I think this is a case of child abuse as at when the deed was done. I also think it is a case of self inflicted pain. At this moment, what do you think he should do? Hear him :

"Ben I am in serious need of your candid advice. After I finished my WAEC in 2011, a friend of mine called me to come and stay with him in Abuja and look for something doing because there was no money to futher my education.

While staying in his house at Abuja, one of our neighbor's daughter started looking for me up and down till I fell in love with her, we started our relationship from there till I got her pregnant at the age of 17, I was 23 then. Her mum was a single mother with 3 daughters and non of them know their father. She is from Akwa Ibom. Immediately the Mum noticed her 17 year old daughter is pregnant, she sent her parking to my friend's house where I was squatting until my friend said I should look for a place to live and leave his house, that he can't continue with me and the pregnant teenager in one room, then the little money I saved in my account, I went and rent a one room, where I parked in with her till she give birth to a baby boy.

After she has given birth, I went to her mum's house, begging her so that she will return to her house with the baby so that I will be catering for her and the baby but her mother refused. And my mother at the village don't have anything, she is so poor with no help. She even depends on me, so I can't take her to village. So we stayed together till the boy turned one year and two months and she became pregnant again.

This time around, I don't know what to call it either mistake or what, I don't known. I was so ashamed of myseif. Ben as I am writing to you now, I will live with a boy and a girl together in one room. My work cannot provide for me and the family any longer. My salary is only N15000.. And her mum is not doing anything to assist us.

My problem now is that her mum is not ready to show us her father, she only say that whenever I am ready, she will direct me to her father's house, not to take me there. She say she will only direct me to the village. Now the girl is very stubborn, she can't even respect me or my mother. The last time my mom came to nurse the new born baby, she showed her hell.

My mother say she will never come to my house again. Even as I don't have money now to pay the dowry but I want to know the father but her mother refused to take me to the him. I am living with her without knowing her father. And I love my 2kids so much."

How can Igbo be minority u. Delta

An Igbo man is the governor of Delta and Rivers

An Igbo man Liyel Imoke was the governor of Cross River

Tell me one state in Niger Delta that we don't have an Igbo indigenous tribe

Then i can take you serious
victorvezx:
Ur forgetting one thing, igbos are minorities in the Niger delta like the rest of the tribes there, so they don't own Niger delta. and all this tribes don't share the same ideology with the igbos, when they really gather together and become united in the in a course, the little Igbo sub groups there will do nothing. They will have no ally in the Niger delta, they will have to join the other tribes and fight for the same course, or move back to the south east and be with their brothers.

What is the distitiveness and there is nothing like south south in English or geography

Pls
victorvezx:
95% of Nigerians have heard and know where Niger delta is. Whether igbos are there changes nothing. There are many tribes there too. It is very distinct from the south east. South south is Edo, Rivers state, Delta state, Akwa ibom state, Bayelsa state, and cross river state. The real Niger Delta is Delta state, Akwa ibom state, Rivers state and Bayelsa. Imo state, Ondo state and Abia state where only included in Niger delta by Obasanjo as oil producing states, they are not real Niger delta in the sense of it

Good Day All!

-
If you go into the street of Nigeria and ask, who is a Niger Deltan?
95% of respondents will likely fail the question.
The Reason for this write up is that some Peoples ignorantly love to use the phrase "IGBOS and NIGER DELTANS".
Its wrong and an embarrasement to the intellectual mindset.
-
First, What is a Delta?
A Delta is a Land area where a River spread into diverse tributuaries before emptying into an Ocean or Sea.
-
Niger Delta is the delta of River Nigeria.
The USA has Mississippi Delta.
The China has Yangtze Delta.
The Egypt has Nile delta.
And so on.
-
In Nigeria, How Is A Niger Deltan identified, lets examine it in three ways and then solve the Igbos and Niger Delta Question.
-
1) Niger Delta as Oil Producing Areas?- If Niger Delta is classified by Oil Producing Areas, that mean Igbos, Yorubas, Ijaws, Urhobos etc are part of it.
- Yorubas produce Oil in Ondo state.
- Igbos have Oil producing areas in Ukwa areas of Abia, Egbema, Asa/Ndoki, Oguta, Ogbaru, Ndoni, Omuma, Etche etc.
-
So if it is classified by Oil producing areas, that means all ethnic groups in southern Nigeria are Niger Deltans.
-
2) Niger Deltans As South South States?- This is the classification many use to define Niger Deltan.
And they even Ignorantly think Igbos are not part of it.
I am an Asa lady from Oyigbo LGA In Rivers state.
I am proudly Igbo and Niger Deltan.
Also the Ndokis, Ndoni, Etches, Egbemas etc are also Oil producing areas in South South and they are part of the Igbo Nation.
Ikwerre, Ogba and Ekpeye may be a battleground of identity issue but they are of Igboid stock.
So you see if we use South South as classification of Niger deltan, IGBOS are part and parcel of it.
-
3) Niger Deltan By Virtue Of Geographical Location?
If we go by this classification, that means Edo and Cross River people are not Niger deltans, because there is no delta of the River Niger in their location.
If we go by this classification, that means IGBOS are fully part of the Niger Delta.
-
My Final submission is that trying to create Niger Delta without mentioning IGBOS is a big FRAUD.
There are Igbos in the term "NIGER DELTA".
Even the River Niger is a dermacation between two Igbo Cities Onitsha and Asaba.
-
The days of divide and conquer are fading away.
I am an Asa/Ndoki person.
Oyigbo is my LGA!
Rivers is my state.
IGBO is my ethnic nation.
And Yes I am a Niger Deltan just like my fellow Igbos like Etches, Ndonis, Egbemas, Ogbarus, Ogutas, etc.
Thank you all.

