Accidental woman....mmmh! Cool introduction, you have just put a lot of questions on my mind and I'm curious to get answers.

I'll be following. Kudos but don't keep us in suspense for too long

Olaxtra, well done. Creativity at work however, I feel there is need for one more line, the end doesn't look like it's the end actually.

Consider putting finishing touches so it can have that tick of excellence.

Once again, you have done well!

Anyway, I was here and will always be here to get knowledge and feel like an Oracle too

Hahahaha... Chioma no para yet. My ish is with the display of passports and certificate including the dude's O'level result. I care less about how anyone decide to hunt for a job but for christsake do it well! No employer will recruit out of pity, let's not turn this thing into a pity party.

I believe if there is a naked mad woman on the street and she's not ashamed because she has obviously lost her mind, then I should be because I am a woman!

I don't know how frustrated anyone is and I don't go about with something to measure frustration but if it has not killed you then it should make you better. EVERYONE WILL GET A JOB SOME DAY, IT'S ONLY A MATTER OF TIME!

My dear sister na frustration cos am...
Well, true. Frustration is a bad thing and it is rather a personal thing, what frustrates A may not frustrate B. A friend of mine who just returned home last month from service is complaining as if he has spent 2 years already at home, meanwhile I have spent 3 months and I'm still sane...lol.

Others have spent a year and they have not acted weirdly yet. it's individual difference though.

@Amicable09, kindly send me a PM so I get to see what it's like.

@OP, your desired job is on the way, just hope in God
Honestly, the pm stuff is one thing I'm yet to understand myself, perhaps someone who is knowledgeable about it will need to help us out on that. I have a notification already about an email but I can't even open it, the only option I see is 'dismiss'.

For now I'll keep playing around the wall until I understand where the hidden message is.

You can teach French language in schools as a contract staff while you wait for a big break as I noticed you communicate in the language. I know some people who make some good cash that way including the french teacher I had in Primary school because now I can remember that the lady was never in school like the other teachers... She'll always come to class sweating (lol) and ask 'que ll e la dat ou' jdeoudi'?. I know I havE massacred French now in writing, Please do well to correct me when you read this tongue I can't forget her sha.

Just my suggestion though, you can try it. Happy new Month!

One of those reasons the so called HRs would come here to tag Nigeria Graduates as unemployable. But then, one should not underestimate the power of frustration. It's not a nice situation to find oneself.

Great! Happy to hear that. I once worked at a start-up myself right after service in 2012 for 4 months. They were paying like 40k per month. Left after i got my big break with a multinational.

here a couple of things i learnt working there

a. how to sale; had people who patronized the business because of the way i attended to them (i wasnt employed as a sales man), some still keep in touch till today
b. how to be responsible for my actions; my actions and in-actions had an almost immediate impact on the business.
c. that business is where i want to be; working for someone can be b*t*h. Even though it is important business people always learn the ropes before venturing out.
d. you are your product most times; my bosses then always looked the part.
e. Respect for entrepreneurs; the risks are often so high.
ETC ETC.

Trust me the time is always worth it in the end
Wow! I can't wait to someday share my story like this too. Thanks

Hahahaha... Reading through all these comments I can't help but laugh really loud, seriously some nairalanders need mouth cleansing or finger washing sef.

OP, it's normal for your dad to be upset jare, you will do same when you become a parent too. I trust my dad, he really knows how to push us - his children, very hard just to see us shine bright.

My advise, you know your dad's kind of person then you should not have told him about the course you failed. One of my friends who had an extra course to write after we graduated simply told her dad that her result was missing and that she needed to go back to school and sort it out. It's not like they give report card in the university na. Anyway, you have told him and the man is angry, apologise and put in your best effort and study to make him proud.

Again, I say it is normal for him to say such stuff, don't just fail the course again and he will be happy again cheesy

Did not read. Somebody please summarize.
lol... Take it line by line smiley
The OP actually gave a summary because if I were to write the same stuff mine would have been longer. Truth still remains the choice is ours to make whether we fail or succeed, I realised that for me some people dull my sparkle when they give me false hope. You sit idle waiting for a promised job or whatever it is and as you wait idly days turn into weeks and weeks into months and months into ... God forbid!

So, It is best to take responsibility for your success or failure. October 2015 ends today, we will be ushered into November 1 before we know it. Mmmh...

Pardon me, got your points, would agree with me that using our mother tongue would have been more better? There is no doubt about the benefits of mastering english cos it's the international medium of communication but. But making official lingua, while relegating our own to the background at homes, schools, and facets of the society is a serious hinderance in match to industrial, technology and innovation self-reliance.

Those who are fluent in command of english should commend and those not so good should be condem as long as they can prove themselve knowledgeable in their area of expertise! Thank oyinbo no be my papa and mama tongue cos even americo and brico dey fumble too online.
Have a nice weekend!

