Politics / BREAKING: Court Finds Former Nigerian Governor Guilty Of Fraud by Alphasoar(m): 3:52pm On May 30, 2018
A High Court of the Federal Capital Territory has found a former Taraba State Governor, Jolly Nyame, guilty of some counts in the charge of fraud brought against him.

Mr Nyame was charged on a 41-count for allegedly diverting N1.64 billion while he served as governor of the state between 1999 and 2007.

The prosecution, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, presented various witnesses who alluded to the fact that Mr Nyame approved the diversion of of various funds amounting to over N345 million to a company, Saman global, within five weeks in 2005, among other allegations.

Despite claims by Mr Nyame that he never knew the said company, the court found him guilty of breaching public trust after noting that the ex-governor confirmed approving the memo wherein the order for the transfer of the funds was made.

The court held that Mr Nyame is guilty of over half of the charges.

According to the judge, Adebukola Bankole, the actions of the perpetrators under the watch of the ex-governor can be likened to the story of Alibaba and the 40 thieves

The court is, however, yet to deliver it’s final verdict.

An application by the defendant for a no-case submission was dismissed in March after the judge ruled that Mr Nyame had good reason to enter his defence.

Mr Nyame’s case was brought before the court in 2007.

cool Illegal Satellite Campuses of Ambrose Alli University.

“For the avoidance of doubt, anybody who patronises or obtains any certificate from any of these illegal institutions does so at his or her own risk,” the publication reads.

According to the publication, certificates obtained from these sources will not be recognised for the purposes of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), employment and further studies.

The commission said the relevant law enforcement agencies have been informed for necessary action.

Meanwhile, the NUC Director of information and Public relation, Ibrahim Yakasai, in a telephone conversation, told PREMIUM TIMES that the commission has not relented in its effort to shut every illegal institution in the country

According to Mr Yakasai, “we continued publishing the lists so that the illegal universities don’t resurface. If we stop publishing their names, they could move to other part of the country and start operating because at some point, they were moving.
We have been producing the editorial for so many years. We update it as we get information across the country that some institutions are operating illegally. We go there and once they know we are coming, they run away,” Mr Yakasai said.

PREMIUM TIMES reported how the NUC confirmed that a senator, Foster Ogola’sPhd certificate is invalid; as the institution he attended is among the illegal universities.

An investigation revealed that the senator, currently representing Bayelsa West senatorial district, has fake credentials from an unaccredited university in Nigeria named GMF Christian university.

The National Universities Commission of Nigeria is a government agency promoting quality higher education in Nigeria.

The commission is saddled with the responsibility of granting approval for all academic programs run in Nigerian universities and granting approval for the establishment of all higher educational institutions offering degree programs.

Politics / Governor Shettima Orders Bet9ja, Nairabet Agents To Leave Borno State by Alphasoar(m): 1:21pm On May 24, 2018
Borno State Governor Kashim Shettima yesterday said the state government will take proactive measures in addressing the adverse effects of online gambling as well as drug and substance abuse among others.
Shettima stated this while speaking at the 14th Annual Ramadan Lecture organized by Borno Radio Television Corporation in Maiduguri on Sunday.

“I have given directives to all Bet-Naija and Nairabet agents in the state to leave immediately. Drug and substance abuse gives birth to all immoral vices hence government’s determination to fight all forms of social vices,” Shettima vowed.

The governor enjoined Muslims to unite for the common cause of salvaging the state.

Dr. Umar Alkali, in his lecture titled “Education for Girl Child and responsibility of Muslims” implored Muslims to invest in the education of orphans and vulnerable ones for future prosperity.

But is usually something that takes away ALL your worship due to Almighty God.

When God says, Come and worship me. You will be doing kpasko.
But when Baal says, Answer me NOW. You will run and answer it FAST-FAST.

That is Baal.