There is nothing like south south

West west
East east

But we have south East
North West

TravelHow A Nigerian Lady Survived 10 Days In Desert ! by AmuDimpka(op): 8:25am On Jun 28, 2017
A 22-year-old Nigerian woman attempting to migrate into Europe via the harsh Sahara Desert survived after being abandoned by traffickers for 10 days.

The International Organisation for Migration said the woman, given the nickname Adoara, was the only female among the survivors of a rescue mission on May 28.

“She left Nigeria in early April hoping for a better future in Europe.
“There were 50 migrants on the pick-up truck when it left Agadez for Libya, but only six are still alive today,” Giuseppe Loprete, Niger Chief of Mission for IOM, said.

Recounting her ordeal, the Nigerian survivor said:

“We were in the desert for 10 days. After five days, the driver abandoned us.
“He left with all of our belongings, saying he was going to pick us up in a couple of hours, but he never did,” she recalled.

During the next two days, 44 of the migrants died which persuaded the six left to start walking to look for help.

“We had to drink our own pee to survive,” said the woman now in an IOM camp in Niamey, Niger.

She had left Nigeria with two close female friends, who both died in the desert.

“They were too weak to keep going,” she sadly remembers. “We buried a few, but there were just too many to bury and we didn’t have the strength to do it,” Adaora adds.
“I couldn’t walk anymore. I wanted to give up,” she recalls.

Two other migrants carried her until a truck driver picked them up and took them to local authorities who then alerted IOM staff in Dirkou in the Agadez Region of north-eastern Niger.

By the time the six survivors reached IOM’s transit centre in Dirkou, Adaora was unconscious.

She received medical assistance, and once recovered, she gave a detailed account of her experience to both the authorities and IOM staff. Two of the other migrants from the group went back with IOM staff and the authorities to find the bodies and identify the victims.

After having received medical assistance at IOM’s transit centres in both Dirkou and Agadez, Adaora is currently recovering at IOM’s transit centre for migrants in Niamey, awaiting her imminent voluntary return to Nigeria.

Adaora says she had no idea what the route was going to be like, otherwise she would have never left Nigeria. Going back, she wants to continue her work as a nurse. “I think it’s important we all assist each other when we are in need,” she says.

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) said it rescued no fewer than 600 people since April 2017 through a new search and rescue operation that targeted migrants stranded in Sahara Desert.

The UN migration agency, however, regretted 52 migrants, mostly from The Gambia, Nigeria, Senegal and Cote d’Ivoire, died over the period, according to its statement on Tuesday.

PoliticsWhat I Will Do For Lagos This Remaining Two Years - Ambode by AmuDimpka(op): 7:20am On Jun 27, 2017
The Governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode, has said his administration will focus on the state’s power, environment and transportation sectors in the next two years.

According to him, the sectors were crucial to driving social infrastructure in the state.

Ambode, who stated this while addressing reporters on Monday, said: “In the last two years, what we have done is just to create a foundation of a vision that drives Lagos to the next 50 years.

“There is nothing we can do in the next two years that is ever going to be enough. There are three things I want people to watch out for in the next 12 to 18 months, the issue of power, environment and the sanitation as well as transportation.

“I believe those three sectors are the key sectors that can drive every other social infrastructure that we will be dealing with in Lagos.”

He emphasised the importance of a clean and safe environment not just for residents alone, but also for investors willing to do business in the state.

“Lagos must get cleaner and safer, and improve in the way people commute from one place to another.

“One thing with Lagos is the more success you record, the more people want to come into the city,” the governor said.

PoliticsBiafra : Between Nnamdi Kanu And Emeka Ojukwu by AmuDimpka(op): 7:02am On Jun 27, 2017
On May 30, 1967, following a chain of events in Nigeria, and following weeks of serious consultations between Ojukwu who was the Military Governor of the then Eastern Region and a cross section of the people, Ojukwu made that historic announcement which proclaimed the sovereign state of Biafra.

The day he made that proclamation, the hall at Enugu was filled to capacity. The finest brains from this part of the country were there. Leaders of thought, Traditional Rulers, soldiers, members of the academia, etc.

In his opening speech that day, Ojukwu said...
"YOU, THE PEOPLE OF EASTERN NIGERIA...

After outlining several powerful preambles, he said...

HAVING MANDATED ME TO PROCLAIM ON YOUR BEHALF AND IN YOUR NAME THE EASTERN NIGERIA TO BE A SOVEREIGN STATE,

NOW THEREFORE, I LT. COL CHUKWUEMEKA ODUMEGWU OJUKWU, MILITARY GOVERNOR OF EASTERN NIGERIA, PURSUANT TO THE AUTHORITY AND ABOVE RECITALS DO HEREBY SOLEMNLY PROCLAIM....

Ojukwu was a wise man. He studied history at Oxford. He understood the psychology of the Igbos and our neighbors. He knew he couldn't act alone. He knew he needed the support of the people.

When that announcement was made, there was an explosion of joy across the entire Eastern Nigeria.
Our finest brains were fully with him. Sir Louis Mbanefo, the first Igbo lawyer accepted to serve as Chief Justice of Biafra. Others like Achebe, Okigbo, etc were there.