FamilyRe: His Room Mate Snores Loud. by amicable09(f): 11:28am On Oct 31, 2015
Well, when I was on campus I noticed something living with room mates in the hostel;
1. People who snore most times don't know they do, takes a lot of convincing from two or three other people for them to agree.
2. During rainy seasons because of cold and blocked nostrils, many people also snore even though it is seasonal.
3. Snoring is hereditary grin... lol
4. Most fat people snore!

OK, remember it is what I noticed o not scientifically proven but it is true from my observation. So, the other room mate complaining that his room mate snores may not know he also snores because he sleeps after his room mate has slept. Therefore, he should try to sleep first before his friend and cover his ears not with head phones o but sth else that is not hazardous to health.

Hope I'm not reading you reading right? YOU ARE HAPPY YOUR CULTURE AND MOTHER TONGUE ARE UNDER ASSAULT! Are you normal?

How many Chineses, Indians, Korean etc have good command of english.

English is the problem that is hindering the rapidly development of the nation. I made bold to tell you, go computer village and other numerous vocational centers all over the country, you will be shock at the level of what the so-called illiterates are doing without good command of english. Many graduates can't even format and install simple app on their smart-phone talk more to doing so on pc!

We placed too much emphasis on paper, even more than white people do!
Chai! Why have you chosen to misunderstand me nna? This is Nigeria where English is officially our Lingua Franca. If you grew up under the same roof with me you would have understood clearly what I mean, your inability to communicate correctly in English was a no-no, simply unacceptable!
Whether or not Chinese, Koreans and Indians don't speak correct English shouldn't be our concern. they can't speak but can format and install apps, Nigerians can't speak English and can't install apps, now should we applaud ourselves?

Mehn! Let's get it right, there is no assault whatsoever. No law says if you can speak your mother tongue fluently then you are exempted from speaking english correctly. Therefore, speak them all and give the British a run for their money.

If not for you I would've said there's no hope for Nigerians anymore. The error that annoys me the most is still "Am" used in place of "I'm".

But really I blame the system not the products. Even those that are in strategic positions to change things are busy siphoning money!
Thanks sweetheart. I see such errors daily on social media, sometimes I correct them, other times I ignore them. Some people don't know how to take in corrections so you just let them be. I make mistakes too and appreciate it when I'm corrected.
I believe we will get there, the nursery and primary school teachers have a lot of work to do but it will surely be done. Have you noticed the number of homes today where parents are speaking correct English with their children? Even parents who are not educated. I listen to my hair stylist as she communicates with her children and even though the tenses are wrong, I love what she is doing and commend her effort.

So, victory is on the way!

There you go again victim of neocolonialism. I was not derogatory towards you I was only complementing your post. Besides only idle mind has time to pick flaws in doting of 'I' s and crossing of 't' s. As I am now I have 3 books to publish and I application to finish b4 year runs out. If not 4 d sake of clarity I prefer to write in pseudocode. Cheers
Hahahahaha... why do I feel like you want to be my friend? Go back and read what you wrote earlier and you will notice that perhaps, you didn't put it the way it should be. Anyway, that's what happens when you read posts cos you can't really read facial expressions and all.

I will therefore say as a lover of peace that I am, congrats on your book publications and all the other big things you are doing... Whatever that means. Cheers!

NYSCRe: Chai!Nigerian Graduate Indeed (PICS) by amicable09(f): 9:19am On Oct 31, 2015
OP he is employable! only depends on what you are employing him to do. Let me also say his foundation in English most likely was faulty therefore he may have to live with this all his life not because correction is no longer possible but it's rather late. He will get better if he consciously strive to improve.

I've noticed also that spoken English and written English are two sides of the same coin. Written English is a lot more difficult, Grammarians will agree with me. Some people speak so well but write so poorly. Some people have while correcting the dude have said it should be 'Am in camp' but then even the 'am' should be written as "i'm". So, let's quit throwing stones and nicely correct in love.

Anyone can make mistakes and anyone can unfortunately never be able to speak correct English, that's the truth! If the foundation be destroyed what can the poor masses do? If you were privileged as a child there are thousands who weren't.

Today, I can appreciate the efforts of my teachers and parents when I see how others battle with English at this old age.

Double thumbs up for you. I think a lot of HR people can sometimes just be hypocrites. Most often, they act like a god who you must appease before you get to your destination. They fail under the same rules they apply to applicants and like you said, you just sometimes don't know what they want.

You are welcome. Remember that I am not a recruiter nor am I in HR. I am just an employee who has come to the realization that it is better to have HR on your side rather than against you.
Hahahahaha... Sure. Nobody wants them to be against the fellow, we just don't want them having an attitude, that's all. After all, the HR was once a job seeker too, so, I see no reason for such behaviour.

Recently, I went for an interview and the lady who interviewed me made the environment so conducive! I wasn't in any way tensed and we flowed very well. Right there and then, I knew I had won her heart but no, I didn't take up the offer because of some reasons. One of which was the bond I was going to sign, didn't quite augur well with my plans.

Then, at another interview the interviewer acted as though she had a personal issue, straight faced and she dished out her questions with such seriousness as though we were in a fight wink. Mmmh, that's why sometimes I just get upset with some of these HR guys... Not with you sha grin
