After the maiden National Convention of OMPAN - a meeting point of all online media practitioners in Nigeria that are interested in enthroning discipline, ensuring that professional ethics and conduct are observed, OMPAN members that attended this convention appointed some of her members from across the 36 states of the federation to pilot the affairs of this VERY IMPORTANT organization.

The convention resolved to appoint the members of her National Executive Council (NEC) as it was very clear to all that the body was not ripe to go into an election.

We are by this statement, informing the general public to please take note of this information and deal with the appropriate persons.

The Imo State Government has expressed Willingness to Support the National Convention of the Online Media Practitioners Association of Nigeria(OMPAN) coming up later this March.

The Convention which is billed to hold in Owerri the Imo State Capital will have in attendance Online Media Practitioners across the 36 States of the Federation and the FCT.



Speaking on Monday, onbehalf of OMPAN, the National President, Emeh James Anyalekwa, who led a delegation to the IMO State Government House, said the Choice of Imo State for the Convention was for Online Media Practitioners in Nigeria to have the ability to see for themselves the Giant Strides of the Owelle Led Administration in Imo State and also verify some of the negative news coming out from the state.







Speaking for the Imo State Government, the Chief of Staff, Chief Uche Nwosu who represented the state governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, expressed Willingness to Support the Convention.



He said the State Government is a media friendly government, and will contribute to the success of the Convention.



He also thanked the Association for choosing the state for this very important event.



Other Members of the Association who were part of the Delegation are Evang Promise Uzoma Okoro (PRO)Comr Ifeanyi Okali Ubaka(Treasurer)and Prince Ikem from the Imo State Chapter.

The Abia State Government has appointed Emeh James Anyalekwa, (the Executive Director of  Igbere TV and Protem National President, Online Media Practitioners Association of Nigeria OMPAN) as the spokesperson of ‘Face of Abia Youth Mega Summit’ Committee. This was made know by the State Commissioner for Youth Development, Comr. Iyke Anyatonwu in His Office in Umuahia. Anyatonwu said  Anyalekwa was appointed based on his experience in Pageant management and his striking records as a youth motivator.

The inauguration of the committee which held recently at the commissioner’s office was a memorable one as many dignitaries attended the event.



Speaking during the inauguration,  Anyalekwa said:



''This is the first time the state will be having such a mega summit which is centered at bringing Abia State youths and beyond together.  The “face of Abia Youth Mega Summit’ is a face that will represent everything good about the Abia youths to the world. The Queen will ensure that the needs of the girls, boys, traders, students,  the youths in general are not ignored''.



'' I believe that this committee being set up today will not disappoint the state government and the honourable commissioner, rather we will make sure that the youths are not neglected in any way, we will deliver the job and will deliver on time'',he said.



The honourable commissioner for youths development, Comrade Ike Anyatonwu who spoke at the event, revealed that the aim of the Abia youths mega summit was to expose the youths to productive engagements.



''I want to tell you that your decision is our decision, we are not looking at just facial beauty, we are looking at the inner qualities that will make the queen to stand out. I am ready to support this committee to any level in order for our aim in setting up this committee to be achieved. You have our confidence, and I want to urge you people to get the best for us''.

This Morning, at about 9am, the Editor in Chief of Aba City Blog, Ngozi Onwukwe was kidnapped by unknown Gunmen along Ikot Ekpene road Umuahia.

Ngozi who resides in Aba came into Umuahia on an assignment before this disturbing and worrisome incident.

Apart from being a renowned blogger and a front line member of Online media practitioners, Ngozi is a talented web designer who toils daily through many legitimate means to make ends meet. Our website www.abiapulse.com bears the Signature of Ngozi Onwukwe, he designed It among many others. Why Kidnap the young man?

Why would anyone want to kidnap Ngozi? Fingers are pointing. Tongues are wagging. Who has Ngozi offended?

Is journalism now a crime?

Can Intimidation shield public office holders from the scrutinizing eyes of the public?

Will molestation stop the other 'Ngozi's of this world from doing their job?

Are we all going to sit and watch while impunity grows winds, fangs and proboscis?

The Online Media practitioners Association of Nigeria (OMPAN), has condemned in strong terms the abduction of one of her members and the publisher of Abacityblog.com Mr. Ngozi Blessed Onwukwe in the early hours of Friday March 2nd 2018.

Blessed was whisked away on Ikot Epkene road in Umuahia the Abia state Capital while on his away to cover an assignment in Arochukwu Local Government Area.

OMPAN received the news of his abduction with shock, as the development will not speak welt for the image of the State.

The association is using this medium to notify the general public of attempts by unscrupulous elements in Abia state at trying to intimidate and suppress online media practitioners from carrying out our duties.