Ojukwu understood that Biafra wasn't an Igbo thing. It was never. He brought in an Efik man as his Second in Command. His name was General Philip Effiong. The Secretary to the Government of Biafra was also Efik. It was an Eastern Nigerian agenda. Even a Yoruba officer, Tunji Banjo abandoned his own people and fought for Biafra.

That is the power of ideas supported by popular acclaim.
Our people were happy. We were enthusiastic. The people had spoken through their leader.

In January 1970 when the war ended, Ojukwu had fled to the Ivory Coast. He handed over to Effiong. When there was more sense continuing with the war, Effiong didn't just make an announcement on his own. He consulted our people. Even in the heat of an excruciating war, Effiong never acted alone.

In his last speech to the Biafran people, Effiong said...

FELLOW COUNTRYMEN AND WOMEN, AS YOU ALL KNOW, I WAS ASKED TO BE THE OFFICER ADMINISTERING THIS REPUBLIC ON JANUARY 10,1970...

I HAVE HAD EXTENSIVE CONSULTATIONS WITH THE LEADERS OF OUR COMMUNITIES BOTH MILITARY AND CIVIL, AND I AM NOW ENCOURAGED AND HASTEN TO MAKE THIS STATEMENT TO YOU...BY THE MANDATE OF THE ARMED FORCES AND THE PEOPLE OF THIS COUNTRY.

He spoke and spoke. Commending our people for the resilience during the war but stated that it was time to end it.

He set up a committee to negotiate with the Nigerian government. That committee was to be led by Chief Justice Mbanefo, Prof Eni Njoku, Chief Bassey and Chief Aguma . Bassey was from Cross River and Aguma, from Rivers.

He then set up a committee of eminent persons to ADVISE HIM on the issues that will arise. That committee had people from across the entire Eastern Nigeria, from the military and outside. There were Igbos, Efiks, Ijaws, etc. They were men of honor and substance.

I have taken the pains to present this preamble so that our people can compare and contrast between the scenarios we had and what we have now.

All we hear and see today are unilateral proclamations. No consultation with anybody. This young man simply wakes up and makes far reaching proclamations. In doing this, he is urged on mainly by a coterie of street urchins and a mob followership, most of whom were not born when we fought the first war.

The latest in this madness is the proclamation that Igbos will not vote in the 2019 elections, starting with Anambra this November. He didn't ask the people of Anambra what they wanted. He just woke up and made an order and expects that Igbos are zombies. We shall see.

Education is very important. If this guy had the benefit a proper education, he would have known why indirect rule failed in Igboland but succeeded in other parts of the country. When indirect rule failed, the colonial leaders introduced the Warrant Chiefs who were Lords. The entire arrangement ended in a fiasco.
Igbos are by their nature, republicans and act after detailed analysis and wide spread consultations. No one can order the Igbo people around according to his own whims and caprices. Even if what you ask of them is right, the mere fact that you woke up to say it without asking them will make them resist it.
Igbos don't have powerful kings and rulers. Igbos don't by tradition prostrate before anybody. We act by a unity of purpose.

Tell me one decent and notable Igboman who is with this guy in this his movement.
Will he fight the war alone?

What does he think secession is? A cartoon film?

The original Biafra was not an Igbo thing entirely. While Igbos were in the majority, there were others too. Today, what we have is a purely designed Igbo agitation. This is not the Biafra that Ojukwu had in mind. The other people feel uncomfortable with it and have said no.

Finally, let me ask Kanu one question. If by his imperial order, Igbos refuse to vote in 2019, what of those Igbos who were elected in a state like Lagos?

Two Igbos are in the House of Reps representing two constituencies in Lagos State. One Igbo guy is in the Lagos State House of Assembly. What becomes of them?

Those that know him should tell him to go and sleep over this his thing. He is a young man and should ask questions and consult his people before coming out to speak.

All through history, no single individual has spoken for the Igbos except the people ask him to, or he will be alone in the market place.

Finally, I will advise Kanu to go and read ACHEBE's books, THINGS FALL APART AND ARROW OF GOD. They were written by Chinua Achebe, one of the finest Igbo brains who took active part in the war.
In those two books, the republican nature of the Igbo man were in full display. The emphasis we place on unity and consultation. All decisions must be collectively reached for it to have efficacy.

In THINGS FALL APART, when Okonkwo got too powerful and decided to run a one man show, he ended up committing suicide and his body was buried by strangers in the evil forest. The people abandoned him. It didn't matter that he was the most popular and most powerful man in the land who had brought them honor severally.

Obierika, Okonkwo's best friend who was a more deeper man said to the white man...THIS WAS THE GREATEST MAN IN UMUOFIA, YOU DROVE HIM TO KILL HIMSELF AND NOW, HE WILL BE BURIED LIKE A DOG.

IN ARROW OF GOD, Ezeulu misunderstood that the allegiance the people gave to him was by virtue of his office as the Priest of Ulu, their deity. When he became too powerful and started toying with the people, the people arose against both him and the deity. The rest was history. Even while he reigned as Ezeulu, he was constantly questioned and harassed by some men like the rambunctious Nwaka.

Please tell Nnamdi Kanu to cultivate the habit of reading.

