http://odili.net/news/source/2010/dec/10/309.html

This came as the Police Command vowed to smoke out the kidnappers of the grandmother and wife of a Medical Doctor Madam Idowu Ogunleye.

Medical doctors in the state that withdrew their services following her kidnap are yet to resume duties.

Parading the suspects in Akure, the Police Commissioner Chintua Amayor Onu, said that the civil servants Adedayo Olupona, Idonuagbe Raymond and Olorunsola Emmanuel Olumide were apprehended on the 7th of this Month.

Meanwhile an undergraduate of Mass Communication in the Federal Polytechnic Auchi Akinsola Rotimi was equally paraded for alleged armed robbery.

The suspects, according to the Police Boss, sent text messages to their boss, Akintoroye Anthony, demanding for N480,000, failure which they would kidnap his children from their school.

The complainant Vanguard gathered reported to the Anti Robbery Section of the state Police Command the receipt of several text messages threatening him.

The Police swung into action by detailing an Inspector who led other policemen to lay ambush for the suspects in a spot where the victim was asked to place the ransom.

The Commissioner said that unknown to the suspects that the police were laying ambush, one of them Olorunsola Emmanuel Olumide appeared to pick the money when he was rounded up.

His arrested led to the arrest of the two others who according to the Police Commissioner have confessed of the "planned kidnapping and extortion.

The Police said that the phone and sim card used to perpetrate their nefarious act were recovered from them as exhibits.

Speaking on the Madam Ogunleye kidnap the police Commissioner said that "we are going to get her freed very soon we need your prayers.

"We believe she is still alive and unhurt and we are going to get her freed in no distant time.

In a changing world, where the population of eligible bachelors is falling daily, ladies now find themselves having to marry men who may be below their status in terms of educational attainments or economic standing. As would be expected, this is re-defining the male-female relationship equation. The long held perceptions of the past no longer seem to jell with most people.

Seun Adams has this to say: “I had this guy I dated for over four years whose financial status can’t be compared to mine but despite this I was faithful to him and I loved him with everything. At that time I thought he was a good person but right now I think otherwise because when I began to analyze memories I found out he was only using me. So I would rather advice anyone not to waste time with someone who is just below your class because it can never work.

Tonia Aderonke shares her experience too: “Ours was made in heaven, although I was a lot older and better educated than Kelvin (not real name) but he seems older. Kelvin was the perfect date, when I first met him it was an instant attraction, he had all the right characteristics, he was tall, fair with brown eyes and an eager smile and he wore a crisp white sleeveless shirt that day. And he had this bold tattoo on his left arms too. I didn’t have to impress him much because he hardly knew what the political and economic climate was about. He didn’t understand what the melt down was about neither did he understand what the climate change was either.

All he wanted to talk about was music. I let him be because for once I was enjoying not been in academic environment. He filled me in on the latest club on the island and I enjoyed all the outings. It might just be because he called me beautiful or he sent me text message just to say hi. But I continued to date Kelvin. Honestly, I was happy with him but there was a nag I couldn’t introduce him to my friends, how much more my professor parents.
His IQ was below average and he was so wild I knew right deep down he wasn’t really doing anything tangible at that time. I wanted to help him, I wanted to be open-minded, and I wanted to give him more chance. Was I shallow? I was too cowardly to hurt him but I knew the relationship couldn’t grow. I knew I just had to let go because I couldn’t get past our polar differences.

Interestingly, Kemi Adedayo also opined that marrying a man below her class is a no, no, explaining: “My answer to that is absolute no; I can never marry a man below my class because I really need someone to be proud of. Someone I can easily tell the whole world about. Really I need someone high up there, not in terms of money but I would prefer someone who is intellectually sound, vast and more knowledgeable than me. I think it is possible for me if I were to be a man to marry a woman below my status but as a woman I can’ marry a man below my status. You know a woman needs to flaunt her man, someone that has a solution to my problems.

Seun Jayeola view is that “it is good for every woman to know that using your head along with your heart will help you select the right partner. You see there some issues you just don’t overlook when saying I do. I honestly think that in every relationship social status and money count a lot. If you marry below your social class you might end up with so much problem. Although there are marriages where they have major differences in status and they have managed to work things out but I don’t think I can handle it though.”

Tinuke Williams plunged into such relationship and she came out with burnt fingers.Recalling that experience, she says: “I wouldn’t say we were not in the same class because his families and I came from the middle class. But I am the only child of my parents so I had everything at my beck and call. On his part he was the first child and he had to struggle through school. I met Tunde at the church and we became great friends. Afterwards we began dating, I was five years younger than him but to be modest I was always the centre of attraction anywhere I went. Aside the fact that I was very pretty girl, I guess I was easily loved by everyone who came in contact with me.

