Yes I have three times already on the 7th, 15th and 24th of August and was told that my application is still under processing. See the last response that I got from them
We write in reply to your email.

As indicated on our website, the processing times provided are based on how long it took to process 80 percent of all applications during that time period and are subject to change. As these processing times refer to 80 percent of applications, some applications will fall outside of these timeframes. In addition, as they are an average, there will be some fluctuations in processing times at peak periods during the course of the year.

That being said, please be assured that the application has been received and is in process. As soon as processing is completed you will be notified.

Kind regards,

My application is exactly 91 days today. Is it because I am also applying for a intern work permit that is the reason my application is taking this long to process? Gurus in the house, please I will appreciate your responses... Thanks

Leave it blank if it is your first time applying for a study permit.
henricson:
Please I saw UCI as question 2 on study permit form imm1294 & question 3 on TRV form imm5257. Please what's the meaning of UCI? What are we expected to fill there?

Please forgive my many questions
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by amozag2018: 12:04pm On Aug 19, 2018
funny you... how is asking a question attacking you
Linzo:
If you care to know what I'm doing here, then I will tell you Mr curious. I got admission to Brandon university and currently putting together documents to apply for study permit next week by God grace. Instead to attack the message which is the theme of discussion but you rather prefer to attack my person.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by amozag2018: 12:02pm On Aug 19, 2018
It should be in your Letter of acceptance. Mine was in my letter of acceptance so I uploaded the letter there also.
henricson:
For those who filled in their questionnaire that work was required for study... May I what document to upload for the file 'evidence for work required in study'?

TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by amozag2018: 11:00pm On Aug 18, 2018
Then what are you doing on this discussion thread... Just curious?
Linzo:
I don't think so, this same number has flashed me up 3 times and I have not applied for study permit or anything related to Canada visa. I think we should investigate that number well. I guess it has nothing to do with VO
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by amozag2018: 8:44pm On Aug 18, 2018
Really? God help us all.
Lagos2canna:
I think it tracks your social media accounts and anything associated with that phone number and email, you can enhance your social media account by uploading pictures of your occupation and making useful comments about Nigeria. A guy was sent back from Toronto at POE when they discover he had chats on his phone regarding jobs in Canada when he was with a visiting visa, that was someone experience let's be careful.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by amozag2018: 4:55pm On Aug 18, 2018
It is not coincidental I was called also from this number +22397654645 from Mali. Kindly confirm that it is the same number that called you. I am also thinking it is way of checking your location which can be part of their background check. This is my opinion though...
Kishkosh:
Those that had strange numbers called them some weeks ago.
Pls, some numbers just called me now again, although I missed the calls, which wasnt intentional and I tried to call back to no avail.
I don't know if I should still conclude the calls are just coincidental and not related to my TRV app.

Blessed weekend.

You need to go and do the upfront medical with Children Practice in Ikoyi. I did it on Tuesday and my medical has been updated as Passed this Thursday 16th of August. I am only waiting for the approval Mail now from CIC. That is my Two Cents to you...
Biakwa:
Good day house,

Please one big question,

I am yet get medical call school resumption is 3rd of September.. If I decide to differ till January now. What will be the implication if the visa is refused in terms of refund from the school.. Also, what will be the implications if visa is later granted (are we going to inform CIC that we have a new admission letter or what?) This is the thing we are delineating on as school already started any visa that has not been stamped on or before 20th should differ admission to next season.....

Approval Alert! Long Post Alert Too.

I applied on July 26th online. I received a medical request August 8th, I did it the next day in PH. My medicals was updated as pass earlier today around 11am, and about 30mins ago, the approval and Passport request landed.

Msc, McGill University
Documents submitted.
My Sponsor is my Fiancée's Sister. I submitted her personal and business' statements of account (She is a small business owner), with a combined balance of about 13 million naira after she has transferred my estimated tuition fee for 1 year to me (1.2m).
Sponsorship and affidavit of sponsorship letter.
CAC documents of her business
My Fiancée's and my Sponsor’s birth certificates and my Sponsor’s International passport data page (single travel history to dubai).
Sponsor’s family picture of about 8years ago showing me at her convocation ceremony from the University (My Fiancée is in the picture too).
My engagement dinner picture with my Fiancee.

SOP(2 pages)
Resume (It shows my two research publications in international peer-reviewed journals and my current project)
Statement of my long-standing Mutual funds investment account with ARM (1.4m current balance).
TOEFL Result (I wrote it last year for another purpose, McGill didn't require it from me, but I sha submitted it anyway in the rush)
Offer letter from McGill.
CAQ approval letter from Quebec.
Email approval of my Differential Fee Waiver Award from McGill (This DFW allows me to pay tuition and other fees at Quebec rate which is about 1.2m (4120 CAD) instead of International rate which is 19820 CAD).
My NYSC call-up letter, and PPA posting letter (I am currently a youth corper).
My MDCN Annual Practicing License.
My birth certificate, University degree and Transcript.
Parents' and my 4 siblings' birth certificates.
My retired father's landed property and valuation (I didn't do deed of transfer). Valued at 8m.
My father's RSA statement as at when he retired years ago. Balance was 4m.

