seunmsg:Indeed. I think you all should be worrying about Jonathan, not Atiku. Better tell Wike not to fail in preventing Jonathan from getting the PDP ticket. Atiku will contest the primaries under the ADC. The primaries will be free and fair. If Atiku didn't stand any chance and is inconsequential, you wouldn't be so bothered and worked up about his candidacy. If Atiku wins the primaries, whoever is dissatisfied can go get a free ticket elsewhere or vote Tinubu. All stations settled. |
It's the turn of Tinubu. Emi lokan. He really believes it. That's why he wants no Southerner asides him on the ballot. |
seunmsg:Football age aside, is Atiku older than Tinubu? Why didn't Tinubu step down for his younger brother, Osinbajo? You are talking about zoning but APC is telling Jonathan not to contest while preventing Obi from running under the Labour party, all while screaming "It's the turn of the South". Does he mean it's the turn of the Southwest? Why is Tinubu afraid of contesting against his fellow Southerners? |
Walai:Okay, assuming but not conceding that all what you said are true, what would your candidate do if he gets a free ticket and meets Tinubu at the polls who has money to spend? Ask Tinubu to step down? You all are not ready. Not even Jonathan, a former president will get a free ticket under the PDP. |
Kingju:What are you talking about? I am talking about Elrufai being the first governor to introduce electronic voting in Kaduna for local government elections. Which part of that is propaganda? APC lost local governments in Southern Kaduna. It was free and fair. Is there any state in Nigeria today where an opposition party can win a local government against the ruling party? Uba Sani came in and repealed the law and the LG election he organised was openly rigged. Elrufai has never been afraid to lose an election. He lost his polling unit as sitting governor at the electronic LG election I was referring to. https://www.channelstv.com/2021/09/04/lg-elections-el-rufai-loses-polling-unit-to-pdp/ |
SmartPolician:If there's none that can beat him in a party primary, then how can such candidate defeat Tinubu in the general election? Will the candidate also pressure Tinubu to step down? And before you come up with your tired "dollarised primaries" cliché, Atiku has lost primary elections several times in the past. 1993 Vs MKO: He stepped down and supported MKO. 2011 Vs GEJ: He came 2nd and supported Jonathan. 2015 Vs Buhari: He came 3rd and supported Buhari. These are the years he didn't get the ticket. Atiku has paid his dues and he's not asking for free ticket. Simply contest the primaries and defeat him at the polls or go form your own party. |
99thEnemy:Are you sure he's just advocating for this for the first time? Elrufai is not una mate o. Na see-finish dey cause all these things.
|
Kingju:Yes. The first and only governor to introduce electronic voting at local government level. APC lost some local governments at state LG elections during his time. Something unheard of at the time. He also enforced full local government autonomy as governor of Kaduna. Uba Sani came into power and repealed the electronic voting law, going back to manual voting.
|
gigabyte13:Believe it or not, Elrufai is a cerebral collusus. He was the Chairman of the APC committee on True Federalism and submitted the report to the party since 2018. https://x.com/elrufai/status/1794619746572202204?lang=en |
Today, Bishop Kukah now believes Nigeria is in a better place on insecurity and there's no genocide of Christians because he's now a Tinubu appointee. This was not his position two years ago under Buhari. Well, either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become a villain.
|
Even if he doesn't end up contesting (he will contest), APC are shooting themselves on the foot with these constant attacks on Jonathan, who hasn't even openly declared an interest yet. His people from the Southsouth are taking notes. |
Why not say that to Bishop Kukah, Reno Omokri, FFK and Co who promoted that narrative for years? Reno even wrote a book on Leah Sharibu and travelled the world selling the story that Boko Haram are killing christians in the North while receiving donations. It has simply come back full circle now and has matured. Now that the world is ready to listen, they are denying what they said. It is only ironic that those who fanned that narrative are now appointees and allies of the government. Could they have been sponsored? Nigerians do not need any foreign propaganda to vote out Tinubu at the polls. P.S: Kukah is now an appointed Pro-Chancelor of a university while Reno is a pseudo-spokesman and image maker. No more noise about the "massacre" of Christians from them. You don't talk while eating and they have exceptional table manners.

