Wonders7:Thank you sir. |
Olad7554:Yours is even "heftier"! Lol! School is Gisma Business School Berlin. |
Fabcol:Very correct! |
Philfit:Thank you sir... very much! This is very encouraging. |
Good people. I have been a silent reader. Thanks for all your contributions and assistance on this thread. I've just been offered an admission in one of the private Business Schools in Germany for an MSc in IT Management. The tuition is hefty - €15k for the programme, though I can pay instalmentally throughout the duration of the course! It sounds crazy because almost all schools people have been getting here are free-tuition or 1500 max per semester. My chances are quite limited really because I'm in my 40s and only had HND. My question is this: is it worth it to spend this kind of money on this adventure? Na borrow a wan borrow the money sef! I hope to get a job in Germany and able to relocate with my family after the MSc. I have over 10 years work experience in IT working in one of the IT multinationals in Nigeria. Thanks for your time in answering the question. |
Aub430:Congrats Aub430. Please did you get the 489 ITA with 65 score? If you don't mind; pls which profession did you nominate? |
Sylver247:MTN |
Wow! You're holding me spell-bound with your story. Please I beg you don't allow critics to stop you. Learn how to sieve constructive ones from lame ones, but don't stop writing this story. I'm following you already. I can't wait to continue this story plsssssss! |
Jarus:Spot on Oga Jarus! I've been looking forward to your comment. This summarises it for me! |

JideSM:Thanks so much! |
JideSM:Can I do this Sim swap by proxy anywhere there is an MTN Connect Store or at some special places? I'm asking because in Uyo/Calabar axis I was told that MTN policy does not allow sim swap by proxy at all. |
justwise:Thanks so very much! ![]() |
justwise:Thanks justwise for the additional answer. But how do I address the lump sum? Will they allow my explanation of borrowing fly? |
justwise:Thanks sir. |
The gurus in the house - especially justwise and ekpotek; may God bless you so generously for your priceless assistance here. Kindly spare a thought for me on this: 1. I had no plan of a UK travel this year at all; but I got an invite to the UK for an immigration briefing towards a possible permanent stay in another country . 2. Due to its suddenness, the only way is to get a loan to fund my travel which will definitely show up in my acct statments. 3. I want to apply for a 3 day visit using the super priority process because the conference date is just next week - that's about 530k. 4. Can I honestly explain the bulk deposit that will show up in my acct that I borrowed it because the invitation came at very short notice? 5. My monthly salary is up to 500k from a permanent employment, though my expense monthly is as much! I only have savings of about 1m in a cooperative & pension of about 11m. Would submitting their statements count positively for me? 6. I intend to manage my expenses by staying with a relative in UK and staying for just 3 days. Will a budget of about N600k fly for me? 7. I'm married with children. I have only travelled to one Schengen country once and twice to a neighbouring West African country. Thank you for your time as I humbly await your advice and counsel. |
Sincerely, I don't get why someone will spend fortunes to buy relics. Of what use or value is it to the buyer? I will appreciate if someone can educate me please. Thanks in advance. |
scarplanet:How can one get to buy Honda transmission fluid in Nigeria? |
eleven:This is very crucial. I followed your advice just this morning. The gear was not shifting anymore. It is as if it was stuck in Gear 2 or 3. It doesn't take off sharply and does not change to higher gear when you speed up. The mechanic was already thinking of dropping the gear - a work that will be a whole day or even 2 days. I googled and found this thread. I asked my mechanic to get my Honda CRV 2001 scanned. The technician was called and he ran the scan. Whatever he did using the machine worked because after he was through, the gear works perfectly without carrying out oil change or any physical work. Thanks for putting this up. Internet can be powerful! |
ICaSNg:Hi, ICasNg and other gurus here. Thanks for the good work you are doing here educating all of us. What course in Ireland would you suggest for someone that has HND Lower Credit in Mineral Resources Engineering but has been working in IT/Telecoms for about 14 years. His interest is basically in IT or Telecoms. I've been trying to help him search for relevant University and course in Telecoms & Networking, but it seems there are few options. Most options are in computing or Computer Engineering which are for core IT graduates. Thanks. |
bellong:Thanks. I will send them an email as you advised. |
