rapidly into the bloodstream
* Five percent of the alcohol taken into the body leaves through the lungs, kidneys, and the skin; the rest is removed by the liver

Liver
* Ninety-five percent of alcohol that is put into the body leaves the body when it is oxidized in the liver
* oxidation is the converting of alcohol into water and carbon dioxide
* the liver can only oxidize about one drink per hour. (This is the reason that only time can sober up a person.)

* Alcohol damages the liver when it is consumed on a regular basis. Damage that occurs include:
* Fatty Liver
* Alcohol interferes with the liver's ability to break down fats which collect in the liver
* When drinking stops, the condition is usually reversed
* Cirrhosis of the liver
* Heavy alcohol use destroys normal liver tissue and it is replaced by scar tissue.
* Cirrhosis of the liver decreases blood flow and liver functioning
* Progressive cirrhosis (scarring or hardening of liver)

Alcohol and health
* Alcohol in low doses reduced the risk of coronary heart disease, with 80% reduced risk at a consumption of two drinks per day (20g alcohol)
* Beyond two drinks per day the risk of heart disease increases, being more than the risk of an abstainer
* With heavy drinking, any potential benefits are outweighed by greater risks

Car TalkRe: Mercedes Vs. BMW Vs. Audi: Which Is More Reliable? by Allergic(m): 12:03pm On Jul 10, 2017
Meregini:
Have you guys actually use Benz like you've really wused BMW? To talk of it, the cost of maintaining BMW is extremely higher than that of its counterpart. For realiability, Benz is more common because its parts are cheap and available which makes it reliable. So do its mechanics. So my brothers before you hastily conclude, take analysis, compare and contrast. I know that to everybody, he/her name is the sweetest name on earth. But let's be reasonable here and argue with experiences and facts.
While the OP never put Nigeria in scope of this question, I think I was analytical enough relative to my experience and that was clearly stated.

But there you go without any logical construction.
Car TalkRe: Mercedes Vs. BMW Vs. Audi: Which Is More Reliable? by Allergic(m): 9:03am On Jul 10, 2017
This is the best comment I have read so far... How can you review and criticize something you have never used?

Like this guy said, these cars are never for careless people. I am on my 3rd BMW, I have used a 7 series, and i am on my second 3 series.

I wouldn't say which is better in these three but Audi has major short comings in this class. Best thing to do it put model head to head, some BMW will win and in other Benz will win .

Like:
BMW X6 and Mercedes-Benz GLE - BMW wins here.
BMW 7 series and Mercedes-Benz S class - Benz wins here.

In terms of reliability, they are same because they use very similar engineering approach.

At the end of the day, it's boils down to preference. I prefer BMW because of the aesthetics and handling. I have driven couple of Benz and BMW handles better.

You're not supposed to comment here if you haven't used any of these 3 cars.

Livefreeordieha:
big ups bro...i was just going through all comments as usual..when i saw the 1st 3 comments it immediately put on the path of dismay ..i have used 3 bmws..as a matter of facts the 1st bmw was 1994 in mushin that my elder brought for us..before i bought mine 1998 and again in 2005..i can tell you everything about bmw..my best friend now is using 2012 5series ,next month we are going to the UK to check 2008 3series or 2000 760i for me because i am in love with the luxury, speed and bulky look of that model..BMW as a model wasnt built for careless people because BMW is like a woman if she complains listen, treat with care,be attentive, respect and above all try to resolve the issues.

The problem most people have is they just believe if the car drives then the car is ok..it doesnt work like that even in our daily lives..that is why people just die anyhow because basic ill health signs are usually ignored..even in Nigeria some people will even allow sule the road side mechanic decide the life of their car..tell them to disconnect the dashboard diagnostic indicator..can you imagine??ok how do i argue with such a person?where do i begin fromhuhyou buy anyhow fuel in your car because you dont care and because you think you can blame the manufacturers or because you know there are alot of your kind outside there that will join you to condemn the product....you dont buy fuel regularly ..you wait till is almost drying up..forgetting the fact that your tank is metal and its only natural for rust to set it in..afterall we all know fuel is corrosive..when the fuel is very low like that its only natural that the rust particles will be sucked to the fuel pump and it will be blocked...but as usual you will join your likes and condemn the manufacturer....i choose my arguements wisely only when i am bored i argue with anyone but usually i just observe and keep quiet ever since i realized the stats of stupid people is against me.
WebmastersRe: Is Dreamwaver 8 Compulsory For Web Design Beginners? by Allergic(m): 12:39am On Jun 18, 2017
Sulaimonsb:
Bro, you getting this all wrong there is a difference btw Web Design and Web Development. Web design is all about your HTML5, CSS3, building responsive design layout using Mobile First Design(Bootstrap), Content Management System(CMS) which includes WordPress, Joomla etc and SEO