Konquest:Phew! All that hyperventilation with spit spewing out of your mouth is all for what? Simply make your own comments and move on. Campaign for your Tinubu in peace and keep it moving. Stop seeking my validation and that of other nairalanders, it's pathetic. I have never noticed your comments or your moniker. You simply do not exist to me neither do I care where you come from or who your friends are. Don't bother responding to this comment, I won't reply. |
Who would tell Wike that being FCT Minister goes beyond doing groundbreaking for 2.4km roads with so much media pump and pageantry? Abuja is now more unsafe and dirty under his watch. |
At this point, it's beginning to look like mockery. Tinubu said they have delivered on their promises while Akpabio is preaching endurance of pains and suffering. |
Warrior99:On the contrary, Tinubu had a poor and almost disgraceful outing in Ibadan. From the whole Taye Currency insult to the body language of Seyi Makinde. If you are in Ibadan, then you will know Ladoja is more of an Atiku man than Tinubu. He supported Atiku in 2023. He will no longer be seen to be actively partisan as a royal father and that is okay. |
There were more cars in that convoy than actual people that turned out to receive him. The same was the case in Kaduna despite paying Arewa influencers to run twitter ads and publicise the visit. Clearly, the rejection is nationwide.
|
Delusion is one he'll of a drug. This is what happens when you're always surrounded by sycophants singing the mandate song at every corner or turn. |
Jayhome24:You and your village people can go support Tinubu in peace. Jonathan doesn't need your advise. You can shove it where the sun don't shine.
|
Tareq1105:I am a Nigerian and he won't lose the respect I have for him, even if he contests and loses. You better start making peace with the fact that Jonathan will be on the ballot in 2027. All these gaslighting won't work and you people are beginning to sound pathetic with this "respect" line. What can be more respectful than aspiring to be president? The Punch is being sensational. Of course the party won't come out to say its ticket has been automatically given to Jonathan when the likes of Seyi Makinde are hopeful, but we all know he's the man to beat. |
The goal was obviously to get temporary respite so they can brag about having solved insecurity just in time for election. They knew it would come back in full force once they stop paying up. They just didn't envisage that the insecurity merchants will take their business elsewhere or that a "Cobra Effect" will take place. |
Would he prefer he pick up arms like the bandits are doing? |
kingbee90:Not only Osinbajo, bright leaders like Fashola, Fayemi, Ambode, very nearly Sanwo-olu are all portrayed as betrayers as soon as they dared to dream or become independent. Tinubu is in his eighties. Which contemporary politician will the Southwest look up towards afyer his reign. Kwankwaso and other Northern leaders left Buhari and even contested against him but they remain relevant and no Norrherner calls them betrayers merely for doing so. |
Good. Happy to see Osinbajo coming back into the political space. The Yorubas will need cerebral Omoluabis to chart their future when Tinubu is voted out in 2027. In hindsight, his short but famous campaign speech at the APC primaries now makes a lot of sense, "Vote for who you know, don't vote for who you don't know". He was trying to warn Nigerians. |
zelnababa:There is your fellow tribesman accusing Ladoja of supporting Atiku in 2023 for money and affirming he will do the same in 2027. Like you were told, if you know you know.
|
blamingthedevil:Elrufai is 65 years old and very agile and fit for a man of his age. Wike is 56. |
happney65:You know ball! |
zero8zero:There you go. I know you won't be back. You will disappear like the stench of a leprous witch. Uba Sani became a senator from being Elrufai's special adviser due to the loan. He replaced Shehu Sani whom the people of Kaduna voted out for refusing to approve the loan. He was the guarantor for the loan. The acquisition of the loan was widely supported by the residents of Kaduna and nothing was hidden. The results are also on ground. You only need to visit Kaduna to see for yourself. Uba Sani is just like Tinubu, they are both masters of treachery and betrayal. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.vanguardngr.com/2020/03/hold-me-responsible-if-el-rufai-fails-kaduna-senator-uba-sani/amp/
|
tunjijones:You're right, but probably not on the first ballot. Take Obi out of the equation and the same outcome will be the case. Jonathan contesting will ultimately seal Tinubu's fate. I expect him to do everything to prevent Jonathan from grabbing the PDP ticket. |
madridguy:You seem very much invested in these topics. This was your comment upon the death of the 4th one last week. https://www.nairaland.com/8524237/four-deaths-too-many-photos#136881424
|
lexy2014:Yes. Do you want more receipts? Here you go. Northern influencers are cashing out on Tinubu and will still vote "wisely". If you like, no collect your money.
