oluwafemi88:You will be given a total sum of €8829 Euro to transfer for Fintiba Basic and not just €8642. €89 will be for initial account opening fee and the remaining €98 is buffer out of which €4.99 is deducted monthly for account maintenance fee starting from the month of your arrival in Germany. |
For those who are new to Lagos and will be coming in for their Visa Interview: Check out this link https://lara.ng/ It's an automated direction assistant, Gives you direction on how to move around Lagos using public transport, E.g. If you need direction from Ojota to Abule Egba, just type "Ojota to abule egba," and you get your directions. Funny enough, the App will even tell you the price you may pay the Danfo man. |
Ritazcorea:Maybe you should try and access the file on a PC in case you were trying to use your phone before. The file is ok. It's opening on my phone. You can PM me so that I send it to your email directly. |
Ritazcorea:It's a PDF file. You need Acrobat Reader to view the file. Hope you have it on your device. |
lexi28:Here you are: |
Dammyeliz:In case you and your spuse are still together in the country, you could consider doing a court wedding to have your papers. With a court wedding certificate, you can begin your processes while you wait for your final wedding in August. |
germanmanny:Yes you can. Just go with a printout of the Block Account information. At the interview, you will be asked to sign that you will be submitting a proof of funding to complete your visa processing. The Visa Officer will also give you the email to send proof of your funding to. After then, go ahead to complete your BA funding and send proof via email. |
seungold1929:The document is in PDF. Use Adobe Acrobat Reader or viewer to open it. |
Attached is a compilation of several Nairalanders' experiences at their student visa interviews compiled by a Nairalander several threads ago (God bless the individual!). By and large, what you will see at your own interview are covered by the various experiences of Nairalanders shared in the attachment. Kindly download, go through and keep for reference. |
glopatra:To be on a safer side, if you had the time, just do an affidavit for the loss or misplacement of the Pry School Cert. Oga Paulinus called it out when I went for my interview and wouldn't hear that I didn't have it. I just gently dropped the affidavit not to over-excite the man. |
Fabcol:Congratulations Fabcol! Your support on this thread has been really awesome! Enjoy God's help and uncommon favour in this your Germany journey! |
Jaephilipx:You don't need any agent for this, even for private universities like Gisma. Go to their website and follow the guidelines. €1000 is 400k Naira fa! Why waste such scarce something! |
ejighikepat:As per GTB oh... You will still have to open an Euro dorm account. I had a dollar account too but had to open Euro. The bank will use their own conversion rate to convert dollar to Euro for you before moving your fund in the dollar acct to the Euro acct. They will not use CBN rate, it will be prevailing parallel market rate or slightly higher. But if you have a way of funding your Euro account directly by yourself you will definitely avoid the bank charging you conversion rate. But you can't move the fund out by yourself to a foreign account, the bank will do it for you and of course charge you the transaction fees (telex fee, offshore handling charge, VAT, etc). In my own case, the fees came to 23k. Above is from own experience with GTB. I don't know if other banks handle it differently. If you have a UBA account (even if it is Naira denominated) and you have online access to your account, there is a feature that is like FX Transfer. When you click on it, it appears an account owner would be able to initiate an FX Transfer. I saw this after I was done funding my BA. Anybody can give it a try and see if it works and revert back to share with others. |
Premiercare:Just last month - April 2019. |
alexdedon:Euro was N404 then. Even at that, GTB said there was CBN restriction of €1,000 cash deposit per week into an Euro-denominated account. So, direct funding of the Euro account using Aboki's cash deposit was not practical. It would take 9 weeks to fund €8829. Crazy! A way around it was to open a dollar account, buy dollar from Aboki ($1=N360) and fund the dollar account. Dollar-denominated account can accept $10,000.00 per day. FX conversion and transfer was then made from a dollar account to Euro account - no restrictions. Then the bank charges you their transaction fees of about 23k with GTB. You can instruct them in the form to deduct the charges from your Naira account so that your Euro amount is intact. From your Euro account, it then flies out smoothly to Fintiba or whatever BA operator you choose. With Fintiba, you get notified within 24 hours that your Euro has landed. |
MissNK:Agreed 100%! Except by some special waiver because the Bank Officer or Approving Officer know you personally or any other way, you won't be able to make BA transfer using Form A. My account was already debited in GTB for the Naira equivalence of the Euro and I was happy that I get luck . The following day, my Account Officer called me that she would have to reverse the transaction. CBN does not allow Form A processing to any individual account. I went the normal route: - Open Dorm Euro Account - Buy Euro from Aboki and pay into your dorm account. - Bank will help you do the transfer from your account and charge your some transactional fee. Using GTB, all charges was around |
Adhheir:Thanks so much! I'm sure people whose deadlines are fast approaching would learn from this and also use same approach. Vielen Danke! |
Chriswazo:Lol! Care to go through my posts on this thread? I've been responding to some few questions here. You are not obligated to share stuff if you don't want to. Thanks. |
Adhheir:Kindly share with us what he did to be proactive. I had my interview first week in April and I'm yet to receive the AM. My enrolment date is in October though. |
badmus306:How soon will the AM start to drop? It's already 6 weeks after I went for the interview. I am to resume in October. Would they delay sending AM because my course start date is still far away? |
MaryIngrid:You will still need Block Account. BA is to cover for 1 year of your accommodation/living expenses while in Germany. It is a mandatory requirement for every international student coming to study in Germany who does not have a scholarship or an approved Sponsor Letter. On the other hand, tuition fee is collected by the school. Gisma Business School is accredited and recognised. Run a search on LinkedIn to connect with Nigerians currently studying in the campus. You can get in touch with them to give you first hand info. From a few I've spoken to, it's a good school, though expensive. |
A very nice thread documenting a Nigerian student's life in Germany. Please follow: https://www.nairaland.com/4373209/adventures-village-scholar-germany |
mayorgbasky:I don't think the Embassy has any issue with clear and neat laminated documents. Some of my documents were laminated and they were accepted without any complaint. |
Good people of NL. Permit me to ask this question oh: since most winter enrolments and start dates are usually around September/October, does that mean there can be freeze on the Embassy issuing AM until July or so? I notice I have hardly seen any update of people receiving AM for Winter. |
legionnaire:Try Gisma Business School Berlin. - IT Security Management - Data Analytics and Information Management - Data Analytics and Marketing Management - Project Management - Engineering Management Application all online. No need to send parcels and no application fees. Courses are English-taught but are not tuition-free. https://www.gisma.com/programme/postgraduate-degrees/ |
uchman:GISMA Business School Berlin is recognised and accredited. I believe every course advertised by GISMA is registered and accredited by the Senate of the Federal Republic of Germany. I have contacted Nigerians who are currently studying there. So, you will not be denied visa if you meet other requirements. |
tsmith1:AMEN! Thank you. |
aduku1:Thank you. |
Armstrong34:You have a heart of gold! Thanks for the encouragement. I will go for the interview. |
aduku1:I will have to send them an email to cancel this appointment then. Even though, I can book a flight to Lagos tomorrow but I don't want pressure to make me ill-prepare for the interview. |
Armstrong34:I used a laptop. I refreshed almost every minute from 10:45 PM until just one date came in at around 11:20 PM when I was about closing the browser. |
Hello people, I just got an interview booking now through the online booking. But I don't understand what date this is actually: "You have booked an appointment in Lagos on 05.04.2019... " Can someone help me if this date is 5th April which is next tomorrow or 4th of May? Please help a brother! |
