Basalt:
Now let me give you assignment.
How many vacancies advertised online did you hear that the person must have certificate in petrel, Hse or GIS?
Nepotism has taken everything, and if you don't have anyone, then, they will look at your Bsc grade and your previous work experience
Most of the entry level vacancies don't demand any certifications, your grade and work experience, it's OK for you, when employed, you will be trained in the area they need your functions.
Then if you have person, na that one sure pass.

Most of the people sef give you the certificate after a week training.
Now tell me what you will learn in Petrel under one week?

Open your eyes, all these people are just after your money, stop breastfeeding them.

Use your money in other important things that will multiply the money for you

Am sorry for bumping in on this..........ur judgments here appears to be myopic.........u have given up on getting a job by merit in Nigeria....just because u don`t or couldnt land a job by merit doesnt mean that others Don`t and wont.......... I tell u this bro........today people still get jobs on merit basis in Nigeria.........and you want to make me believe `the notion that says NIGERIAN GRADUATES are unemployable`.....not beacuse they are not bright or smart students....but they lack the basic skills to compete with their contemporaries in the global labour market......(no insult meant........& no apologies either)..........what happened to self development?..........are you restricting yourself to the NIGERIAN Job market alone?................do u think you can measure up to your fellow geology graduates from other countries?..........even colleagues from fellow African countries?

I ask you this simple question........why waste the time & resources study Geology?..........you could have ventured into the business world.........do not discourage those who are willing to learn & self develop cos they will surely reap the fruits of their efforts...............i dont know whoever put up that advert for training opportunities......never met him/her........i feel we need to get things right.........and it starts with our attitude.......getting such training and certifications does not basically translate to a piece of paper..........but the value we add to ourselves to give us that additional advantage in the labour market......if you are waiting for employers to train you on some basic skills that u ought to have............you are on a long thing my bro.

Dude...GIS is gradually being accepted in Nigeria by the day....there are great prospects in the feild...telecoms, d oil industry,d minning industry, seismic industry,land/geophysical survey industry, govt parastals like inec, agis, rivgis, bgis, etc all practice gis in Nigeria....the health sector has even keyed in to gis.....i would advise you to add one or two areas of information technology to your gis cert.....e.g database mgt, programming or server administration.....this can serve as a bridge for you to switch b/w agric-gis-information technology, if u can sharpen ur skills in statistical analysis...it will be an added advantage....pray a lot & network as well..........hope this helps.

That is quite an interesting area... You'd be very relevant as a geomodeler in the industry... My advise will be that you go for one of these crash course in some geology related areas for about 2weeks or go for a masters program in geology/geophysics... That way, you'd have built a foundation for yourself... You'd need such background/foundational knowledge when it comes to troubleshooting a problematic model or any other areas in geoscience you may find yourself...

If you have perused through the pages in this thread, you'd see that i have uploaded a petrel manual and its training data. The more you practice, the stronger and more familiar you get with its functionality and applications pending when you get your hands on something different....

thanks for the heads up...actually looking to take some training on petrel and landmark....missed out on an opportunity to work with Halliburton as a data loader a while back...due to d technicalities of d test....anyway will def go for d trainings.

This is a manual 2005 Mazda 6 - Sedan.

Total Landing Cost in Naira: ₦874,000

Total Landing Cost means total price without clearing. The above amount lands the car at the Lagos port.

I estimate clearing to be an additional ₦370k. Clearing will be handled by a Nairalander who does clearing on behalf of my clients.

It depends on the level of of your sacrifice. If I go for a day or two nothing touches my skin and tongue. But if I'm climbing from 3 to 21 days dry, I will take a little water to keep me going but no taking of bath or brushing of teeth. What matters most is one's level of faith.

are u for real.......no bathing for 21 days?