PoliticsA Brief On Ipob Reconciliation At Nnewi by AmuDimpka(op): 6:21am On Jun 27, 2017
The Background

I was privileged to witness the IPOB reconciliation meeting that took place at the Conference Room of Ikedife hospital, Nnewi, operated by Dr. Dozie Ikedife Snr, Deputy Leader of IPOB Customary Government and IPOB Council of Elders.

It will be recalled that soon after the formation of IPOB by its proponents, there arose an ideological disagreement among the hierarchy over methods. Justice Eze Ozobu, Dozie Ikedife, Col. Achuzie and some others believed in legal and constitutional process while Nnamdi Kanu and some others preferred an outright revolutionary approach that would bypass legal bottlenecks. Ikedife and his side also wanted political participation and Nnamdi Kanu and his group do not believe in political participation, seeing it as contamination and poisoned chalice.

The disagreement soon degenerated and factions broke out and fought each other openly in the battle for supremacy. Nnamdi Kanu fought with the media, especially with the powerful Radio Biafra of which he still the Director and with which he brought the Biafra struggle to its current apogee. Ikedife and Kanu who had been like father and son fell out almost irreconcilably before Nnamdi Kanu was arrested by the DSS and the commencement of his trial and long sojourn in Kuje Prison.

While Nnamdi Kanu was in prison, the Ikedife faction of IPOB did not take any advantage of that but instead, sent a delegation that visited him in prison after which they also made a demand on the Federal Government that Nnamdi Kanu be released to them (the IPOB Council of Elders). Though not primarily intended, it was a first step towards rapprochement between the two IPOB warring factions.

The Reconciliation

I had believed that unless the IPOB family came together, the Biafra struggle would remain fractured and uncoordinated. Unknown to many too, the issue is not power struggle as such. It is more of ideology and methods, and each side of the divide has valid points. Thus, my conviction had been that the two factions can still work together if a balance could be struck. At my first visit to Nnamdi Kanu early May, I had to broach the delicate matter and he assured me that he would do all that was necessary to bring the IPOB family back together. He told me he was already planning to meet with Dr. Dozie Ikedife to set the process rolling, as a follow-up to the visit he paid to the Ala-Igbo Development Foundation lead by Prof. Uzodinma Nwala in Enugu where he first met Ikedife since their squabble began.

Within the period, I spent a lot of time in Awka with the leaders of the Customary Government of IPOB and MOBIN (the two or more structures that were formed by the Dozie Ikedife group to give vent and effect to their beliefs on the ideology and methods for the actualization of Biafra. Ikedife and his group also set up Bilie, a human rights arm with which they instituted a case on the legality of their struggle against the Federal Government at Owerri Federal High court.

The officials were happy with my interest in helping to bring about peace and unity in the Biafra struggle generally, and the IPOB family in particular, and took me to Dozie Ikedife who welcomed me with open arms. At that pre-reconciliation meeting, Dr. Ikedife was visibly sober on hearing that my name is Law Mefor. He told me my brother Uche Mefor, Nnamdi Kanu's deputy, had called him unprintable names in Radio Biafra and incited violence against him. Afraid of inheriting my brother’s enemies and in pursuit of peace, which brought me; I apologized on Uche Mefor’s behalf and pleaded with him to treat it magnanimously as a great father he is. He agreed and offered me kola and drinks and said the grace for peace and unity over the kola. I stated my mission. Fair enough, his precondition for peace was simple: unreserved apology from Nnamdi Kanu for the vilification he suffered during the period of disagreement.

The Reconciliation Day

On the reconciliation day, I rode with top officials of the Customary Government, Biafra TV online and Mobin to Nnewi to await Nnamdi Kanu’s arrival at the venue. Nnamdi Kanu and his team arrived in the afternoon and came straight upstairs to the Conference room; unguided, showing he was on a familiar terrain. A good number of pressmen, both print and electronic were around and fully covered the reconciliation meeting.

Nnamdi Kanu first spoke after the traditional breaking of kola nuts, and made it clear that Ikedife is more than a father to him and remains so. He blamed the disagreement between them on miscommunications and pleaded that the disagreement remains where it belongs: in the past. Ikedife responded and, like a great father, he made light of the disagreement and without conditions, took Nnamdi Kanu back as a worthy partner in the Biafra struggle. It was a very emotional meeting and reminded me of the biblical return of the prodigal son.

Remarkably, Ikedife said he had always told Biafrans everywhere within and outside Nigeria to operate within the countries’ laws. He told Nnamdi Kanu that the setting up of the Customary Government of IPOB was constitutional and even operational in other parts of Nigeria, especially in the north using their sharia law.

Engr. Tony Aniebue who is the National Administrator of the Customary Government of IPOB, who sat between Ikedife and their Director of Media and Publicity Ndubisi Anienugwu, then spoke. He harped on the necessity of the Customary Government as Ikedife had done, which Nnamdi Kanu agreed with, and the urgent need for unity.

Then, the Director General of the Movement of Biafrans in Nigeria (MOBIN) Rita Eberechukwu Anigbogu spoke. She spoke about the branch of IPOB she heads and assured Nnamdi Kanu, who she said recruited her into the struggle; she would remain loyal till the end.