I was denied Visa twice in the space of a month last year to go and present one of my research work in New York. Also, I was denied a UK visa this last May to attend the Commonwealth Youth Forum as one of the youth delegates representing Nigeria at the last concluded CHOGM in London. I had another paper to present early last month in London too, however, I couldn't even dare apply for a visa again, so I begged one of my co-authors to make the presentation. He already had a UK visa. I have never travelled out of this country before as an adult so my passport is Virgin.

I didn't pay for Tuition, McGill generally doesn't allow you pay tuition until you have both your CAQ and your Study Permit.

I thank God for His mercies, as I didn't know I will be applying for the study permit until days before that July 26th. But God practically fast-tracked my approval. Thanks to @jnyuwa02 and @frankrobben for their immense contributions to this group. I arranged my documents in a hurry based on their back and forth on this thread from day 1.

If their is anything to learn from this my divine grace, is that no two applications are the same. And to always say the truth too. I explained all my visa denials and I filled in the TB part of the application that I recently managed a patient that was diagnosed of Tuberculosis under my care and I was in close contact with him as his Doctor for weeks. I didn't know how such information could have affected my application, but I couldn't bring myself to lying about such exposure while I was filling the form.

Last last, I Thank God!

TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by amozag2018: 6:34am On Aug 10, 2018
Please do we have any June "Online Applicant" who has been called for Medicals yet? Kindly let me know and when did you apply.

Also, for those of us waiting for the medical mail, if it comes later than August 25th we may not be able to meet up with the resumption date because I noticed Q-Life Family Clinic is fully booked till September 7th 2018 while "the children practice" next appointment date was 16th of August as at yesterday.

MY TWO CENTS

If you are planning to resume with your school this Fall, kindly take the advice of several people here and go for your medicals BECAUSE when children Practice is fully booked you might need to travel out of Lagos for your medicals to avoid the inconveniences.

It will end in praise for us all...

blaqnony:
Very long post! I applied on the 1st of May. I applied for a Masters of Law in University of Saskatchewan.

The documents I used are:
The normal CIC forms.
I got a 20k scholarship from U of S. Though I got later got bursary and offer as Graduate Teaching Assistant which I didn't include in my application and never bothered to send to CIC.
A sponsorship letter from my employer stating that firm intends to take care of my flight ticket and other miscellaneous not covered by my scholarship.
Admission Letter.
My Employment Letter.
Police Clearance Certificate
Transcript and all my academic certificates.
Letter of Purpose and Explanation especially emphasizing why I must do my program in Canada as such program in research is not done in Nigeria and not even in the US. I think my strongest ñoint was my statement of purpose and explanation. At least I can write well.

NB: I didn't include personal assets, statement of account or even that of a family member. No paystubs. While filling the form, I didn't include the end dates for all my employment history, including the present one. I sent about 14 mails to different Canada embassy offices, and about 6 webforms when I was waiting for them to send me a medical request. I even told them that I am running out of time to make my travel plans.

Did Biometrics on the 3rd of May, updated the same day. Then my trouble began. Lol. Long wait was really a serious trouble. Friends that applied were getting updated nothing for me and thats where the real problem started. My BP got so high. Finally on 24th of July, I got medical request. I couldn't go for medicals till 1st of August for some reasons. I later went and everything went right except that my BP was high. 152/90. I was never a known hypentensive. It all boiled down to high BP garnered over the wait period for my approval. The doctor asked me to wait for sometime. I repeated it, the same thing. I was asked to do 3 more tests, Electric Cardiograph, Echocardiogram, and Serum Creatinine Test , and then get a cardiologist report which cost me a lot. On Friday I got the report from the same hospital.

Just yesterday I did a mail to the hospital to enquire why they haven't sent the medical report, they generated it yesterday night and sent to them. Then today, my medicals was updated as passed ND in less than 1 hour an approval and request of original passport.

In all it was about God, I did countless fasting and praying, sowing of seeds and all that. Especially when the reports I was getting here were not favourable.

Bye and large, I think it is most appalling to see us trying to compare our application with others. That alone is enough to increase your BP and can even cost you your success in medicals or at least extra expenses for further tests that is even costlier than the medicals itself. Quit worrying, your worries can't change anything. Rather it can even kill your hopes of having your studies abroad.

Please those going to U of S can you hit me up! All the gurus in the house thanks for all you do here. I quite appreciate Hardy and Nyjunwa for sharing the email addresses I sent mails to. 15 weeks no be beans o. grin We expect more approvals here soon.
