The 20-year-old Frenchman is one of the hottest young players in football and earns a salary worthy of his status Kylian Mbappe may only just have turned 20, but the Paris Saint-Germain attacker has already emerged as one of the game’s leading players, having helped France to win the World Cup in 2018, during which he won the prize as the tournament’s outstanding young player. Scoring twice in the final against Croatia made him the first teenager to net on such an occasion since Pele in 1958 and helped increase the marketability of the former Monaco ace, who is the game’s second-most expensive player ever behind club-mate Neymar. Indeed, a recent study by CIES Observatory suggests Mbappe is currently the most valuable player in the game. Mbappe's net worth is reported to be just below €100 million (£90m/$110m), but it is difficult to arrive at a reliable estimate given his value continues to grow at an extraordinary rate. A recent estimate by FinApp suggests that he is worth around €71 million (£60m/$80m), though that figure is liable to spiral in the months and years ahead. Indeed, according to Forbes, Mbappe earned over $30 million (£25m) in 2019 alone, making him one of the highest earning athletes in the world. Paris Saint-Germain are paying Kylian Mbappe €20.7 million (£17.6m/$23.2m) per year before tax, according to a biography published in May 2019. He earns just under €10m after tax as of the end of the 2018-19 season and by the time his contract, which runs until 2022, is up, it is believed that he will be earning over €18m per annum from his salary alone. It represents a massive leap from the €1m per year that he earned while with Monaco - and that's before sponsorship deals are taken into account. He is the third-best paid player in Ligue 1 behind club-mates Neymar and Edinson Cavani and, over the course of a deal that began in 2017, he will have made around €87.5m. Kylian Mbappe has a major sponsorship deal with Nike, which he extended in the summer of 2017 before he moved to PSG. Adidas were also interested in swooping for the starlet at that time and were reportedly willing to put €5m on the table. More recent estimates from L’Equipe, however, suggest that Mbappe’s Nike deal is actually worth between €2-3m, although it notes that sponsorship contracts are frequently determined by the performance of the player and the team he is involved in. It is estimated that he is on a similar deal to team-mate Marco Verratti. Kylian Mbappe is a fan of top-end cars and reportedly has a collection of five worth around €780,000. He has a Ferrari, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, BMW and a Range Rover. Kylian Mbappe does a great deal of charity work around Bondy, the area of Paris in which he was born and brought up. Prior to World Cup 2018, he announced that he would give his bonuses for the competition to the Premiers de Cordees charity, which aims to organise sports for children with disabilities. Winning the World Cup meant that he was able to provide them with what was estimated by L’Equipe to be around €300,000, though reported elsewhere to be up to €550,000. Meanwhile, Mbappe gives his fee for each France match he plays – around €20,000 for each game – to a different charity. Additionally, he paid for 25 students from the Jean-Renoir College in Bondy to have an educational trip to Russia during the World Cup. The meeting was part of efforts for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to record overwhelming victory at the gubernatorial election scheduled for Saturday, November 16. A statement by the Kogi governor's spokesman, Onogwu Mohammed, indicates that the two leaders discuss strategies to adopt for the polls. The meeting also had in attendance the APC deputy governorship candidate, Edward Onoja. After the meeting, Faleke said even though he has no vote in Kogi, he still has numerous followers in the state. He promised to reach out to his supporters in the state to ensure that they are fully mobilised ahead of the polls. He said he decided to work for the governor for the sake of unity in the APC. Bello has been reaching out to several APC chieftains in the weeks leading up to the election. The governor has so far gotten an overwhelming endorsement from many of the chieftains who were hitherto not aligning with him. The endorsements received by the governor across political divides is said to have boosted his chances of being re-elected. This is also due to the unending internal wrangling within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The PDP has been facing serious internal crisis after its primary election ended in rancour, with many of the aspirants disputing the final result announced. Despite a series of interventions by senior PDP chieftains across the country, party chieftains in Kogi state have refused to work together. https://www.legit.ng/amp/1263707-kogi-election-governor-bello-hosts-faleke-abuja.html

A video of South Africa’s African National Congress Councillor having sexual intercourse with a ward committee at a tavern has hit the internet. Daily Sun, however, failed to disclose the name and location of the place of business but the ANC councillor was identified as Lawrence Seloane while the lady’s name is Tshepiso Maloka. In the middle of the sex tape, the man could be heard saying: “Ayeye! Etsa wena!” (Do me), while the woman only turns back and smiles at him. When brought to the attention of the ANC Councillor, he said he does not care about the leaked sex tape. In his words, “If there is anyone who thinks I owe them an explanation for video footage that was taken (from a lost or stolen phone) some time ago, and is making the rounds, involving myself and a female colleague, such person o hambe wrong-o!” . “If this was meant to dampen my spirit as both a person and councillor, Aowa! I’m still standing as a tried-and-tested product of the ANC Youth League. “Neither one of us has or will commit suicide for something as natural as consensual s.e.xual intercourse” he said. Maipato Tsokolibane, the Emfuleni municipal speaker reacted to the leaked sex tape, stating the act would have been condemned if they were kids. “These are adults in their private space. If they were kids, we’d condemn it. We don’t know how the video was created. You might find the two were dating and someone is trying to destroy someone. “I understand the woman is a ward committee member. We also have a code of conduct for them. We’re going to investigate further,” she said. Read more here https://thickmatch.com/video-south-african-politician-sex-ward-committee-member-leaks-online/