We therefore appeal that anyone or group that is responsible for this mindless and shameful abduction to immediately release him.

We are also calling on the security agencies in the State to come to our rescue and secure the release of the Journalist unhurt.

The group strongly calls on the Nigeria Government to ensure that safety of Journalists are guaranteed in carrying out their duties within the country, as this is very important in order to preserve our nascent democracy and freedom of information as enshrined in our constitution.

The 52 million naira which was meant for the South East Entrepreneurship Development Center (SEEDC) contract job and renovation of Women Development Center has been swallowed by a mysterious fish in Abia state, Igbere has learnt.

Igbere TV gathered that the contract was given to Phrenemos Intl Ltd and was to be supervised by the current Abia State SSG, Dr. Eme Okoro who is very close to governor Okezie Ikpeazu.

Igbere TV scoped that before now there has been news of the SSG mismanagement of financial transactions and requests for kickbacks from contractors, but this shocking revelation completely broke the camels back as mysterious fish has been alleged to have swallowed the whole money meant for the job.

The investigations done by our reporter reveal that the SSG who was instructed by Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu to oversee the job told the MD of Phrenemos Intl Ltd to open a UBA account with one Glory Emucha in the pretense that UBA is the Bank Abia State government is dealing with, not knowing the reason is for easy access into his account .

After weeks, the MD of Phrenemos Intl Ltd, Engr Emma Uche Adimoha approached UBA to know the status of his account in respect of the contract payment and discovered the unbelievable. Adimoha was told that a 'mysterious fish' has swallowed the whole money.

He discovered that 2 million Naira was paid into his account but was also swallowed by the mysterious fish without his knowledge, meanwhile he had been spending his private funds facilitating the project.

He subsequently discovered that a financial project report was sent to the governor detailing that over N15million that was released has been used in the project.

This simply means that government actually released over N15m for the project and N2m was paid into Phrenemos Intl Ltd.'s account which was withdrawn without his consent and the remaining diverted.

A source revealed to our correspondent that   Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu’s government is already gathering very bad image based on fraud issues linking top government functionaries in his government.

The source also revealed that DSS has already made some arrests in connection with the fraudulent engagement .

The group noted that Ikpeazu, who has been rejected across Igboland only resorted to using Kanu’s name to gain popularity.

The statement reads, “Over the coming days and weeks, Okezie Ikpeazu will be methodically and systematically shredded publicly for his blatant lies against our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and the great IPOB movement he leads.

“It will be in his best interest and that of his Northern handlers to publish whatever material at his disposal that will lend credence to his assertions, chiefly that our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu reneged on agreements reached with him and other South East governors during his interview granted to BBC Igbo Service in the Government House Umuahia.

“He must tell the world, where, when and with whom he met Nnamdi Kanu. We will not allow him to get away with this bare-faced deceit and lies. Lying has become second nature to most of these Hausa Fulani stooges masquerading as politicians in Igboland especially. These peddling of lies and distortion of facts against Kanu is a well orchestrated plan conceived prior to Operation Python Dance 2 which they the governors initiated with Nnia Nwodo.

“They hoped to use compromised media channels like the BBC to peddle these lies that they had an agreement with Kanu when such never happened. Okezie Ikpeazu is a mass murderer cited at the ongoing case review by ICC at the Hague. He is also indicted in ongoing law suit in the USA. The truth about how Igbo governors and Nnia Nwodo out of petty envy and jealousy of the popularity and public acceptance of Nnamdi Kanu arranged for Hausa Fulani soldiers to use the cover of Operation Python Dance to assassinate him is well known to the world.

“Okezie Ikpeazu should keep his testimony and evidence with him because he will soon be called upon to give account of his role in the military invasion and abduction of Nnamdi Kanu and his parents from their home. We are placing the world on notice that Okezie Ikpeazu have never met with our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu despite the fact that Umuahia government house sits on his ancestral land and his father the traditional ruler.

Abia State governor, Okezie Ikpeazu has attacked members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

Ikpeazu said that IPOB members are "Jobless youths that are being used by the devil." He said that IPOB members are emulating their leader Nnamdi Kanu who according to Ikpeazu, acts like  chameleon and speaks from both sides of his mouth.

The governor stated this when he welcomed minister of Labour, Chris Ngige and others, in Abia state.

According to him,

''The problem we have about the issue of IPOB, MASSOB is because we have not been able to manage the potential energy of our youths ''

''They are Jobless, and an idle mind is a devil's workshop'',he stated.

Igbere TV recalls that the governor recently came under fire after he reportedly called Nnamdi Kanu who is the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) a liar and a chameleon in an interview which he granted to BBC Igbo.

IPOB responded by declaring 'war' on the governor and vowed to frustrate his 2nd term ambition.