Chinedu Asuzu who is the Director of Biafra Voice Intl (TV) Channel 1, spoke in the same vein too. Then yours sincerely was also given a speaking chance as the witness-in-chief. I happily told them I was a witness to history of an answered prayer and urged then to sustain the peace and unity initiative being consummated. I assured them of continued support of the Igbo elite as long as the Biafra struggle remained forthright, focused and altruistic. I rounded off by stating that their struggle was justified as Igbos are actually being mistreated in Nigeria. And on independent Biafra or restructured Nigeria, I gave a measured answer: truly and fully restructured Nigeria is good but Biafra is better, and that which shall be would ultimately depend on the Nigerian Government.

One or two others spoke after me and the one hour-plus session ended, with Ikedife and Nnamdi Kanu alone going into a closed session, which lasted for about 30 minutes. Then, the Customary Government, Mobin and Biafra TV online officials went also into another closed session with Nnamdi Kanu, and permitted yours sincerely to witness it also. There, they agreed on their return visit to Kanu at a later date and the need for a Biafra Council, which Kanu proposed would serve as a clearing house while all the existing structures are allowed to continue as they are and subject to the Biafra Council.

Half way into the meetings, a motley crowd in their thousands had gathered outside round the fence and adjourning road, blocking it completely. Since Ikedife made the visit a private one, how the crowd gathered was surprising. Nnamdi Kanu and the rest of us went round for him to acknowledge the overwhelming solidarity. Before he left, he also obliged some women who came with their babies for him to touch and bless and take pictures. He also addressed the press, where the question of Anambra Election came up after he had stated that there would be boycott of elections in 2019 and he said it would start with Anambra Election.

I had the opportunity to address some media men also who wanted my take on the Anambra election boycott. I simply told them it was not feasible since the 1999 constitution did not provide for an irreducible minimum participation, which meant only the Governor and his staff are enough to reelect him. I told the media I did not see the strategy in leaving a party that would continue after one had left it, and I insisted that it would be much better for IPOB to support a candidate who has very strong sympathy for the Biafra struggle or better still, one of their own.

Shortly after Nnamdi Kanu and his team left, we returned to Awka, ending one of my happiest days.

The group was alleged to have omitted some of the worst heinous crime known to mankind such kidnapping, gang war and killing of a pregnant woman and ripping the fetus out of her and other terrible crimes know to the world. They have been tagged a cult group while others know them as a bunch of rascals and delinquent kids. One thing that is a common denominator about these names is that BADOO as a group is a bad news and not wanted. Their name is derived from the term “BAD” giving it BADOO.

In a chat with the 97.7 FM, the police commander of Rapid Response Team, Olatunji Disu explained that the security machinery has been put in place to tackle the menace of this dreaded group. In his chat with the presenter of the morning program, he said, “We have deployed sophisticated equipment with a camera enabled Armored Personal Carrier (APC) to various crime hotspots in Lagos. Ikorodu disturbances will be a thing of past. We are using the Aberdeen policing system to checkmate these crimes. And we are happy to see a crime reduction in Lagos” he said.

The police chief reiterated on the need for citizens to be very conscious of their environment, in his words, “security is commonsensical. If an individual sees anything that is out of ordinary in his environment, he should alert the security personnel”, he said.

The police force in Lagos State have four call centers that the Lagos citizens can call for prompt response and he decried that people do not make use of these numbers. The police chief lamented on the use of toll free calling systems where kids calls the numbers to ask irrelevant questions, even adults have been known to call the center without any reasonable thing to say. He used the opportunity doll out the relevant numbers that citizens can call during time of emergency or criminal activity in Lagos. The 767 and 112 remains the standard numbers to call in any time of distress. These numbers are toll free and are not charged. He went further to give other mobile numbers like 09053950347 (SMS only) and residents of the state can call 07035068242, 08065154338 and 07055350249.

These numbers can be called anytime of the day to report any unwanted activity or even report police personnel that have been found wanting in their line of duties.

The issue of “One Chance” a form of robbery where criminals pretend to be passengers in a bus to rob and dispose unsuspecting passengers in Lagos, using mostly “Danfo” a bus in Lagos. He stated that it has been revealed that most of the perpetrators of this one chance crime are mostly from Ajegunle, a crime infested ghetto in Lagos. In the area these criminals are known by their nickname Awala. He revealed that the information came to bare when they arrested and caught the perpetrators of this crime. Majority of them come from this Ajegunle axis of Lagos.

On the issue prostitution and marijuana smoking in Lagos, he lamented on the case of prostitution, he noted that it should be an interventionist approach by some relevant ministries and government agencies on the reason to curb such social vices like prostitution. Lagos, being the economic capital of Nigeria, attracts a lot of people and when these people come to town, most of them have no decent accommodation and work. They resort to sleeping under the overhead bridge while the ladies prostitute and the men do snatching which they graduate to other crimes. He acknowledges the need to create job for these set of people that migrate to Lagos from other states but reiterated that a crime is a crime.

Selling and smoking of Marijuana hasn’t been legalized in the country and it is still a crime. Some few days ago, the police got some tip off that some bags of marijuana were stacked in Iyana Ipaja area of Lagos. The police moved swiftly and made the arrest. He added that “ we have come to understand that the position of state as the economic hub of the nation, attracts different characters and shades of people and the police have deployed various modern means of crime bursting and this has made Lagos to be relatively safe. There is no city in the world that we have zero crime rates “he concluded.

