Owerri is not up to 5% of the land mass of Imo state for which Imo state was created for development. This was how you Okorocha media people led Rochas to today's situation of ignominy. “ As a result , a total of seven peoples sustained varying degrees of injury while properties worth millions of naira were destroyed .
“ Following a distress call , police patrol team led by DPO , Inland Town Division , rushed to the scene and the fire was put out by local volunteers .

Fire Guts INEC Office In Imo

A fire has engulfed the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, office in Orlu, Imo state.
Vanguard gathered in Owerri, that the incident which happened on Sunday night, for now, has been linked to indiscriminate bush burning.
However, the Public Relations Officer, PRO, INEC, Emmanulla Opara, confirmed this to Vanguard, adding that the source of the inferno has not been known to INEC.
Opara said: “Yes, there was a fire incident it happened on Sunday, but we don’t have extent of damages because I have not been there.”
Also, Vanguard called the Head of Fire service in Imo state, Mr. Japhate Okereofor, confirmed it and said that “It happened very late in the night and that he has only one driver at Orlu fire service station.”

It's a battle to save Imo state.
Okorocha govt built this Eastern Palm university in Ideato south local govt area in Orlu senatorial zone, another campus in Okigwe senatorial zone; and another campus in Mbaise, Owerri senatorial zone, for Imo state university to have a serene environment for university education.

IMSU was temporarily located in shanty houses in Owerri by former governor Evan Enwerem from Owerri, in the same Owerri which hosts all three govt universities and polytechnic in Imo state.

But Ihedioha watched these university facilities and other projects of Okorocha to rot away. Perhaps, Ihedioha sees it as birthright of his Owerri zone to host all universities in Imo state

Owerri regional surface water supply system is undergoing reactivation by gov Ihedioha. It's not yet ready. It supplies treated pipe borne water to about 5 of the 9 local govt areas in Owerri zone; NOT ONLY OWERRI STATE CAPITAL.
This time, pipes may be laid to extend water supply to all the remaining 4 local govt areas in Owerri zone.

People in Orlu and Okigwe zones shall be left with consuming untreated water from boreholes, if gov Ihedioha does not activate Okigwe regional surface water supply project and build that for Orlu senatorial zone. IMSG from Mbakwe era planned these three water supply projects since the 1980s. Only the water supply project of Owerri zone was completed before the military struck in 1983.

If gov Enwerem from Owerri had taken up the realization of Okigwe and Orlu zonal surface water supply projects, and completed them; Owerri, Orlu and Okigwe zones would have developed uniformly. Enwerem dodged work on Okigwe and Orlu zonal water supply projects.

During Udenwa govt, work restarted to complete Okigwe regional surface water supply project. YarAdua commissioned it in 2008, but inept govt of Ohakim could not supply water from it.

Forget emperor Okorocha who knew nothing about governance of a state.
Now, the lot fell on gov Ihedioha to realize Okigwe and Orlu regional surface water supply projects.

Have you seen anywhere in other developed or even fast developing countries without public pipe borne water from surface water supply system?

It's corrupt leadership in Nigeria which denies people the most important commodity - treated pipe borne water - which every reasonable leader provides citizens first, and foremost.

Why is average life expectancy going below 50 in Nigeria where people consume untreated water from boreholes? But life expectancy is going above 70 in countries where people consume treated water from public surface water supply system.