Christianity EtcMatch Making Church Opens In Lagos by AloyEmeka5(op): 4:35am On Dec 13, 2010
Lagos sex church

Match-making church where men pay N1000 to have many ladies

It should have been established as an organization for singles searching for life partners. But the owner chose to call it a church (Zoe Ministries Worldwide) with match-making as its major preoccupation. You may call that a novel and commendable ‘project’ in a society where many a single lady has to pay through the nose to get a man for marriage! Good as it appears, however, the ‘project’ has compounded the plight of many innocent ladies who are seeking church’s assistance in their desperate search for life partners as men, according to findings, are using the opportunity to take advantage of such girls.

Some of those who have fallen victims of the randy men, told us their tales of disappointments and frustrations they have experienced in the hands of men. Their account confirmed that some unscrupulous randy men have seen it as an avenue of meeting, using and dumping the partner-seeking ladies.

The game has also taken its toll on some parents who in desperate bid to liberate their daughters from the noose of spinsterhood before it gets too late, have also resorted to obtaining forms from the match-making church in order to get life partners for their wards.

This much was revealed when one of our reporters was assigned to investigate the match making business. In the course of his investigation he obtained a form using fake details beside his photograph at one of such centres at Mile 12 in Lagos.

The form was purchased on October 29, from the proprietor who gave his name as Evangelist Francis. After filling the form on which qualities of desired partners were listed and when the ‘search fee’ of N1000 was handed to him, the evangelist wasted no time in bringing out piles of applicants’ files. Prodded by the reporter, he narrated that many parents now come to obtain forms in order to get life partners for their children.

He explained that such parents take the decision when their daughters are of marriage age and are not married. Rather than live and watch them become eternal spinsters, he said, concerned parents would not leave any stone unturned in finding solutions to their children’s marital challenges. Whether the consent of such children are sought or not remains unknown and whether the choice of the parents would suit their daughters remains another Herculean task. He spoke about the attitude of some parents that have come to obtain forms for their daughters. “Let me give you two examples,” he began as he brought out a file of a youth corps member. “The parents came here and obtained form for her.

I have got different men for her but they didn’t like any. They wanted any of a lawyer, banker or an accountant. I have got all these all to no avail. They always insisted on going to check the man’s office and house to be sure of his claims. The last man I got for them is a banker. They called that they were going to go and see him but till date they have not gone. The man came back and informed me that he didn’t see them. I think I am tired of them because it seems they are not serious. There was another woman that came to do same for her daughter. When I called her to come and see the picture of a man I felt would be okay for her daughter, she came and immediately she saw the picture, she hissed and said that was not the kind of man she wanted for her daughter. The list is endless.”

After that came counseling time with the reporter on the dos and donts. “You must not meet any person we give you at her house or take her to your house. Always meet at eateries. This is a Christian organization and we don’t encourage pre-marital sex. When you meet and you like her, you can start courtship. Later you can go and know each other’s parents. If you eventually marry, you will pay us N5000.”
In case the reporter didn’t like the partner, hear his advice: “You don’t tell her that or shout at her. Just tell her that both of you should go and pray about it. After that you come back to me and I will give you another one. I will continue to get you new ones until you get your choice. The money you paid does not have period of expiry.”

With this, he obliviously made it a kind of bonanza where with just N1000, a man could have as many as 10 women over a period of time. From the piles of applicants’ files, he suggested one and said if the reporter would not mind, he could get her to come immediately. With the speed of lightening, he grabbed his phone, he dialed her number and informed her that a prospective partner was around. With the same persuasive marketing skills he sold the lady to the reporter, he also sold him to the lady. From the receiver’s end, the lady spoke in a voice laden with despair: “Ah! Are you sure that one would be serious? Okay o, you can give him my number. Her voice tells it all that she had had series of disappointments in the hand of those whom she had earlier been matched with.

There has been palpable tension in the camp of Kaduna State Governor, Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa, in the last one week over the true position of his health, Sunday Sun can authoritatively reveal.
He has already been flown abroad for medical treatment.

Although it was not the first time he was travelling abroad for an undisclosed purpose since he became governor about six months ago, this latest trip, which he embarked on about 12 days ago, appears to be causing ripples in Kaduna, with some of his supporters alleging that the governor may be suffering from food poisoning.

However, Sunday Sun learnt that the governor may be suffering from prostate cancer, an ailment he was diagnosed with before he became Kaduna governor.

An impeccable source in the state government confided in Sunday Sun that “the sickness did not start today. I will not reveal where he has gone abroad for security reasons, but contrary to what you are saying and what people are saying, the man was never poisoned by anybody.
“The man is suffering from prostate cancer, and this thing is not new. He has been having it and he has been managing it well, but a lot of people did not know. So please do not bring up any political issue here. It will not affect his governorship ambition.

“I agree with you, he is a public officer. But I think the man deserves some privacy. It is not for you to be prying into his private affair, because I see all these as part of his private affair,” the source volunteered.
However, one of the governor’s senior aides, who also spoke in confidence, queried when Sunday Sun sought his clarification: “Who told you that? It is not true. You know we just finished our local government tour, and because of the stress, the man just decided to travel abroad to have some rest. It has nothing to do with any ill-health, I can assure you,” the aide insisted.

