The state police spokesperson, Adekunle Ajisebutu stated that police officers from Ijaiye Ojokoro and not Agbado Ijaiye, acted on a credible intelligence of criminal selling drugs in the area.

Stressing that claim of assault during the raid is malicious, Ajisebutu added that no money or any form of inducement was given during the raid . Those found with cannabis have been handed over to the NDLEA, while those without incriminating substances have been released.

The statement read;

After the fact-finding, it was revealed that Ijaiye-Ojokoro Division carried out the raid and not Agbado Ijaiye as erroneously alleged in the video under reference.

The video is malicious, marred by plethora of half truths and outright falsehoods. The truth is that the police acted on credible intelligence indicating that criminals were hiding in the area where weeds and other dangerous drugs were being sold and taken by criminals who plan their next evil, criminal acts in the area.

Consequently upon the intelligence, the police from the said police station carried out a raid of criminal hideouts in the affected area and similar places as part of proactive strategies to prevent and curb all forms of criminal activities in the State.

Two suspects were arrested and substance suspected to be cannabis was recovered from them. Those who were not found with any incriminating item were immediately released while the two arrested with the exhibit have since been transferred to the NDLEA for further action in line with the spirit of interagency collaboration.

There was no time either before or after the raid that money or any form of inducement was given. And at no time was the supposed 'victim' or any other person was brutalized. Some of the suspects arrested at the same scene are witnesses who testified, denying that anyone was beaten by the policemen who carried out the raid. The supposed 'injured victim' was seen walking on the street shortly after the video

The mother of Tina Adeeyo, the new wife of Pastor Moses Adeeyo, General Overseer of World Bank Assembly, has spoken about her daughter's recent marriage.

The man, named Larry Odigie, from Benin, Edo state, was arrested when he went to confront a mattress seller to ask for his money back.

Odigie was paraded alongside a second man, Victor Jacob from Benue State, whom he had sent to buy the mattress.

Odigie, said he returned to Nigeria for his sister's wedding and has been carrying the gun around for his personal protection because of the insecurity situation in Nigeria.

He explained that on the fateful day, he sent Victor Jacob to buy him a mattress. However, when Victor returned with the mattress, he was not pleased with the quality so he returned it to the store.

However, he said that when he asked for his money back - 54, 000 Naira - the mattress sellers were not forthcoming.

Odigie's demand for a refund is said to have caused a scene and attracted people who then searched him and found a gun on him.

Odigie, who said he relocated to America at the age of 9, insisted that the gun was not to harm anyone, rather it was to protect himself.

He added that he's a medical doctor in the United States.

However, the vigilante and police officer who paraded him accused him of being a criminal.

Odigie kept insisting that he's innocent and asked them to check the gun to see that it has never been fired.

Video of the arrest and parade of the US-based doctor is now making the rounds online, with people sharing the opinion on the matter

We're not going to stop - Israelis arrested in Nigeria and accused of supporting IPOB speak after 3 weeks in detention

Rudy Rochman, David Benaym, and Noam Leibman, the three Israelis arrested in Nigeria and detained for 3 weeks by the DSS over allegations they are supporting IPOB, have granted an interview after their release.

Rudy Rochman, who is a Zionist activist, and David Nenaym, a French-Israeli journalist, were arrested alongside filmmaker Noam Leibman in a Synagogue in Ogidi village, Anambra State, where they went to shoot a documentary titled, 'We Were Never Lost'.

Following their arrest, they were taken to Abuja where they were interrogated and detained for 3 weeks before being allowed to return to Israel.

Back home in Tel Aviv, Israel, they granted an interview immediately upon arrival.

They said they were happy to be freed after 3 weeks in detention but they will not stop telling the story of the Jewish life in Nigeria.

Rudy Rochman said during the interview: "We just went through 3 weeks in a cage locked up for no reason. We did nothing wrong. We just came there to show the stories of the Jewish life in Nigeria - the Igbos - and though we were not able to do our full project, we're still not gonna stop and we're still going to share the stories and showcase that they get recognition and that people understand who they are.

