If votes didn't count, politicians wouldn't be splurging cash to buy votes. Where I'm from, elections don't get rigged without the people's permission. If APC's only pathway to re-election is via rigging in 2027, then an unpleasant surprise await them.

The Northcentral will always be split. It's the most diverse region in Nigeria right next to the Southwest. Not even Tinubu can confidently say his re-election has been won and lost as at today. So many variables that will determine are yet to occur. For example, we know Tinubu is being pressured by the West to drop Shettima for a christian. This singular action alone will re-draw the electoral map if it materialises.

Sensational headline. Obasanjo is not yet a member of the ADC but Kwankwaso is welcome to the party. The ADC will conduct a free and fair primaries and whoever emerges will be supported by the rest of the aspirants in the party.

Lol. If you are asked to say why you feel so now, you will say because he has 30 governors. He also had over 25 governors in 2023 and only won 12 states. At least, half of those states were not even APC-governed states for that matter. The APC governors largely failed in delivering their states. Tinubu is more unpopular now than he was in 2023, amongst the voting electorates.

Why na? I thought Agbadorians said Atiku’s son and the still-yet-to-defect governor of Kano will deliver Kano to Tinubu? We will all learn politics together!

A newspaper like Thisday publishes a news item, a Nairalander creates a thread about it and the moderator pushes it to frontpage and then you have the temerity to call it fake news. Should we rather believe what Putindbutt (what a name!) says instead? Why not sue the newspaper for publishing fake news.

Tinubu’s desperation is now palpable. Is he prepared to take the Kano APC structure from Ganduje and Barau and hand it over to Abba Kabir, who is obviously still dragging feet and unsure of his decision? Why is he so obsessed with courting governors while doing little to win the support of the voting electorates?

This is no different from what is already out there about the 2023 elections. Tinubu won the elections with the least margin ever in the country because it was a three-horse race and Northerners split their votes three-ways (Tinubu, Kwankwaso, Atiku) to accommodate Tinubu with 5.6m votes out of his total 8m votes coming from the muslim North. It is also a no-brainer that a united opposition will unseat Tinubu in 2027 and the coalition is already on course to achieve that, having done the hard part of bringing Obi and Atiku under one umbrella. The next task will be managing the fallout arising from the party primaries and putting forward a united front against the incumbent. This will not be as difficult as their supporters currently make it seem because talks have already gone on underground for a long time before the public alignments. With Kwankwaso set to decamp to ADC as being speculated, the elections might just be over before the first ballot is cast. There will be no way Tinubu can scale through in an election where the three runners-up from the previous election unites against him.
