Maybe because he has worked for some years and is still unable to present the real thing. 'To whom it may concern' is not even a statement of result which is not acceptable in most places. So, he should go and speed up the process of converting that heading to an original certificate.

Hahahaha. Well, they can't totally stop it but they can do something here, employee rights have been violated. You give them 3 weeks notice to pack out but if they were to resign and tendered their resignation letter 3 weeks to the date they plan on leaving, they will be served a lawsuit. It is only in Nigeria this kind of crap is condoned.

I go to careers section and read stuff about indians abusing Nigerians working for them. What nonsense! Things they will not try in their home country and these Nigerians as many as they are can't speak up and they remain there forming loyalty and all what not. Anyway, this is Nigeria where we don't know how to be our brother's keeper, every little thing becomes a tribal matter. We love to push things aside and make it look like if it happened to someone from that tribe, it's ok, they deserve it. Until we become one Nigeria we can't put an end to this.

Leave Nigeria totally? . It can't happen na, they only laid off crew members, they still have their customer service agents and all other Nigerian staff in different departments. I think crew members are contract staff, not sure though.

You should come up with something very interesting, so as to get the attention of a prospective employer to grant you audience.

Next is, you want experience in what exactly? because you have some already in different fields already as I see it there. Ajasa4link has given sound advise, try it out though I must warn you some companies may not let you in to even see a receptionist, you will be stopped at the gate by security men and you will be told stories or given false hope - drop your CV with us, we will take it in later... Lol... Reminds me of my first relationship with some cool dude who had just graduated and was still job hunting at that time. I had this friend who was always telling me that the guy was not trying in so many ways and that he wasn't sending me enough airtime and all as per graduate levels na, therefore "he didn't love me enough", as she put it. Poor guy, I started putting pressure on him o...lol, until the guy RAN out of my life!

It's well OP, this kind of thing happens especially to people (those of us) who always see greener grass on the other side only for them (us) to cross over to discover that where they (we) were previously was better off.
