Elrufai never indulged in all these media fanfare and publicity for local government-tier projects. He simply got the job done. Yet, Abuja was safe, secure and clean during his watch. Wike should leave the spotlight and get to work. |
zero8zero:Fashola inherited 100 billion naira debt from Tinubu as far back as 2007. Ambode inherited 432 billion naira debt from Fashola. Elrufai inherited over 220 billion naira debt from Ramalan Yero. None of these prevented them from delivering good governance. Tinubu's successor will also inherit debt in trillions of naira. Uba Sani is simply incompetent.
|
Uba Sani thinks he can use PR and paid influencers to run a cosmopolitan state like Kaduna. The reality on the ground is a far-cry from what he tries to portray online. From the non-payment of minimum wage to the fraudulent "groundbreaking" on roads that get abandoned, to the commissioning of incomplete projects like the 300-bed hospital, man is living in his own crafted delusion. All traffic lights installed by Elrufai are poorly maintained and Kaduna is no longer as clean and green as it used to be. |
Lol. The turnout will still be abysmal. In Kaduna, he had to pay influencers to publicise his visit.
|
EponObi:Beyond the laughing emojis, you're clearly scared. |
Wike is busy commissioning bus parks with so much media frenzy and granting interviews to TV stations via paid airtime where he can gloat about his political opponents. |
Playing the victim? APC weaponised religion to win in 2023. They are now attempting to use ethnicity to rally support for Tinubu in the Southwest come 2027. This is being openly championed by Senior Special Assistants and serving aides to governors on social media and even in radio stations. Wrong strategy because Southwest votes alone, cannot retain Tinubu as president.
|
Lol. Someone is using strong-arm tactics to compel Adeleke to succumb by all means. This is coming from a state where he allegedly comes from. The entire Southwest is still not fully in the grasp of the APC as some would have us believe. The North made Tinubu president in 2023. |
Maxymilliano:They have looked at the numbers. The president's approval rating is still abysmally low. With Jonathan coming into the race and running under the structure of the PDP, there's no solid pathway to Tinubu's re-election. In such scenario, Tinubu wouldn't win any other region outside the Southwest and even the Southwest wouldn't be a landslide victory. |
Bayo Onanuga didn't have to write out a novel to "welcome" Jonathan into the race while threatening him with the courts. It only reeks of fear and trepidation. APC keep screaming, "it's the turn of the South" but other Southern politicians like Jonathan and Obi are clearly being frustrated out of the race by scuttling all other opposition parties in what is clearly an undemocratic move. Should all Nigerians fold their hands and allow Tinubu to run unopposed? |
Godfullsam:You are calling out the governor of the state to confront terrorists with sophisticated high-grade weapons. What can he do about that aside negotiating with them? Is he the Commander-in-Chief? I don't think you people fully understand this governance thing. You only want the perks and benefits for you and yours, without the responsibility. The government seems to be only concerned with actively politicking for 2027 right from day one.
|
Sad. Studying the patterns of previous negotiations with bandits in the Northwest, it was always going to lead to insecurity somewhere else. It is a temporary solution. The negotiations with bandits in Zamfara during Matawalle's tenure as governor only increased insecurity in Kaduna and opened a new front in Niger state where the governors refused to negotiate. Until these weapons are retrieved or the terrorists killed, it's hard to believe they can ever fully stop. |
RISQUE:Them no dey tell person. They will either do so or get swept away by the Tsunami. |
Softmirror:I guess you hold the same view as the foundational lawyer above who believes the insecurity in Nigeria is the fault of Nigerians who are killing themselves and so, government is not to be blamed. Abuja has never been this unsafe and you would rather we don't talk about it because you feel politically embarrassed? |
zero8zero:You APC supporters seem to have sold your souls. No single empathy and sense of responsibility. Here's another brain fart from a supposed lawyer on twitter just because they want to continue to enjoy government patronage. Meanwhile, Tinubu had words for Jonathan to the contrary when he was seeking power.
