ahaika23:Dutsinma University was not built but rather upgraded from a college of education. And prior to that, Katsina already had two universities before Dutsinma. |
JonBee1:On Point. What do you expect. Nigerians always have something to say. And d way some people comment, you just cant help but wonder if there well upstairs. |
Billions here, billions there. They make it sound like its just chicken change. Instead of asking critical questions and soliciting for answers, some would rather be raining abuses. Some would go tribal, add religion etc. Nigerians deserve the leaders they get. |
Bros! I must admit. Ur posts are always funny. keep it up. |
ehispapa:Dont want to really go into politics but truth is only thing that has really changed in kd in d last 15yrs is kawo bridge and rapid urbanisation in barnawa/kd south. Kaduna shud hv been far ahead with purposeful leadership. The city is still not looking bad, just stagnant. |
ehispapa:You probably lived in the angwas with talakawas. Gud thing u hv relocated. |
Amokwe: Fact that you can checkoutAnd how did you come about this conclusion? |
Different account here. One person was said to have been killed, several cars and motorcycles destroyed while stalls were burnt during a clash between motorcyclists and some traders at the Dei-Dei building material market in Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), yesterday. The fracas led to the closure of some parts of the market with several security operatives, including policemen, soldiers, and members of the State Security Service deployed to the market to calm the situation. Our reporter counted about six vehicles destroyed in the market, while the road was littered with shattered pieces of windshield with the remains of two burnt motorcycles pushed inside drainage. No business activity took place at the usually busy market. According to Fred James, a trader at the market, trouble started around 9 a.m, after a motorcyclist had hit a trader. “When the motorcyclist hit the trader, he was approached by some traders while another motorcyclist shielded him,” said James, adding that “the person that hit the trader ran away, making the traders to hold on to the other okada man.” He said that the held motorcyclist brought out a knife and stabbed one of the traders. James added: “He was taken to a nearby hospital but he was rejected and died before he could be taken to another hospital. Then, when the traders heard, trouble started.” Another trader, who did not want his name mentioned, said the traders, mainly Igbos, started accosting motorcyclists, but none was killed. “They burnt the make-shift accommodation of many innocent Hausa people and burnt used tyre on the road,” the witness said, adding that the traders descended on every Hausa man seen around the market. When City News visited the market, many Hausa men were seen chased with planks and stones out of the market, while security operatives had to shoot two canisters of tear gas to disperse the traders. The motorcyclists, who were gathered at the NNPC petrol station, near the expressway following the incidence, maintained that nobody was killed. Yusuf Aminu, a motorcyclist, said a trader and not a motorcyclist started the fracas and nobody was killed. Aminu said: “It was a vehicle that hit an okada man (motorcyclist) and the passenger, a rice seller fell, pouring the content on the floor. While the okada man was insulting the driver, another man came from behind and slapped him.” He said the okada man attempted hitting the trader with a stone but he was not successful. “Then the Igbo men started stopping okada men and seizing their motorcycles. I was held too but I was saved by the passenger I carried.” Aminu said the Igbo people blocked the road from the tomato and timber sections. Police officers at the scene declined to comment on the issue, while our reporters could not reach the head of the traders association. Security operatives were seen at the market but motorcyclists were yet to be allowed to ply the road as at the time of filing this report yesterday afternoon. When contacted, the Kubwa Police Area Commander, Tony Olofu, an Assistant Commissioner of police, confirmed the incident, but said no death was recorded from the clash as claimed by some people. He said he had met with the parties involved to calm the situation. Bwari Area Council Chairman, Peter Yohanna Ushafa, promised to get back to City News when contacted on phone yesterday, but failed to do so up till the time of filling the report, late yesterday. http://www.dailytrust.com.ng/daily/city-news/35586-crisis-rocks-dei-dei-market |
Humble beginnings.... till time changes us.. |
I hope the directive doesn't apply to highways. Even with the tips they collect I don't mind. Our highways are not safe esp at night times. |
Not backing sheriff tho! but everyone one knows sheriff has business interests with CHad and Niger long before he even became a governor. He was a successful business man and has had close ties with past military govt's in Nigeria, chad n Niger. So the presidency dont know all this! story story |
OkijaAmaka: lol @ an aboki giving nyamiri scholarship.....whoever believed this will also believed that Sultan endorses Guinness StoutDon't stay there and laugh. Call your brothers in kano who are sincere or try and get the admission list and see for yourself. You'd see names from your part of the country, I never believed till I met some myself. Believe what you want too. The bias is already ingrained. |
seyigiggle: I expected some knocked brain to respond this way. don't be blinded by your passion. I repeat he is a tribalistic Governor now answer this. how many road did he construct in sabon garri? yes he gave them street light on IBO road and Burma road and walkway. why did he attack the drugs sellers in sabon garri market and send only his people for training and position them to overtake the biz? answer these two firstWhat of Sarkin Yaki rd and Zungeru rd? Your drug sellers that are selling fake and expired drugs and also supplying Crack to Kano youths. The sellers should have been prosecuted, but if he does that, your ilk will still come out and scream tribalism. |