Former President Goodluck Jonathan has said that if he was given the circumstance, he would still concede defeat to President Muhammadu Buhari. Jonathan who was the incumbent president during the 2015 presidential election said he has no regret for conceding to Buhari up to this moment. Jonathan said this while responding to a question by TheCable on whether he regrets conceding the election in 2015, considering some unsavory developments in the past four years. His words: “Let me thank the young man (Fredrick Nwabufo) from Nigeria for asking me that direct question. Let me put it very clearly. If I have the opportunity in a similar circumstance, I will do exactly the same thing,” he said at the constitutional term limits summit in Naimey, Niger. “I always say that if you want to take a public office you should be ready to make personal sacrifices. If you are not ready to help people, then you have no business going into politics. “What we should also know the process of building a society. People die in the process of building a society. “I have no regret up to this time, no matter the circumstances, I have no regret because what I did will continue to shape political discussions, not only in Nigeria but across the continent. “Some people may not appreciate it, but as we continue to strengthen democracy, people will begin to look at conducts that are acceptable and some that are not. “If the little contribute I have made will help to improve our democracy in the country and on the continent, yes, I will do the same thing again. “Some people raise the issue of people around the president, how do you manage them because there is a tendency for such people to influence the president negatively. “A classical example is what happened in the Gambia. There was a former military head of state who became a civilian president. He now encouraged election. When that election was to take place, people thought he would manipulate the system. Somehow he lost the election, and the voting margin was very narrow, but he conceded that election. Read more here https://thickmatch.com/no-regrets-conceding-defeat-buhari-2015-jonathan/

Godwin Obaseki, governor of Edo State, has said that a second term for him is non-negotiable because he had earned it and anyone that thinks otherwise must be daydreaming. The governor said this on Thursday, when he received members of the Benin Unity League at government house, Benin. He said, “I have said it clearly and I told my cabinet yesterday that second term for me is non-negotiable. I am demanding it because I deserve it and I think I have earned it. We need to have it so we can continue what we are doing today,” he said. “I want to assure you that, this is a fight that we will prevail. We will fight and succeed. If anybody thinks I will back out, he must be day-dreaming because it is not my fight, it is about fighting for the right thing and cause,” he said. “I am not going to back off because I know victory is sure.” Obaseki said nobody had accused him of implementing a wrong policy, adding that the accusations had been on but not focusing on stomach infrastructure. The governor commended the league for understanding where the challenges were coming from and “supporting the truth”. Earlier, Gregory Osa, president of the league, said the socio-cultural and non-political group, established in 1983, comprise notable Benin professionals. Osa said the visit was to join other Edo sons and daughters to say no to the mischief in some quarters to prematurely pull the governor out of office, noting that the move was borne out of selfish motive. “You are providing an enabling environment to make Edo an industrial hub. We are particularly interested in your push to develop the Benin River Port and make Benin Airport an international Airport. You will not only win the battle, but you will also win the war,” he said. There were reports that Adams Oshiomhole, national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), is opposed to the reelection of Obaseki. But Oshiomhole, who admitted that there was a rift between them, has denied plotting to stop the man whom he assisted to succeed him. Oshiomhole was a two-term governor of Edo. Akinlade asks Appeal Court to set aside Abiodun’s tribunal victory on 20 Grounds See full details here https://thickmatch.com/akinlade-asks-appeal-court-set-aside-abioduns-tribunal-victory-20-grounds/ |
Hon. Adekunle Akinlade of the Allied People’s Movement (APM), has asked the Appeal Court in Ibadan, Oyo State, to set aside the decision of the Ogun State election petition tribunal, which dismissed his petition against Gov Dapo Abiodun of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Akinlade, who was the closest rival to Gov Abiodun in the March 9 governorship election, had earlier approached the tribunal, praying it to nullify Abiodun’s election on the grounds that the election was marred with irregularities and over-voting and that Abiodun submitted false information to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). But the Justice Yusuf Halilu-led tribunal on September 14 dismissed the petition, saying Akinlade and the APM could not prove without a reasonable doubt that the election was marred with irregularities. Akinlade, who was not satisfied with the judgement, has, therefore, headed for the Appeal Court, asking it to grant the