bellong:Hi Bellong, Thanks so much for the great enlightenment work you're doing on this forum. My case is a little similar to Ugonology. I have HND in Geological Engineering but I have been an IT/telecom professional since 2005. That's about 13 years of IT/Telecom experience including Field Engineering role in a multinational telco. Do you think I can have a very good outcome with Engineers Australia assessment under Telecom Technologist or Telecom Field Engineer or Professional? Thanks for your time sir. God bless you. |
missloluwa:Some opted to leave voluntarily. Many were actually compelled to voluntary resign. They did not want the scheme and did not expect the letter that ended their journey in MTN. |
Just one comment and on first page? |
My car heating up issue was solved by an unbelievable solution: changing of the radiator cover. I would drive for a short distance - 15km or so and then would be hearing boiling sounds from the hood, even though the temperature gauge seems normal. The mechanic at a glance suggested I change the radiator cover. One hand the thing resolve oh! ![]() |
crusufixo:This is not a third-party recruitment. The vacancies are MTN full time roles. Apply with confidence. |
Gptech:Thanks Gptech. I'll chat you up on your WhatsaApp. |
Hello People, I wish to buy a Xiaomi mi5 but I'm concerned about availability of accessories: - Screen protector - Phone case - extra USB cable (I read that the Xiaomi mi5 USB cable is not the mini-USB that other phones use) - In case the phone has a fault, e.g. broken screen, how easy is it to get parts for repairs? Kindly drop contacts to get the phone and the accessories as I listed above. Thanks all. |
obyrich:That's not true. A lot, and most of the staff are very actively engaged. |
Lucasiangrey:I work in a Telecom company. The trend in the industry is fast changing and I will advise you to position yourself for the future. Field operation and field maintenance functions in Telecoms companies are being outsourced to Telecoms coy like Ericsson, Huawei, IHS (facilities, infrastructure maintenance). In those companies, graduates of PSE will have jobs but trust me, mostof those jobs can be dead end having no sterling future prospects in the scheme of things - at best you keep on doing the same thing with some little changes. What is the future of Telecoms? The trend is IP, Cloud Technology, Application-based solutions. On this note, I'll strongly advise you to follow a career path that gets you footing and assures you climbing on the right ladder into the future. So in summary: 1. go for ECE or COE for your undergraduate study 2. Finish with very good grade (minimum 2.1 or Upper Credit) 3. Get relevant certifications relevant to future-demanding technologies e.g. IP Technologies (Cisco - CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, Juniper, etc). Read more on certification tracks on www.cisco.com/certifications. Get skills/certification on others, like cloud computing, network security and solutions architecture and designs. Also, read up on IT Projects and Business certifications e.g. PMP, PRINCE2, ITIL, AGILE, SCRUM, SIX SIGMA, etc. There are some Telecoms/IT jobs where coding/scripting/software development skills are demanded. Most foreign jobs posted in Telecoms section have these in very high demand. Most of these guys work on the applications side - VAS (Value Added Services e.g. callerbacktunes, Callerfeel, etc. 4. Get a job that gives you experience along any of the above or similar career track and work steadily but swiftly around to learn the ropes and be an authority. Prioritise on company where there is training and exposure to these technologies; the pay may not be much but stick with a company that teaches you hands-on skills. Get as many relevant certifications as you can, ensuring you follow through to at least professional level of your core career track within the first three (3) years of your working. 5. Strategically, look out for a change of roles or position after the first 3 years of your job - it may be with same organisation or outside of it. Recruitment people (HR) seems to love people who have strong career mobility. 6. After your first 3 years, get expert certifications. Also, go for your MSc or MBA, to prepare you for taking up managerial positions. Continuous learning is the key! Don't spend your early money you made at work to buy Lexus 350 and take up 3 bedroom flat in Lekki!!! Use it instead to invest in your career. If you must travel out, let it be that you go for workshops and seminars relevant to your career! Don't just go there to sleep in expensive hotels and riding in yachts! Above all, fear God and keep all His commandments! Follow experienced and highly-knowledgeable career gurus in the house like Jarus and Ajanlekoko! These guys are good! |
A shameless society celebrating the mutual defrauding of one another! What value have you added to the society or somebody else's life to earn 30% in a month? Men of inferior mental capacity are quick to eat their future just to satisfy the present - this is the bane of 3rd world nations. It is a shame! |