adconline: I'm no partisan! All I know is that a public official who uses money meant for his state's education to build a French school in another country should be tried for economy sabotage and called enemy of the state. For that I cannot say, only time would tell if its beneficial to the state or an ill conceived idea. |
BuddahMonk: @Bolded, i was keenly reading the conjecture to know whether Igbos wont come into lies but my curiosity never disappointed, what a hatefilled hausa Fulani does not give an Igbo when he want to buy it, is it the same thing that he will give him free of charge.Visit ABU, Zaria or BUK, Kano and you'd be surprised with what you'll find. Hearsay never helps. Believe what you want. They benefit from those scholarships and I have come across a few of them when I was doing my masters. |
EkoIle. Thanks for the education. Too bad some would still ignore all this because of Natural born hatred. They can go and hug transformer for all I care ![]() |
Folks just get high blood pressure when they here good things happening in the north, they rather here bombs going off and look for dumb excuses to castigate the entire region. Kano is working and progress is being made. It is there for all to see. If you still don't believe it, google is your friend. I know what my governor is doing. Can you say the same about your Governor? |
F117A: My useless governor? We Were doing very fine before the union, and would still be better if the marriage fails. |
adconline: It's either you're arithmetically challenged to see the huge difference in number of kids going to school in Kano vs number of kids going to school in Anambra-- or maybe you are a beneficiary of the status quo- deny them education! Niaija has one of the highest child illiteracy rates in the world- all thanks to this type of ur denial. It seems you get a kick out of this your statistics. Stats are good, but what is it when you compare it to past norms and reality. You forget kano is not anambra. You also forget the fact in our part of the country ,going to school for a typical mostly rural northerner is not a priority until recently the trend has started to change. Back in my growing up days, whenever we went home, I could count the number of females going to school then. But in the last 10-20yrs , female enrolment has sky rocketed and parents are more embracing of western education. Almost half of my life, the primary school in my hometown used to be 4 blocks of two classrooms. Shekarau came and added another 4 classrooms during his tenure. Kwankwaso added 8 classrooms in the last two years, giving room for more enrolment. Im told he did this in all the 44 local govt's. Also making education free to encourage parents to send their kids to school. Adult education has been introduced through women affairs ministry in conjuction with various NGO's, and older folks are enrolling in droves. A new university added and another under construction for only females. Scholarships galore, and this is for both indigenes and non indigenes that were born and grew up in kano. A lot of igbo's that were born in sabon gari apply for those schorlarship. So keeping churning out the numbers, it used to be worse. Rome was not built in a day. Where not there yet but steadily we will. So I still say stick to what you know (Numbers). And dont give me any party affiliation nonsense. Im not a politician and I dont waste my time arguing about that. Im more about personalities than any rubbish party. |
The way some people castigate is just ridiculous. Is a education a short term project? Strides have been made in education in kano compared to a little while ago. Enrolment has increased due to free education, A university established, schools renovated en masse to make learning conducive, scholarships have been given out like never before to indigenes and non indigenes both home and abroad. But some would rather give statistics and throw banters like miracles happen in a flash. Kano is not there yet but progress is being made. |
Chuckdee: 3rd party...I wouldnt mind No 6. On the list. The interior LED package. Cool.. |
adconline: Yet Kano with 10m folks registered 66k students for 2014 WAEC while Anambra with 4.3m folks registered about 52k. Wonder why Boko Haram is terrorizing the state? We must learn how to speak truthfully to power. So all 10m and 4.3m respectively should write waec right. Speaking truthfully or ignorantly. Pls stick to what you know... |
Chuckdee: Here is the list:Nice Ride.. The items you ordered, were they delivered to you directly or did you do it with help from a 3rd party? |
I drive one, Sweet ride so far, parts are readily available. Only issue i have is the low suspension, def not good for bad roads. |
crisycent: I hope the 2011 is not like this? And also that Camry is not bad because I have Honda at the back of my mind but my mechanic says Toyota is stronger especially the legs compared to Honda.Same reason I went ahead to get a Toyota myself, My former Civic gave me leg issues while our romance lasted. I had to go for repairs on my camry sometime back and the mechanic that changed my ball joints was shocked it was still intact at the state he saw it. He said if it was a Honda, it would have pulled out long ago.. |
Kwankwaso is like that. He's a comedian and knows how to make bashful, funny , witty comments. If in kano, You should listen to freedom fm radio in to understand this... |
Help with : 4t1be46k47u645131 Mail to othman2k@hotmail.com Thanks |
Descartes: I may be wrong. Pls where is he from.Al mustapha hails from yobe state... but grew up in kano... He's accepted as a kano man in most circles. |
MeAboki: He is a no hoper in this race, the dude never lived in Kano let alone develop any real connection with the ppl; in fact he can hardly speak Hausa and what he can muster comes out with a ridiculously bad accent.Agreed. He should have even started with House of Reps and gradually climb the ropes.. Make connections with the grassroots and gradually build a formidable network. Governorship, id say is too ambitious.. |