reliefs earlier sought in petition no: EPT/OG/GOV/01/2019, by declaring him winner of the 2019 Ogun governorship election. In the Appeal Notice filed on Wednesday, a copy of which was made available to thickmatch.com, Akinlade said “the learned trial Judges of the lower tribunal erred in law when, they came to the conclusion that a comparison between Exhibit P331A and P331 (Forms CF001) submitted by Abiodun (at two different elections) did not reveal a falsity in the information supplied by the second respondent in exhibit P331, that is, the Form CF001 which he submitted for the 2019 gubernatorial election.” According to Akinlade, in the form submitted in 2015 for his senatorial race, “Abiodun claimed he attended Comprehensive High School, Ayetoro State Primary School without including the date of attendance/graduation, while in the form he submitted for his governorship election, Abiodun stated that he attended and graduated from International Primary School Ayetoro.” The petitioners also said Abiodun claimed in 2015 “that he attended Saint Joseph College, Ondo from 1972 to 1977 and Ondo High School from 1977 to 1978, whereas in 2019, he only filled in WAEC under secondary school attended without disclosing the name of the secondary school.” Speaking further, Akinlade said, “Abiodun’s Form CF001 in 2015 shows that he attended two separate universities, namely University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University) in 1986 and Kennesaw State University, however, the second respondent in 2019 stated that he did not attend a university.” He maintained that “the falsity in the assertions is easily discernible from a simple comparison of both affidavits,” adding that “the conclusion by the tribunal that Abiodun’s failure to disclose the universities he attended does not amount to falsity is perverse.” The petitioner accused the tribunal of miscarriage of justice and self-contradiction for saying that issue that has to do with Exhibit P331A was a pre-election matter, even after it had held that Section 138(1)(E) of the Electoral (Amendment) Act, 2015 contains an additional ground for challenging the outcome of an election. Also, the decision of the tribunal was faulted by Akinlade who said the panel failed to properly evaluate the documents tendered in prove of non-compliance with electoral regulations and guidelines. According to him, Forms EC8A, EC8B, EC8C, EC8D, EC8D, EC8E, voters registers, and smart card reader report were well-pleaded in his petition and properly tendered without objection at the trial of the petition; saying “relevant facts in support of the contents of documents were pleaded by the appellants at the trial.” The governorship candidate also disagreed with the tribunal Judges by saying “they erred in law and misdirected themselves when they held that the evidence led by PW1- PW34 failed to prove that there was over-voting in the 34 polling units.” Akinlade submitted that the judgement of the Justice Halilu-led tribunal “is against the weight of evidence,” thereby urging the Appeal Court to upturn it. https://dailypost.ng/2019/10/03/ogun-akinlade-asks-appeal-court-set-aside-abioduns-tribunal-victory-20-grounds/amp/

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, on Wednesday, met with no fewer than thirty indigenes of the state, who recently returned from South Africa as a result of the recent Xenophobic attacks in the country. Makinde Deputy, Mr. Rauf Olaniyan, who received the returnees on behalf of the Governor, said that the state was ready to empower its indigenes who are returning from South Africa as a result of xenophobic attacks. While receiving the 30 indigenes, Makinde said that the State would not just give them fish, but teach them how to fish. “I want to assure you on behalf of the Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, that you have no reason whatsoever to go back to South Africa or anywhere again. “We are going to provide for you; we are here for you. The people that you left behind voted for us in your absence and we will tell them that they did not make a mistake. “We are not going to give you money but we will provide for your needs based on your requests when we get your needs assessment through adequate profiling so as to cater for your needs. “I welcome you back. You may not like this, I am happy to see you here. It is not that I like what happened to you. One of you said he left with nothing, but I tell you that is not correct. As far as you are alive there is hope and Oyo State is the hope you need because there is a new dawn in Oyo state. “Because the state is going to create a lot of opportunities in the area of Agribusiness, you have a lot to do. For some of you who are interested in government work, thank God the state has not recruited yet, when the time comes and you have the prerequisite qualifications, you will be considered.” He also enjoined the returnees not to go into crime or lose hope, as the Deputy Governor urged the returnees not to seek a return to any country for the proverbial greener pastures, adding that life would be better for them in the state. “I want to urge you all to inform other Nigerians who are still residing in Saudi Arabia and other foreign lands to return home, because there is plan in place to revolutionise agriculture to create economic opportunities for residents and there will be better plans in abundance for the returnees in Oyo State.” He then proceeded to make cash provisions of N30,000 each available to the returnees as transport fare to their various destinations within the State, pending the assessments of their needs and further actions from the government. Speaking on behalf of returnees, Mr. Lawal Bolatito, appreciated the efforts of the Oyo State Government and further appealed for empowerment and job opportunities for them. https://www.google.com/amp/s/dailypost.ng/2019/10/03/xenophobic-attacks-makinde-meets-30-oyo-indigenes-gives-n900000-victims/amp/

