Yes it is but make sure your application doesn't claim you want to go there for 3 months or anything that may sound sinister. 2 weeks is ideal.

Hi, all you need is the GWF number along with other details which are personal to her.

She has 3 options.
1. Track for free using the link sent via email from noreply@visas-immigration.service.gov.uk. Click on the link there, log in and follow the steps to track.
2. Make a call to for which you will need to have a card on standby for as you need to pay. +44 (0)300 790 6268 - select option 1

Queries cost £2.74. You will not be charged for any follow-up emails about the same enquiry. You will get a reply to your query within 5 days, except on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and UK public holidays.

Your friend should also be weary of agents. There are so many sad stories here about agents manipulating bank records, using fake credit cards to pay and the applicant being refused and banned. If one must use an agent, it is important to audit and see the final form and all documents before submission to ensure there's no funny business.

Well you can give it a try. But status and nationality mostly doesn't include Visiting Visa. To apply for a Visa your address and many details are required even some will ask you for proof of residency which exclude visitors visa. I am only speaking from experience. I I lived and applied for US visa in different countries including Europe.

I also know that anything is possible with the USA, has they mostly don't care about documents unlike thier European counterparts. So just give it a try

Sorry to hear about your refusal. I agree with the other opinions but there’s something else that they picked up which you need to address. The recent 2m into your account which the ECO would usually class as inflating your account for aesthetics. You should have regular salary deposits and no large amounts suddenly appearing when it’s time to print your statement (they’ll think this is a deliberate attempt at deception). They also mentioned that the savings account statement with £1k was incomplete. Some accounts may not be flagged for a 2m deposit if the transaction value in the preceding 6 months was high. After all, Debbie’s account had over 80m through but when the 2m is an anomaly, it raises eyebrows. To be on the safe side, restrict it to your salary, ensure you are saving a portion of it within the account each month ( you mentioned your salary is 1.5m, if you spend 1m every month and save 500k; within 6 months you’ll have 3m and won’t need to make any large deposits) and also get an updated letter from your company: not just the august 2020 contract. It’s also important that the 1.5m salary each month is seen on the statement and the amount you claim to spend each month must also tally with the statement. I think you should try again in 6 months after getting your accounts clean and just state one reason for your visit- either family, tourism or your certificate renewal and if you pick the latter, please include proof.

You’re right; this is slightly confusing. Why would it apply to people only in a one week window? Perhaps you should engage further to ask what about people who have appointments for further out dates?

Pls my people I have this to share with you , cos this afternoon a lot has gone thru my mind .
In the application i submitted, i made some changes. I added a middle name to my new passport so it can tally with the names on my NIN , which was not on my old passports that carry my expired 6 months and 2 years uk visas. I also told them about an additional source of income .
Note: I provided affidavit for the added middle name.

I was just thinking this afternoon that the delay could
be as a result of these changes. Perhaps they're trying to verify the changes

An unemployed person is an automatic flight risk and therefore needs to prove otherwise. How old is your sister? Is she in her 20-40s? She needs to be doing something. A business or has a career in which case, she’s in between jobs. Or is it due to extenuating circumstances such as health ? Is she over 50? Then she should prove her retired status. Her cover letter needs to carefully explain the circumstances of her unemployment, what she’s up to with evidence to substantiate. I also advise that she goes to a few other countries first.

I was so worried after reading through the threads here as I joined after submission and we didn't include any major information about ties, property etc. and he didn't audit his bank statements to ensure no erratic transactions etc. We just submitted as is. Thankful for God's grace and favour and wishing the same for everybody. Many more celebrations to come.

So much has happened today!! Remember, at 10am this morning, the status changed to sent to VAC. At about 2pm, it changed to received at VAC and the collection email came in. We live close to the TLS centre so we went down there. Got there at about 2.50pm.

You can reapply once the issues outlined have been fixed.

Three months is too long to opt to visit someone. Recommendation is typically 7-21 days.

You also need to include your sponsor’s bank statement as proof they can afford to sponsor your visit.

Your claimed Income should also match what is seen in your statements.

Please go through this thread for detailed guidance on putting an air tight application in and then you can reapply. There’s no mandatory waiting period but it’s best to fix all the issues first so you don’t bank multiple refusals. Goodluck!

Thanks for your concern. Their email said to wait for 10 working days and when I asked when this would elapse, they said by the 17th of January so I don't want to jump the gun before then since they have called out the dates.

Since 6th of Jan? Have you sent them another email to ask WHY you haven't received any mail from TLScontact? Maybe they hvnt authorized the BHC to Release your passport to TLS. I feel you should send them an email and let them know how urgent it is or smtin.

Congratulations. The email we got last Thursday 6th of Jan said a decision had been made on my husband's application. Today is the 11th of Jan and the status on the tracking site hasn't changed yet. 3 Lights, still. No collection email either.

My interview was on the 30th of November 2021 in Lagos. I was with my wife and daughter. Below is the transcript.

Me: Handed over the three passports.

Me: Vacation with my family
V.O: Where are you travelling to.
Me: Miami,Florida
V.O: Is this your first time in Florida
Me: No.
V.O: How long are you staying
Me: 2 weeks
V.O: What do you do for a living
Me: Told him.
V.O: Gave me a white paper and said get your passport in three days time at ......
Me: Thanks

The V.O didn't even ask my wife and daughter any questions.

Note: my travel history to the U.S is about 6 times in last six years mainly for vacation(4 times) and work(2 times) which includes a trip to New York then another trip across the border to canada and back to New York with greyhound line.
Wifey's travel history is 4 times(vacation) and daughter is once(Orlando,Florida).