The security chief reiterated that police checkpoint in Lagos is illegal. There is no checkpoint in Lagos that any checkpoint found mounted by any police is illegal. The need to stop the Owo Olopa , a kind of money dedicated by the Danfo (transporters) for the men of force remains illegal and the commissioner of police frowns on such thing. With the new reenergized, reinvigorated and rejuvenated police system in Lagos, citizens are given feed backs when they report any crime and at the same time upholding confidentiality of thev reporter of crime. The new Nigerian police is in tandem with the global best practice.

PoliticsDaddy, I'll Be A Pilot!' And He Was Only 4 Years Old - By Femi Adesina by AmuDimpka(op): 3:45am On Jun 26, 2017
Be careful what you dream about, it may well come to pass. Oluwatobi is my firstborn, "my might, and the beginning of my strength."
One day, when he was just four years old, we were all in the living room; myself, his mom, and his sister, when he exclaimed:"Daddy, I'll be a pilot!"
I looked at him, looked at his mother, and said casually: "What does he know about piloting?" For by then, Oluwatobi had not gone near an airport, not to talk of entering an airplane.

But somehow, what he said refused to leave my mind. Just like the biblical Mary, after the angel told her of the virgin conception, I "kept all those things, and pondered them" in my heart.

'Tobi (as we call him) began to live his dreams. He needed to see only the picture of an airplane in a newspaper or magazine, and he would cut it, file it away, or paste on the wall of his bedroom. When he was old enough to manipulate a computer, he always went to sites where he could read about aircraft.

I had thought he would outgrow the passion. But the older he grew, the firmer and clearer the dream became. "Daddy, I'll be a pilot!"

As a growing journalist with growing means, I got to the point I could go on vacation with my family once a year. We started with Ghana. Then South Africa. And London... Tobi was in secondary school, and talked about nothing save flying a plane. Each time we travelled, it was like nirvana. While I kept looking at my wristwatch, expecting the time we would land, my son, and his sister, Tosin, felt completely at home in the sky.
I had expected two people to baulk, and talk Tobi out of his dreams. His mother, and my own mother (Tobi's grandma, whom he was particularly close to). But the two women surprisingly did not dissuade the boy. They submitted to the perfect will of the Almighty. Underneath are the Everlasting Arms.

Never underestimate the power of dreams. At 18, my son packed his baggage, and was on the way to Aeronav Academy, in South Africa. The fees were staggering, but by then, I was Deputy Managing Director/ Deputy Editor-in-Chief of The Sun Newspapers. The pay was good enough, and with some belt tightening and lots of sacrifice, I could afford the fees.

Tobi got to Johannesburg at the peak of winter. "A cold coming we had of it, just the worst time of the year. For a journey, and such a long journey, the ways deep and the weather sharp, the very dead of winter." (T.S Eliot, The Journey of the Magi). I remember the first email he sent to me:"Daddy, it's so cold, I had to sleep with my shoes on." Lol. My heart went out to him, but he that would eat honey from the rock must never consider the blade of his axe.

By the end of his first year, he got the private pilot license. Second year, he got the commercial license. I was breathing like a hog under the financial burden, but didn't Jesus promise that his yoke was easy, "and my burden is light?" I kept trudging on, and one day, at age 21, my son was back, a fully licensed pilot.

But there was still one more river to cross. And when he told me about it, I almost bolted (just as our President almost did, when he saw the state of the treasury after inauguration into office).

Tobi told me of the need to proceed to Sweden, for a type rating license, in which he would specialize on the Boeing 737. A boy of 21 years, planning to fly a whole house in the sky? The money, in dollars, sent my heart racing, and my head spinning. But by then, I was already Managing Director/Editor-in-Chief of The Sun. The publisher was a welfarist, and he took good care of his staff. If the family would take garri, instead of corn flakes, well, we could send Tobi to Sweden. And off he went, coming back months later with a type rating license. Arik Airline gracefully gave him a job.

For almost two years, the young pilot has been plying his trade, but he never flew me. The closest we got was one Saturday morning, about a year ago. I had just landed in Lagos, and who did I meet on the tarmac? Tobi and the crew that was taking over the airplane for the next flight. Safe skies, I told him, after we had taken some pictures, along with Captain Mohammed, an Arik veteran.

Then D-day came. And it was Monday this week. I had gone to Lagos to be part of Fathers Day celebration in my church, Foursquare Gospel Church, which held on Sunday. Return journey was 7 a.m Monday, aboard Arik.

On Sunday night, Tobi told me: "Daddy, you'll be on my flight back to Abuja tomorrow." Great expectations.
I approached the aircraft with Mr Peter Obi, former governor of Anambra State, and an old friend. An airline staff collected my hand luggage, and took it onboard. I then offered to relieve the former governor of the burden of his own luggage. Trust the ever self-effacing man. He hid the bag behind his back, as I made for it. We laughed.

I was on Seat 1D. The former governor was directly behind me. I told him my son was the co-pilot, and he was so very happy and excited at the news. And then, who came in, and took Seat 1F, right beside me? Another gentleman and friend, Mr Godwin Emefiele, governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria. We began to chat about the economy, and the risks falling oil prices in the international market could pose to the steadying exchange rate of the dollar to the naira. That was when Tobi struck. He came out from the cockpit, and said the Captain had consented that I should be their guest throughout the flight.

I first declined. Flying in the air was tough enough, who wants to go and frighten himself to death in a cockpit?
"Daddy, come and see what you paid for. Come and see where your money went," my son said. I introduced him to the CBN governor, and excused myself from the cabin. The co-pilot to the co-pilot had come. Father and son were in the cockpit.
Captain Carretero Alberto hails from Spain. And what a genial man he turned out to be throughout the 55 minutes flight. I got to know about his family, his professional background, and many others. He had kind words to say about Tobi, and, indeed gave him the thumbs up sign many times, as the young pilot flew the plane, and made what he considered smart moves.