|
News repetition. This same story has made the news severally, but not even a bush path has been cleared. Same way there was so much frenzy about the Regional development commissions but no single disbursement till date. It's not about allocating funds on media and making so much noise about it. It's about actual disbursement and execution of the projects until completion. |
He engineered Lagos finances by increasing taxes, empowering touts as tax collectors and channelling all into his pocket with no accountability. Twenty years after, he has refused to let go of the state because he still feels entitled to its resources.
|
WhizdomXX:We are talking about how voter apathy may affect election results. Can a polling unit bring out inflated number of votes that's more than the actual number of people that turned up to vote and got accredited? Does the current electoral act allow for BVAS to be jettisoned in the voting process? |
WhizdomXX:Unless INEC decides to jettison the accreditation process which is done using BVAS. That will be contrary to the electoral act. Can they write out more numbers than were accredited at a particular polling unit? That will be rolling back every single progress made with the electoral reforms. |
Well, we may not have the full list but I can assure you that Late President Muhammadu Buhari donated generously to the akant.
|
The Paul Biya attributes continue to manifest day by day, but some Nigerians will rather bury their heads in the sand. |
Who is afraid of Goodluck Jonathan? It is all too convenient that Otedola is becoming vocal about this again after news of Jonathan making a comeback gained traction. Jonathan last held power 10 years ago and currently enjoys no immunity. Tinubu should waste no time in persecuting him if he finds him culpable. |
Una think say na only Wike go chop for this government? The father of Ganduje's children is also the "GM of so many companies". |
guass:Go for an eye test. |
Wike's in-laws are so rich that they have enough money to will 4 properties in the US worth millions of dollars to their grandchildren. Wike can also afford to drive a Rolls Royce as a career public office holder because his father was the "GM of so many companies". |
RevenuesBoost:No matter what anybody tells you, the federal government is in charge of security in this country. That is why the president is the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces. If Tinubu intends to shift that responsibility, then he should relinquish the title. The State governments can only negotiate with the bandits, which is what most of them have now resorted to doing. |
Kudos to the DSS for testing the matter in court but notwithstanding, the "Paul Biya" tendencies are still clear for the discerning to see. |
The negotiations with bandits are highly unpopular in the North, but the people have no choice because the government seem to have forsaken them. The current minister of state for defence negotiated with bandits in Zamfara, and it failed, but Tinubu still deemed him fit to be appointed as minister in charge of security. This was someone who only became governor under PDP because the courts nullified the APC primaries, and still failed to win his re-election bid after decamping to the APC. Tinubu betrayed the people of Zamfara state who voted for him by appointing someone whom they rejected through the ballots, as minister. |
Reno Omokri who spent the better part of Buhari’s eight-year tenure selling the Leah Sharibu story with an authored book and cashing out on her plight via donations from country to country is now denouncing the killing of Christians in Nigeria. He's a major reason why the narrative that Christians are being singled out and killed in Nigeria gained traction in the international community. He's now lapping up his own vomit because he has been put on payroll.
|
jchioma:He took after the religious arm of the Buhari support base while Elrufai took the political arm, especially the young Northerners. The optics of Elrufai, Pantami and other close associates of Buhari being in the same party will be fatal to Tinubu's chances in the North. Northerners will take dressings from their leaders. That's why Tinubu will give an arm and a leg to have Kwankwaso decamp to the APC, but even that won't be enough. |
Dada Olusegun is no longer laughing. Tinubu is now openly chasing after the Buhari bloc after alienating them from his government. Lessons will be learnt. Pantami's presence at the last ADC meeting sent jitters down their spine. As usual, agbadorians will be here to whine you that Pantami is irrelevant but their principal knows better.
|
Itzlinda:So, a typical Southsoutherner will see Jonathan and Obi on the ballot and vote Tinubu right? A typical middlebelter will also see Jonathan and Obi on the ballot and still vote Tinubu with the Muslim-Muslim ticket, right? We joke too much but lessons will be learnt. |