While Web Development is abt building Web Based app using either Front end or Back end or using both stuffs lyk Javascript, JQuery, Ajax and server side Sql and PHP

Tools needed for web design are simply ur laptop, good browsers nd Text Editor personally for me I will recommend Notepad++ or SublimeText3. So pls let's Differentiate btw these two.
Damn, I don't even know why I am wasting my time with all these street developers and designers.

You don't even know the difference between web design and web development. Google is just a tab away to helping you.

Web design deals with User interface (UI) and User Experience (UX). Tools used here are photoshop, fireworks, illustrator etc, this is where usability, look and feel come handy.

While Web development is classified into two: front end development (browser side) and back end development (server side). In front end, you have CSS, HTML, JAVASCRIPT etc. while back end you have PHP, C++, JAVA, ASP.NET, Python, C#, etc.

Some people are here to learn, don't mislead them if you don't know what you are saying.

And don't bother responding to me with the crap you have to say

yinkuscious:
30% of the world website runs on WordPress. Go and learn WordPress instead
Why place limitation on yourself?

You'll meet clients with different requirements.

No Nigeria bank uses wordpress for their website yet. No big financial company uses wordpress yet. None that I know of... so why are you advising a beginner on basis of limitations?

Someone that knows the basis of HTML, CSS and PHP sat down to write wordpress. So why not try to learn the basis so you can build your own wordpress?

I use wordpress and I have 10s of sites running on wordpress but don't compromise on learning the basis. Some way, I choose when to use bootstrap or any framework. Don't rely 100% on tools, platforms and frameworks.

God Bless!!!
WebmastersRe: Is Dreamwaver 8 Compulsory For Web Design Beginners? by Allergic(m): 8:51am On Jun 17, 2017
No, it's never a must.

Let me break this down:

Dreamweaver is a tool.
Netbeans is a tool.
Notepad ++ is a tool.

Now, what is a tool? A device or implement, especially one held in the hand, used to carry out a particular function. A tool is anything that would help you get the job done quickly.

If you are learning, don't focus on tools, focus on the basis.

The basic of web development are:
1. HTML
2. CSS
3. JAVASCRIPT

The tools listed above will provide intellisense and other predefined element to help you write your lines of codes. So, you don't, in essence learn dreamweaver. Don't learn Wordpress, Don't learn bootstrap, these are all just bunch of predefined HTML, CSS, Javascript and PHP script. Someone learnt the basis, sat down and wrote them. So best way to learn is to learn the basis too, then later you can jump on them.

Here's my advise to any beginner. Forget about wordpress, Forget about bootstrap, Forget about dreamweaver, Forget about any tool or framework for now.

Pick up any good text editor with good intellisense (maybe notepad ++ or dreamweaver). Note that I recommended dreamweaver because of its intellisense not because it's a tool.

Once you decide on what text editor to use: Go and learn the basis of HTML and CSS. A good place to start is w3schools.com and practice with your text editor.

When you are good with these scripting languages to an intermediate level, then you can pick up tools and frameworks to help get the job done faster. Until then, forget shortcuts that would frustrate you.

I'll be glad to guide you!

After thought: OP. if you're really serious about learning this, you need to get a laptop if not there's a limit to which you can go with your phone and going to a cafe.

3. Reduce how often you call her
4. Try to invite her over to your apartment

6. While you reduce communication, take her out
7. Invite her over again, don't touch her.

Those saying they were never learner don't really understand English - literally.

Mouthing the wheel of the car and being able to move with no assistance is not what is regarded as learning.

The act of getting experience while on the road is what is regarded as learning, any inexperience driver is a learner.

Driving is experience which, really, nobody will teach you.

My incidence was trying to exit an express lane to a service lane. I was in the far lane to the left, I was very close to exiting point, instead of slowing down to change lane and enter the back on the vehicle by my right side, I overtook the long vehicle and slow right in front of it so I can exit. Everyone was just shouting .....I was scared but nothing happened. This was the best learning point in my early driving days.
