"We had lunch together but it was in the room where everybody was, like players and staff. It was like half an hour, 40 minutes, so it was not too detailed. It was not the moment [to talk about transfers and budgets]. We will do this next week, in the next weeks." |

“We proved four times this season that we can produce peak performances to compete with them at this kind of level. It showed in all results that we deserved and they could’ve gone in our way and could’ve gone in their way. We produced these peak performances against them.
“[We] have everything it takes to win trophies. We proved it [and] we have the Club World Cup and European Super Cup. I don’t feel sorry that this was the beginning of the season and winter.
“[We] can produce peak performances and we have the mentality in the club to shape the mentality of the players to have these peak performances but over the last years, Man City and Liverpool have proved you need to show that at a level of consistency we don’t have and that we have struggled with. So we need to find it, build it, create it.” “While I will not promise victories, I will promise that we will deliver, heart, passion, commitment, and living up to the fullest and having no regrets.”

A001: Christians and Muslims don't worship the same god.
Christians worship Jehovah/Yahweh, an entity native to Israel who claims the title God in the Bible.
Muslims worship Allah, an entity native to Arabia who claims the title God in Qur'an.
Each of these deities is different, with distinct histories. Only those that don't know the history of Yahweh and Allah say they're the same.
According to the Bible, Yahweh gave birth to Jesus Christ. But according to Qur'an, Allah gave birth to no one, which is one of his most important attributes.
Saying Muslims and Christians worship the same God is tantamount to stating Israel's Herzog is the same as the Saudi Arabia's King Salman, but both are different individuals being the leaders of the two Asian countries respectively.
In history, thousands of gods have been worshipped by humans, including Atum, El (or Elohim), Baal, Ra, Allah, Olorun, Jehovah, Zeus, Ahura Mazda, Mithras, Chukwu, Sin, and many others.
Each of these gods has all claimed the title of God at one point or the other in history. Thus, it's incorrect historically and etymologically to say Allah is the same as Jehovah.
Most Christians pray to the pagan god El or Elohim thinking they're praying to Jehovah. But both are distinct entities with different histories.
I just laugh whenever I see all these pastors shouting El-Shaddai. They don't know El or Elohim was an adversary of Jehovah.
But the clever writers of the Bible plagiarized the writings of god El, importing concepts like hell into Christianity, and also copied the religious texts of Mithras and those of the ancient Egyptians.
Hundreds of years later, Muhammad also plagiarized the Bible, especially the Jewish writings, to get Qur'an.
Also, before Jesus Christ, the fictitious character designed by Rome to dominate other nations, there had been many Kristas that claimed to be the savior of their people.
Most religious people don't carry out objective research of the history of the god they worship. But it's very important. For a start what do Arab Christians call "God"? |

Who disregarded the rules and regulations? The girl or her Muslims couesemates?
I want to hear your honest opinion on this please Of course the Muslims and maybe before then people of other faith(s) might have been doing likewise, it's very common for Nigerians to violate rules and regulations. |

Jodera: The big question is, what was even the cause of the rebuke? That's the issue most Nigerians are even oblivious to. Imagine you threatening to revoke my statement and God in a general WhatsApp group yet you publish yours. Then when you're rebuked, you turn around and say I'm blaspheming. Isn't that madness?? Now this is the question begging for answers, and the answer is our disregard for rules and regulations in this part of the world. This is why I always call for moderation in religious evangelism, without government intervention people will do as they wish at the detriment of the said faith they profess. In some countries you don't disturb the public with your practice but in Nigeria we will block roads, turn on the volume of loudspeakers even in the dead of the night disturbing public peace. |

afrodoc2:

Thank you. But it was a question not a joke. A question you didn’t answer by the way. If people don’t bridle their tongues is it right for them to be killed?
And should the same punishment be imposed on muslims when they don’t bridle their tongues about other religions?
The focus here indeed is religious intolerance like you have alluded to, not on the part of the poor girl that was burnt but her school mates that murdered her.
That should be your focus not unbridled tongues. And you should be intelligent enough to know this. Anything short of this and you are nothing but a terrorist apologist in sheep’s clothing. There's a judicial procedure to determine what measure of punishment is appropriate should the person be tried and found guilty, let the court handle it. Muslims arent allowed to insult the deities of other faiths but we are rather encouraged to debate with knowledge and wisdom or shun debate entirely when it's not possible to have a civic debate. A Muslim is not even allowed to live in a place hostile to his beliefs except if he's weak and unable to migrate then he should bare whatever comes his way with patience till his condition becomes better. We should learn to separate the general from the specific my position and that of Muslims is, blasphemy is wrong and punishable but as for what happened in the case of Deborah we condemned it totally and the perpetrators dont represent Islam and appropriate punishment will be dished out to them by the authorities. Also, I am not qualified to say whether the murdered girl committed blasphemy or not and those who lynched her aren't qualified as well they did so out of overzealousness. Tolerance goes both ways and in Nigeria we are very intolerant some do it in an obvious manner and some do it subtly. Even on this thread people have uploaded family pictures of another user, insulted wives and children of members and labeled someone as abortion doctor; it got so bad that a user had to bring his wads of cash and threats before the other user fled away. We should learn how not to insult people's sensibilities and engage more in more productive discussion. |

donjazet: I guess amoto had to eventually own up to his fundamental beliefs. It's unfortunate that you guys are just finding out his propensity for being a terrorist apologetic.
Go through his profile and see the posts he has created. You get to see someone not much different from those who carry bombs into churches.
I've been trying to make him come clean about this because he was always evading the issue but it's nice he finally owned up to it.
He's unapologetic towards Islam's violent stance towards dissent. He unabashedly supports death for apostasy. That's death to those who wants to leave the religion. He supports honor killings. That's death to female family members who dishonor the religion. All these he has owned up to in his past posts. So don't be surprised you're just finding out.
My pain is that this guy appears to be more well read and researched than the average person, you will think he would be more enlightened, but for Muslims, it's as if the more educated you are, the higher the propensity for terrorism is. Such a weird cycle. I don't support honor killing and Islam prohibits it. |

Kloppo: Insult is not a crime in a democratic setting....I guess you 've insulted people on this thread, change the name to Allah or Mohammad(an Arab deity) and people deserve to be burnt/killed/beheaded?
Bishop Kukah whose Catholic church was burnt yesterday was right when he said long ago that the fundamental cause of crisis in Northern Nigeria is that the Muslim leaders failed to tell their followers that core Islamic principles are incompatible with Democratic principles.,...
You people should allow us to divide so you can practice your full Sharia and Islamic principles while we practice our democracy in peace Insults allowed in democracy? This is a lie. People are punished for making racist jokes, homophobic slurs and defamation of character in "advanced democratic countries". permit me to say that people have values and they make their laws based on said values it is wrong of me or anyone to insult their laws and acts as if nothing is wrong about it. Tolerance and acceptance is a two-way thing. Deji of Akure flogged someone allegedly for claiming to be a king sometimes ago his reason is that there cannot be two kings in his domain, that's the law of his kingdom and the violator was flogged. |