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila says that unpatriotic activities of serving and retired public office holders are responsible for the socio-economic misfortune in the power sector. Gbajabiamila spoke while declaring open the investigative hearing into the Federal Government’s abandoned power projects from 1999 to date. The Speaker, represented by the Chief Whip, Rep. Mohammed Monguno (APC-Borno), expressed his displeasure with the state of power in the country. He said that the motion on the need to review the government’s expenditure on the power sector to ensure sustenance of the power reform programme in Nigeria was referred to the Ad-hoc Committee on Thursday. “You will agree with me that from 1999 to date, the National Assembly has appropriated huge sums of monies in the power sector and there are lots and much to be desired from the sector. “The problem is you and I; we are not patriotic enough in the discharge of our responsibilities to our nation. “Again, I want to state that it is embarrassing that when you pick-up newspaper, what you read is probe, probe, and probe; many heads to roll; EFCC to investigate. “It is time in our nation building to rethink and press the reset button on what we do, how we do them with a view to ensuring that we get value for the monies appropriated for projects,” he said. Gbajabiamila said that Nigerians were virtually in every part of the world largely in search of stable electricity supply, good medical health facilities, quality education among others. According to him, it is time we out our hearts correcting all that is wrong so that we can create an enabling environment for our children. “The constitution of this Ad-hoc Committee is to enable the House in moving forward, take a critical evaluation of monies appropriated vis-a-vis their utilisations. “However, in the course of carrying out this assignment, the committee is at liberty in line with Sections 88 and 89 of the 1999 Constitution (as amended) to invite any organisation, agency, person, either still in active service or retired to make clarification where necessary,” he stressed. Also, Rep. Usman Kumo (APC-Gombe) Acting Chairman of the ad hoc committee, explained that the exercise was aimed at reviewing government’s expenditure in the power sector from 1999 to date. He said that committee was constituted on Wednesday with a clear mandate to investigate the Federal Government’s abandoned power projects. Kumo said that the aim was to find the major encumbrances affecting the projects and to make appropriate recommendations on the ways to complete the projects within the life span of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration. “Having established the powers and legitimacy of our action, we are here today to provide all relevant stakeholders the platform and opportunity to make their informed submissions and contributions on the matter. “We, therefore, urge you to be objective, truthful and observe decorum throughout our sitting here today,” he said. Stakeholders at the event include Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Power, Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), management team from all the Distribution Companies (DISCOs) and GENCOS, among others. But sani he beat the odd and did what other governors can't do and have never done Amarachi1990: |
The lawmaker, who represented Kaduna Central Senatorial District in the eight National Assembly, Senator Shehu Sani, has reacted to the action of Governor Nasir El-Rufai, who on Monday enrolled six-year-old son, Abubakar, in a public school. Sani said the governor’s intention was to deceive people outside the locality, who might not know the level of decay in public schools in the state. He said it was designed to score points ahead of 2023 political dispensation. Sani described the action as a badly written Kennywood or Nollywood script, designed for the media, preparatory to 2023. Addressing reporters yesterday in Kaduna, he said the governor’s action “was simply a 2023 political stunt set up for the media and people who live outside Kaduna because those who reside here know what public primary schools look like.” Sani said: “It is not because I have political difference with him, no. But whoever lives in Kaduna State knew that what the governor did with his son by enrolling him in a public school was just a comedy. “Although, it was a badly written Kennywood or Nolywood script, as far as I am concerned that was a bad and poorly written script for the media preparatory to 2023 and nothing else. “He would have done better by upgrading schools in Kaduna. You cannot spend N195million in a particular school and then take your son and the media to that school and think you have done anything different. “Let me tell you, we had a governor in this state, Balarabe Musa, who never lived in the Government House when he was in power. He lived in his private house. I know that the children of former Governor Ahmed Makarfi attended this same Capital School. “I also know that other public officials’ children go to that school too. So if you are not being cunning, deceptive and comical, you would have allowed all your children to enrol in public schools. Public school doesn’t mean primary schools alone, there are public secondary schools and public universities. “He is not new in this kind of drama. It was the same person who was moving around Kaduna-Abuja road with cameras, saying he was chasing kidnappers. So, this is a new script, but as far as I am concerned, that is comedy since we are in an era in this state of using public utilities, public hospitals and now public schools. “So it is also in order that public officials, both elected and appointed, should patronise public toilets in Kaduna. That is the highest form of patriotism and selfless service. You should use what the masses are using, which is public toilets.” Read more here https://thickmatch.com/el-rufais-sons-public-school-enrolment-deceptive-says-shehu-sani/
