I have added cabbage to beans before. I was trying to lose weight, so I was adding veggies into any food I cooked. It was actually nice. Gave it some crunch . And yes, I achieved my weight loss goal.
Thanks very much! Good job with your weight loss goal.
SoapQueen: I was going to say that but I didn't want to come off as hateful. I can't eat her food. I do not know how to cook much either but I've seen photos of what some guys here are doing. I saw their food ehn, and the food looked so good that I started eating so much food in real life. My appetite increased like mad. Those guys know how to throw it down in the kitchen.
I appreciate your feedback, whether likeful or hateful. It is not expected that everyone will like every type of meal equally. But letting go of inhibitions and being open to new ideas is one way to embrace changes. I can bet you will never eat raw fish (sushi), but whether you like it or not, it's a great delicacy in far East countries like Japan.
Cooking is an art, open your eyes to new possibilities dear.
ceeceeco: I dislike all these swag pattern of cooking, just cook food normal for someone to eat. I doubt this food will be as delicious as a normal pattern of cooking beans.
When you have not yet tasted it, how can you be certain it won't be delicious? The constant thing in life is change, tradition must meet innovation at some point....
Thanks so much for your wonderful comments, highly appreciated.
To my fellow beans lovers, Una dooh una Sabi better thing . Beans is one very good meal but unfortunately oftentimes people are not inclined to eating it due to personal preference for rice or the other regulars. Till tomorrow it is a major menu in many restaurants and cafeterias....e get why....
Well, I love beans and will continue to enjoy it in many more creative ways. This particular recipe is very delicious and worth trying out but you can also share how you prepare yours so that we all learn.
dubaino: The Difference Between Coca-Cola and Pepsi, , Whether you’re a casual soda drinker or a soft drink fiend, odds are you have a strong opinion when it comes to the longstanding rivalry of Coca-Cola versus Pepsi.
The Coca-Cola Company and PepsiCo are two of the largest and most recognizable food and beverage brands in history, each with hundreds of products sold in markets worldwide. From television and print ads, to celebrity endorsements and iconic product placement in feature films, the companies’ influence knows no bounds. But despite their current international dominance, both of these megabrands had humble beginnings.
WHICH IS YOUR PREFERRED?
For me the difference is in the taste, I prefer Pepsi cos it's milder to my taste buds
I need to try this. Not any time soon though, my Gastrointestinal tract has seen alot this past few days
There is a remedy for it. I noticed over time that garlic helps to reduce flatulence and bloating after eating beans. So have no fear, this particular beans meal will not trouble you
Hi All, beans porridge is a great tasting meal that's very satisfying any time. Please check out my recipe with some yummy upgrades and try it out today
Mariangeles: Fruits are very important, and should be an integral part of our diet because they contain antioxidants which are essential for human health. Antioxidants mop up free radicals in the body that can damage the body’s cells and lead to diseases, such as cancer.
According to Medical News Today Eating a diet high in fruits (and vegetables) can reduce a person’s risk of developing heart disease, cancer, inflammation, and diabetes.
Citrus fruits (like oranges, lemon, grape fruit, lime...) and berries (like strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, bananas) may be especially powerful for preventing disease.
Did you know that Oranges also contain high levels of pectin, which is a fiber that can keep the colon healthy by binding to chemicals that can cause cancer and removing them from the colon?
I read a guy's comment that said he could never buy oranges, mangoes, red apples...with his money, and the comment left me wondering what fruit do you like then? I mean, what more options are there? and that comment led me to create this thread, so that those who don't know, can know the importance of eating fruits.
So guys, what is your favourite fruit? What is/are the fruit(s) you can't tolerate?
For me, I like variety of fruits, but sweet oranges are my favourite. I cannot stand cashew! Urgh! I'm allergic. As for pineapples...let's just say my mouth let's me know when it's had enough.
Crunchy Chicken is a yes anytime any day. You can make this in the comfort of your home and enjoy to your satisfaction. You don't have to break a bank to enjoy the things you like eating.

IbrahimMav: Like I have stressed earlier, I'm very health conscious. I just don't cook or fry my foods with any oil.
I don't know if you have heard about Soybean oil but it's not like the average vegetable oil you see in market, it has a type of cholesterol known as good cholesterol that aids in digestion and generally protects the body from heart attack and stroke.
Not every cholesterol is bad. good cholesterol can also be found in butter (real butter not margarine), olive oil, and lard( cooking oil extracted from Pig).
If you cook with oil that has good cholesterol, you'll live a long and healthy life.
Remember that it is human beings that conduct researches and that every research has a certain amount of bias associated with it. So there is always a disclaimer to every research outcome based on the hypotheses applied during the study.
I agree with you again that soybean oil contains cholesterol which is considered as good cholesterol. However, according to some studies, the good cholesterol is a factor of its relatively lower levels of cholesterol when compared to other types of cooking oil.
This implies that there is still cholesterol in soybean oil such that if you do not consume it in moderation (emphasis on moderation) you will still increase your chances of having heart disease because of the increase in the overall quantity of soybean oil cholesterol in your diet.
What I said before and am still saying again is that moderation is key.
IbrahimMav: acrylamide link to cancer hasn't been disproved oo, in fact it's very present in baked products and more so in toasted (burnt) baked products.
Studies said you'd have to injest a great deal of acrylamide for it to constitute a threat, but how do one know the amount that would constitute a thread? injesting it every day or once a week?
mehn life no get duplicate oo, when it comes to what I eat or drink, I'm very cautious.
I have cultivated the habit of avoiding baked goods entirely, or eating a food served on a plastic plate, or drinking water from a plastic satchet or bottle, or anything that would come close to giving me cancer.
if it isn't cooked or fried, I'm not eating.
The bolded section in your response is exactly what I meant by saying moderation is important. I am not in support of excessive injestion of any kind of food because too much of everything is bad.
Taking a cue again from your words, I can tell that you like eating fried foods. I hope that you are well aware that fried food is a big topic in discussions regarding the relationship between cholesterol (in frying oil) and heart diseases.
I will recommend that you apply whatever works for you instead of pitching a narrative that favours only your point of view. Remember that one man's meat is another's poison
IbrahimMav: toasted bread/cake contains a higher amount of acrylamide than untoasted bread/cake, acrylamide is a chemical that has been linked to cancer.
Agreed that some studies have linked acrylamide to cancer but there are also numerous other studies that have disproved this link. Look around you there are a million and one foods that we eat today that have links with cancer but we still eat them "sometimes", the important thing to note here is moderation.
I don't expect that you will eat cakes or toasts all day, everyday, forever.
NaBanga: I am confused. Is this not a "waffle"? What makes this a "cake"?
Indeed the batters are very similar but I would say that the main difference between waffles and this toasted plain cake recipe is the type of press process used. Waffles are typically made with a "waffle maker" that creates the traditional special grids.