Preparing to lift into the air was a whole set of ceremony. Many things to check. Engines, lights, wings, doors, everything. As Tobi handled the joystick, the joy kiln was kindled in the heart of a proud father.

Communication with the control tower was continuous, and lasted almost throughout the flight. As the plane lifted, and soared into the deep, azure sky, I could not see a thing. Not the foggiest thing. How do pilots do it? But there was a forest of buttons and knobs. They kept touching and pressing them. Is this what they call instrumentation? At a point, the sun streamed in powerfully, in all its brightness. And they fixed their sun visors.

"This is why pilots wear sunglasses," Tobi told me.

As the journey progressed, memories flooded in. The plane was moving forward, but I was going back in time. I remembered that June 25, when unto me a child was born, and unto the Adesinas a son was given. When I got to the hospital, and he was brought out for me to have a look, I remember the yell he gave. Now, the tot of that day is flying a Boeing 737. What will he fly next, a 747 or Dreamliner? The wonders of our God.
Then I chuckled. What did I remember?

When Tosin, my daughter was born. Tobi was already three. He had not seen as much soft drinks as on the naming ceremony day. He drank Coke, Fanta, Pepsi, Sprite, everything. Then later, he came to meet me: "Daddy, my tomach (that was how he called it) is paining me. " I laughed, and asked why his tomach would not pain him, as I had seen him, mixing the drinks? Now, the boy is flying a plane.

I chuckled again. What is it this time? The time he was going to secondary school. A day before resumption, I had taken him to Ikeja, where we bought a pair of boots, which would be part of the school uniform. We barely got home before Tobi slipped into the boots, and for the rest of the evening, he strutted round the house in the jackboot. It was yeoman's effort to get him to remove it at bedtime. Even then, he put the boots daintily on his bed, throughout the night.

And then, the winter night he slept with his shoes on, in Johannesburg. Lol.
Soon, the plane swung right. And Tobi pointed the runway of the Abuja airport to me. We had begun to descend earlier, and would land in eight minutes. At the dot of that time, he brought the big bird gently onto the runway. What an experience for a father!

Since that Monday, when I posted the pictures of father and son on Facebook, the thanksgiving on our behalf has been overwhelming. I thank everyone who commented, and prayed for us. May your day of joy not be postponed. Amen.
My friend and brother, Onochie Anibeze, editor of Saturday Vanguard, asked for this write up exclusively for his newspaper. I was glad to oblige. Gloating is not one of the reasons I went public about my joy. Far from it. Rather, it is out of thankfulness to God. "And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and the word of their testimony." Glad to talk about the wonders of our God.
This is my story, this is my song. May every father have cause to rejoice in his son. And on the day of that joy, may the fathers not have toothache.

I can hear the amen.

Oh, glory to God.

CelebritiesCrushing On Runtown's Phone....seriously by AmuDimpka(op): 3:33am On Jun 25, 2017
When Runtown came to town, he came with not only music but some of the finest phone. One thing I noticed about him is his phone. I am particular about the phones that people use and there is this correlation between phone types and person’s outlook to live, their level, choice and taste. Runtown uses Infinix Hot S2! That’s some good taste he has.

I am a device addict and having used some of the finest phones, I have come to understand that one of the features I like in a phone is speed. Believe me, i am a game freak, I want that my Asphalt 8 to play seamlessly or my Dream League, these are pretty damn heat games with some great graphics. These games don’t play on some lousy phones but when i got my Infinix Hot S , it was great gaming period. That’s how my romance with the brand started. If Infinix had been a woman, I would have proposed. Now Infinix didn’t fail me here ,their new upgraded Hot S2 is equipped with a 64-bit octa-core processor, INFINIX S2 is primed for multitasking. Responsive fingerprint recognition achieves unlocking in 0.2 seconds. That’s impressive .

Those folks were not done yet, they came out with some “baaad” upgrade of hotS and gave us the one Runtown is using, an upgrade of poor me ! I am dreaming of it but my hotS is still on point just that the golden casing had started showing aging. With some whitish color showing, which had shown that there is nothing golden about the casing. Battery weakened by my usage and maybe having to walk around with power bank due to the 3500 mAH battery , Hot S is some good phone .

The new upgraded Hot S2 comes “badder” and better. Infinix awes and shocked the world with double front camera .That’s a very good moves. In a world that we have some great phones, Double front camera in a phone can be said to be an epic move. It’s a selfie lovers delight and groupies lovers paradise. Though the OEM will want to use wefies but I am okay with groupie. The front camera is 13 MP! Can you believe that! pictures comes out in natural state!

I think it is time for trade-off , the price is pretty cheap, the new Infinix Hot S2 (3GB RAM which is an upgrade from previous version which h is just lousy 2GB and 32GB internal memory which is expandable , who actually needs a memory card today when we have free cloud saving facilities around.

Infinix Hot S2 pricing is very okay, Checked Slot Phones, it sells around N65,000 and that’s to me, a fair deal for anybody that’s interested in a good phone. I am a believer of not breaking a bank to get a great phone and Infinix mobility had demonstrated this notion with this device. All I ask is ; Where can I do a trade off ? I am done with Hot S!

