An interesting hustle for Naija teachers

From Chukwudi Iwuchukwu

I just learnt today that Nigerians living abroad hire lesson teachers from Nigeria to coach their kids going to school in the new environment where they just migrated.

One of the reasons driving this market of hiring a lesson teacher from Nigeria to teach a child living in the UK is because it is cheaper and more affordable to do so because of the exchange rate.

300k, for instance, is less than $200, so a lesson teacher living in Ogbunike, my village, and earning 300k for teaching just one child in the US, Igbo, biology, and chemistry is earning good and eating good too.

With that $200 budget, you can’t get a good private home tutor in the US.

And there exist many Nigerian lesson teachers with clients living abroad and their job description is simple

Wake up, prepare your lesson notes, log into zoom, coach your students, log out, sleep and the cycle continues the next day.

Some of these lessons teachers have 3-4 students living abroad that they coach every month.

A lucrative hustle it is.

Interesting times we live in.

Just like they know Bill Gates created computer viruses and then packaged the anti-virus to sell for profit. But if you tell them he did same for COVID-19, you'd be labeled a conspiracy Theorist.

One day, people will find out how the term conspiracy theorist came about.

Hint: it is not the derogatory term people think it is.
Wasn't Lee Kwan Yew a eugenicist? Or Charles Darwin a racist whose views on evolution were influenced by superiority of white race? The same view that influenced some economists to develop theories aimed at subjugating the inferiors? Wasn't Churchill a racist? What did they not do to subjugate people and countries they deemed inferior?
Let them keep their handouts we will triumph instead of using those to cause chaos in order to cart away valuable resources on the cheap, after all the handouts are not getting to the people who needed help the most. Efosa Ejomo said something in one of his talks about the fact that handouts won't develop us.

All the talk about how APC did XYZ when GEJ was in power are all conspiracy theories. But people feel free to spew such.

Boko Haram is mentioned by a US congresssman as one of the terrorist organisations that receives funding from US government agency.

APC is a creation of USA who is funding terrorism across the globe. pic.twitter.com/whgczw4Yta

Question for the house

Would you recommend an auditor going to work for an oil company (indigenous) for N500k or staying with a Financial Services company for N700k

The auditor in question already has experience in manufacturing and financial services sector and I'm inclined to think he should open up his options in the oil industry as the ceiling is much higher.