"But, obviously, we're very tired and very happy to be back home."

Noam, the third man detained by the DSS, later joined in on the interview and expressed regrets that they couldn't complete the project that brought them to Nigeria.

He added that though they couldn't get it done now, "we're not giving up for the future."

The men said they made it clear via their social media account before their arrest that they were not affiliated to any secessionist movement, yet that didn't stop their arrest.

They were arrested by "about a dozen armed men in ski masks" who told them they were just going to take them in for questioning for "30 minutes".

However, the men said they ended up keeping them all night and made them sleep on the floor.

"We ended up staying there the entire night and then the next morning, they wake us up from sleeping on the floor," Rudy Rochman said, adding, "They stuff us back with black ski masks at gun point into cars and they took us 9 hour drive to Abuja, very dangerous drive, just swerving and speeding all over. And then we find ourselves 20 days, locked up in a cage over there."

Rochamn alleged that due process was not followed and they were not officially arrested or accused, yet they were treated like criminals.

He continued: "And at no point were we actually arrested. They didn't tell us that we were accused of something, they didn't tell us you're officially arrested of something. And their status of 'invited' is what allows them to not allow us to have a lawyer, not allow us to have a phone call, not allow us to have any rights..."

He said that they told the security operatives that since they were not under arrest, they should let them go but the men told them, "if you go, then we'll stop you."

Rochman added that they tried to leave a few times but "they jumped on us and threw us back into the cage."

The operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS), on Monday, attacked Vanguard Photojournalist, Mr. Gbenga Olamikan, at the Federal High Court, Abuja.

Mr. Gbenga Olamikan was attacked for taking the photos of the detained associates of Sunday Igboho, who were brought to court in compliance with the judge’s order.

An officer on mufti aggressively approached the Vanguard photographer and was later joined by DSS officials.

The DSS operatives seized Olamikan’s phone and held it for over 40 minutes.

The phone was released after the intervention of Olamikan’s colleagues.

The operatives of the DSS also prevented newsmen from taking photographs and videos of the detainees.

The DSS operatives also barricaded the Federal High Courtroom entrance and harassed journalists during court proceedings.

Boy named Daniel has been rescued from his madam after he was subjected to horrific physical abuse just one month into his stay with the woman.

The boy, from Jos, said his mother is dead and his father is in the village, so he was brought from the North to Lagos and handed over to a woman named Onyebuchi in Surulere, Lagos, so that he can work for her and get sent to school in return.

However, the boy was reportedly subjected to abuse and wasn't enrolled in school.

Concerned neighbours got involved when they saw the boy eating from a maggot infested dustbin in the compound. They noticed the boy has cuts and bruises all over his body and his fingers were also bent and bruised.

The neighbours did a video, asking the boy what happened to him and he said his "Aunty" was responsible for hitting him.

Reports about the abuse were shared online and human rights activist went to the given address in Surulere. There, they met the boy and his madam.

The boy was so battered that he showed signs of extreme pain when asked to sit, because of bruises on his bum.

The madam insisted she wasn't responsible when confronted by human rights activist. She added that she feeds the boy and doesn't maltreat him.

However, the activists told her that they have videos of the boy carrying heavy things on his head and eating from the dustbin.

Asked why she hasn't enrolled the boy in school, the woman explained that he has been with her for only one month and she was making efforts to do so. Also, most schools closed for the term a week ago so it wouldn't have been possible to get him enrolled at the end of the school term.

It was also alleged that the madam got her children to abuse Daniel. She reportedly asked one of her children to hit Daniel's head on the wall and the child did.

Despite the madam's denials, the activist, @auntlanda promised to ensure she faces the law.

A police officer who followed the activists to the scene took the madam to the police station in a bus. The madam's child who hit Daniel's head on the wall was also taken to the station.
