Aude:Well, you are right about the critique, I really should get someone do that for me. Thanks for pointing that out |
Gold45:lol... I laugh . Thanks jare but I have my plans and no, I love being a subordinate because I love to learn and take corrections too. This phase of my life requires I stay under someone, I'm not in a hurry to jump out and start off without proper coaching hence, my search for paid employment. |
Aude:Thanks Aude for speaking in favor of these HR personnel but truth still remains I am confident about my capabilities and I have a very positive mindset. One of which is whoever I finally ACCEPT to be my employer will be at an advantage and to all those companies that have sent regret mails... it's their loss not mine. When it comes to recruitment in Nigeria the process can be altogether crazy and of course these recruiters who keep acting like they know it all and can read through the minds of prospective employees, how wrong they can be! No wonder, they recruit people with rehearsed lines and fake accent... lol. After one month, they will still return here to lament. I'll keep watching, I understand no one will be unemployed for life so very soon I will also be recruiting others, chikina! Life na turn by turn. |
Oh! alright. A friend of mine in abuja had his third interview today with the ED. For us in Lag, the process is hellishly slow! But it's all good. Congrats by the way as you prepare for medicals @ Bcole |
Bcole, what date were you first interviewed? Though haven't heard from them also, still waiting patiently as ever |
Oh! It's a different process in lag then. No interview before the test, until after being successful you shouldn't expect an invite for the first interview |
Dear HR manager, Sorry. In as much as you are pained, we are also more pained. One of these days I will write an article and post my pains too. Truth is we don't know what you recruiters want! I've noticed your preferences vary as well as the format CVs and Cover Letters should take. We apply and get short listed, you bomb us with questions during the aptitude test that has no relationship whatsoever with the job role. Fortunately, we ace the test and are invited for an interview then you make the interview look like a war zone... very hostile looking panel throwing questions at you, other times you meet other HR Mgrs who simply act as though they are doing you a favor, haba! Me, I tire for all of these attitude sef. If there is a particular thing you are looking for just say it! if you want to pay a graduate 20k because we studied in Nigeria then say it as well, it is not when we say what we want you will then post us to a later date, Next week! Not fair jare |
ambassadorgozie:Hahahahaha... It is called searching for jobs in the wrong places (soon, an expert will come and tell us that). |
onizebee:Sorry honey, I don't understand what you mean. after CBT, you are asking for 2nd interview. Or you have already done your first interview and awaiting second? |
Mmmh... Advise flying up and down, it's well o. If only these things are all actually 'do-able' but truth still remains there are certain skills that will be gotten on the job while some others should be gotten before, at least some basic general ICT skills. Personally, before I went to serve, I had plans of writing some professional exams and getting some new skills as well as volunteering to do a couple of stuff in an NGO but mba, I was posted to a rather remote village where even connection to the internet was a major wahala! One whole year of serving in the village but did I volunteer for anything? lol, yes. To teach in a public school for free and what did I get from that volunteer work, HEADACHE! serious noise by junior students who will just be shouting 'mistress, mogbo English o'... hahahaha and the noise for the day begins.Anyway, I still maximized the opportunities available at the villa as I learnt how to cook some local dishes and got some really good presentation skills courtesy of my CDS group sensitizations and I'm honestly grateful for that. At least, I can hold my audience spell bound wanting more for minutes. So, to each one, do whatever there is to winning and achieving success. Most times these tips are just an ideal and the reality is you may find yourself in a place where it would be near impossible to do most of the stuff outlined just make the most of every opportunity and in the end you will be happy for it. I don't waste my time regretting over not serving in the state capital or doing certain things those who served there did, we all have different goals and arrival time is different as well, so, make your moments count! |
SSpeter:Hi, with UBA you will learn patience at its peak! just relax, you've done alot already believe me. I'll advise you keep yourself busy and be developing yourself as well. Infact, I tell you this, you don't want to finally get the invite and then go for the test unprepared and loose out. So while waiting please do yourself some good and be getting set for the invitation, it will come even though it tarries. All the best! |
You can apply through a staff or you submit your CV at the head office if you are in Lagos and max age is 27. |
Mmmmh ... ok. I really wish I could say more but in issues such as this, you can only keep wondering. There are no answers to it because the question is meant to keep you in a state of wonder . Lol, what am I saying sef?The truth is everyone would love to be an employer but if all become employers who will be employed? There will always be those two categories of people in this world and that's the truth. |
Well done guys, I need to acknowledge this thread it helped me when I was preparing to write UBA's aptitude test in September. Like the 5 lepers I return to say thanks and I also hope to be of help to anyone who needs info on test only o cos that's how far I've gone so far with an interview (first interview - one woman not a panel). |
It's been years since I last came on nairaland, I remember when I was seeking admission into the University sometime in 2008/2009, I always got info and was constantly updated right here. Kudos to the moderators. Over to the reason why I reactivated my account, OP nice piece and I commend you for inspiring us. I graduated from University of Nigeria, Nsukka and I graduated ... well, trying to be modest. Truth is while in school I never heard about companies like KPMG, Pwc, Delloite and the rest, in fact I was just doing well academically so as to join the Federal ministries and the likes I was seeing in Enugu. It wasn't until the time I went for service in a south western state I heard about KPMG and applied but unfortunately I just wasn't prepared for what I was about to face when I got invited by dragnet for my first aptitude test. Sadly, my calculator disappointed me right in the hall and I was just not coordinated until I got up from my seat when I saw 'sorry" boldly staring me in the face... for the first time I had failed a test! boy, I was depressed. mmmmh, but I've since gotten over it and armed myself for other tests I've done afterwards. But, I want to say that a lot of undergraduates on campus need better orientation especially about what the labour market is actually like and to be really focused while on campus. They also need to DREAM BIG! I thought my dreams were big enough until I met with other graduates during the course of my service to my fatherland, now I know it wasn't. I have just started to DREAM. And I won't stop until I get to my destination... cheers to all! |