Caveat: Please, the device is smooth and beautifully crafted in some of the best crystal glass and is tempted to touch. Perfectly fits a ladies purse, especially that one they call envelope purse. It’s a beauty to behold …I am so getting you,no more crushing.

PoliticsNorthern Nigeria As A Challenge by AmuDimpka(op): 2:09pm On Jun 11, 2017
By Southern League Of Professionals

Did you know that southern Nigerians living in kano were killed by northerners for struggling for independence. It happened in 1953. They were attacked and killed by northerners opposed to independence after Anthony Enahoro called for independence in the Parliament in Lagos.

Did you know that Africa's first genocide was perpetrated by northerners in Nigeria. This genocide preceded that of Rwanda and was the first time in Africa a government, military, police, political, traditional institutions and civilians combined undertook the massacre of another ethnic group. This infamy happened between 1966 and 1967 in northern Nigeria/ continued through the war and put the nation on the global genocide list.

Did you know that regional police was scrapped because the northern government used the Native authorities regional police corruptly to intimidate/repress political opponents and rig elections.

Subsequently there were strident calls for regional police to be scrapped. It was eventually scrapped by Aguiyi/Gowon.

Did you know that the first election rigging in Nigeria was organised by the Northern Peoples congress. In 1960 due to lack of support by the TIV's the NPC rigged elections in TIV division leading to the TIV riots.

Did you know that the Northern Peoples congress rigged the 1962 census results leading to national crisis.

Did you know that in 1964 the Northern Peoples congress; Ahmadu Bello and Tafawa Balewa used federal power to massively rig elections in the Western region. This massive rigging led to riots (wetie) that led to scores dying dead on a daily basis. Rather than cancel the elections and organise fresh ones, Northern leader's allowed the riots and killings to continue for two years leading to the unfortunate military intervention in 1966.

Did you know that Nigeria was named the most corrupt country in the world under the leadership of Generals Babangida, Abacha and Abdulsalam Abubakar.

Did you know that all Nigeria's institutions collapsed under Northern rule. Refineries, Nigeria Airways, Railway lines, steel plants, Universities, hospitals, NEPA, NIPOST etc all collapsed during Babangida, Abacha, Abubakar regimes due to massive corruption.

Did you know that ethnic violence has been ongoing in the north since 1945. The first recorded riot in the north against other ethnic groups was in 1945. These killings have continued till today.

Northern nigeria is the only place in Africa where fellow citizens are routinely killed. Its no surprise that the North now harbours Boko haram and Fulani herdsmen both of which have been classified the 1st and 4th deadliest terrorist groups in the world by the Global Terrorism Index (GTI).

Did you know that from hitherto killing of christians in the core north, Fulani herdsmen now attack and kill Nigerians/christians in their home states without consequence because the Northern led federal government is protecting them. Such killings have taken place in Benue, Enugu, Kogi, Delta etc.

Did you know that Northen leaders support Boko haram and Fulani herdsmen terrorists. They have never for once criticised, condemned or called for the arrest/prosecution of Boko haram or fulani terrorists.

Did you know that the North habours the poorest and most destitute illiterate population in the world. This was recently confirmed by Emir Sanusi.

Despite controlling power since independence the north has the world's poorest/destitute/illiterate population due to harbouring Nigeria's most corrupt elite.

Did you know that despite the claimed bogus population, the north has never produced any literary giant/ academician of note. While the Yorubas have produced Wole Soyinka, Ola Rotimi etc the Ibos Chinua Achebe, Chimmamanda Adichie etc the core north cannot boast of a single literary/academic figure.

Did you know that for entrance into unity schools the South has the highest cut off point while the north has the lowest. For example a man from Delta, Ogun or Anambra state who scores 170/200 might not be admitted while a man from Zamfara who scores 9/200 will be admitted. This mediocrity/Apartheid continues till today.

Did you know that Moshood Abiola won the freest and fairest election in 1993 but the election was cancelled and he was killed because the north didn't want a Yoruba to come to power.

Did you know that next door in Ghana a single ethnic group the Akan/Ashanti make up 50 percent of the country's population but they have not claimed to be "born to rule" nor do they oppress other ethnic groups but in Nigeria where Hausa plus fulani make up less than 30 percent of the population they arrogantly claim to be "born to rule" accordingly oppressing other ethnic groups/ refusing to enthrone justice and equality.

Did you know that when as a Southerner you move to the core north you are segregated into " Sabon gari" (strangers quaters) and when northerners move down south they segregate themselves into "Hausa quarters" because they don't beleive in Nigeria and don't want to mix/integrate with other Nigerians.

Did you know that in creative industries ie Nollywood, music, comedies, sports and other entertainment the core north is nowhere to be found.

Did you know that in 2000 the core north went against Nigeria's constitution and declared Sharia in 12 northern states thereby technically rebelling and separating themselves from the rest of Nigeria. Ensuing Sharia riots took more than 20,000 lives.

Did you know that the core north has been alone in opposing every progressive attempt to restructure and move the country foward prefering instead to maintain the parasitic, unworkable, unjust and corrupt status quo.

The core north/Hausa Fulani are Nigeria's greatest faultline/problem. They are corrupt, unprogressive, unjust, domineering and murderous with no regard for human life.

Except a definitive decision is taken by the rest of the country willing to restructure to separate from them, Nigeria will never know peace or progress.
