The Police headquarters in Abuja Thursday said it received a letter from the British High Commission stating that Mr (Senator) Buruji Kashamu was indeed arrested and tried in a United Kingdom criminal court.

A statement signed by CP Emmanuel Ojukwu, Force Public Relations officer, said that the UK court was however not satisfied that Prince Kashamu had a case to answer.

“However, for the avoidance of doubt, the British High Commission letter in question did not derogate from the extradition request by the US authority pending with relevant departments and agencies of government in Nigeria” it said.

In Chicago US, Ciera Ross a 25-year-old has been arrested for allegedly raping a man at Gunpoint.

According to the report, the mother of two was driving on the North Side of Chicago when they saw the hitchhiking man waving them for a ride.

Ross stopped and asked the 33-year-old man to hop into her car and after driving some distance, she veered off the road into a wooded area, pulled a gun on the man and told him to have sex with her and her friend or he would be shot.

The National Security Council has banned the usage of camouflage uniforms by various security agencies other than the Armed Forces.

This directive was revealed by the Director of Defence Information, Chris Olukolade today.

Olukolade explained that the Nigerian Police will however use the uniform when in Joint Operation with the military or on special operation such as specific anti-riot missions.

A 31-year-old teacher working with a private school in Ibadan, Oyo State, Adebola Adetola, has been arrested by the Oyo State Police Command after the family of a Primary Three pupil (names withheld) reported to the policeand accused him of having sex with their daughter.

The pupil, whose parents said will clock 10 in July this year, was said to have opened up to the parents on Thursday, June 4, on what had been going on between her and her teacher, leading to his arrest on Friday, June 5.
The teacher, who attends a popular Pentecostal church in Ibadan, is due for wedding with his fiancée in August.