By last Wednesday, it was exactly one week since Yakowa, 62, jetted out of the country. According to one of his aides, he was expected back last Thursday. But as at the time of filing this report, the governor was yet to return. Another text was sent to another aide of the governor to ascertain when he was returning to the country, but the aide did not respond up till the time of filing this report.

A, B, C OF PROSTATE CANCER
Prostate cancer, according Wikipedia, the free encyclopaedia on the Internet, is a form of cancer that develops in the male reproductive system. It is a type of cancer that grows slowly but could spread from the reproductive system to other parts of the body, particularly the bones and lymph nodes.

It further reveals that prostate cancers could cause pain, difficulty in urinating and problems during sexual intercourse, adding that other symptoms could potentially develop during the later stages of the diseases.
Rates of detection of these cancers vary across the world, but they tend to develop in men over the age of 50, adding that, “although it is one of the most prevalent types of cancer in men, many never have symptoms, undergo no therapy, and eventually die of other causes.

http://www.sunnewsonline.com/webpages/features/newsonthehour/2010/dec/12/newsbreak-12-12-2010-001.htm

This is because cancer of the prostate is, in most cases, slow-growing, symptom-free, and since men with the condition are older they often die of causes unrelated to the prostate cancer, such as heart/circulatory disease, pneumonia, other unconnected cancers, or old age. About 2/3 of cases are slow growing, the other third more aggressive and fast developing.”

Although many factors have been identified as causes of prostate cancer, Sunday Sun learnt that the most common of them all is genetics and diet.

What you are saying is correct if the Army had the option to arrest him, but all indication show that there was a gun battle between the guy and the Army. It is fair to assume he was gunned down in the process.

Now don't tell me the Army were wrong to defend themselves in the face of an open gun battle with this guy.
Self defense apart, I do not support capturing him alive and wasting tax payers money[the same people he tortured] to feed and prosecute him. Do you know how much the US federal government spent in tracking and successfully prosecuting and jailing men like Al Capone, Johnny Torrio[papa Johnny] and John Gotti?. All through the years the FEDs and the government were trying to protect their equal rights laws, these men killed and maimed Americans like there is no tomorrow and all the government needed then was to put a slug in their brain and hundreds or thousands of life will be saved.

They may stomp, loot and usurp but they are yet to kidnap people in geometric progression like MEND and Osisikankuw. I recommended the same treatment for Adedibu but Obasanjo was afraid of him. The same measures are used to gag looneys like Julian Asange and watch the government use frivolous measures to put him away for life. Terrorists are held, watre-boarded and killed  at the  GITMO and some of them are not even confirmed to be real terrorists. Are you saying the US is wrong for doing that and may be advocate they catch them in action first before arresting them?. Finally, all hands are not equal and no matter how we preach equality, the legal system will always give exception to the blue blooded. Richard  Cheney is indicted in Nigeria and he is not even batting an eyelid over something I'm sure he is guilty of, rather Halliburton is paying Nigeria off with $500M. Why not commit the same crime as an ordinary citizen and watch what EFCC or FBI will do with your a$$.

Osisikankwu is a category 5 terrorist and people like him should be apprehended by the law enforcement alive or dead. He was extremely dangerous and trying to catch him alive might not be possible. Didn't you read that he opened fire on them before they took him out?. Are you suggesting they should lie low and use hide and seek to catch a notorious robber who had no regard for people's lives?. Get real abeg.

Like I said before, people like him had access to billions of Naira he usurped from his victims and with that amount, he can buy himself out of the shackles of the Nigerian legal system and even contest for governorship in River state and may likely win through the joint efforts of his disciples and the billions he stole from the populace.

actually dude i think the person displaying the poverty mindset is you. it is because of thinking like yours that the world is the way it is today. all these companys go all over africa and other places to plunder all the resources required to make these cars and leave those places completely uninhabitable and toxic and then the products they manufacture with these things are sold 1000th fold the exploitative prices they gave the africans. so in essence they have committed 2 crimes. damaged the ecosystem of the place and exploited the people. then myopic people like you who worship materialism encourage the crime with your kind of mindset. all kinds of unnecessary things are being built because of people with your kind of mindset who worship materialism. when will it all end ? when the resources are so used up and we start killing each other for whats left ? you have to make a stand with your dollars. stop with this your poverty mindset of being wowed by materialism. this is not the way for the world to heal itself. this is not a 'money' thing, it is a 'responsibility' thing.  i dont care how rich i become, even if i have 1 billion dollars, if i can get away with driving a bicycle then thats what  i will ride on. the funny thing about africans ? they are the most exploited people and yet they are the first to be wowed by the products of their exploitation. funny
Can you tell us what these companies stole from Africa to make their vehicles?. Give us an example of what they stole and how the absence of what they stole made Africa uninhabitable?.

Also, assuming your assertion is true, did they put gun in the heads of those Africans who bought their products?.
