Health / Things You Should Know About Electric Toothbrush by AMZYMAYO(m): 1:44pm On Mar 29, 2018
Are you considering switching from the conventional toothbrush and invest in a great electric toothbrush? Then this short guide will answer most of your question.

What is an Electric Toothbrush

An electric toothbrush is a type of brush that is engineered to vibrate on its own while using it on your teeth. What am I saying? Instead of the usual up and down movement that you do with your typical toothbrush, the vibration in the electric toothbrush will do the cleaning in a faster and more efficient way.

What Are The Types of Electric Toothbrush

As at the compilation of this article, we have two major types:

1 The battery-powered electric toothbrush (Using dry cell or what you know as a finger battery)
2 The battery-powered electric toothbrush (a rechargeable version that comes with a wired or wireless charger). Here is an electric toothbrush that comes with a wireless charger

Is An Electric Toothbrush Effective

An electric toothbrush is found to be at least five times better than the best conventional toothbrush. It comes with a sonic head that won’t damage your gum, and it removes cavities and plaques up to 10 times more.

Will I still Use My Hand To Control The Brush

Yes. You’ll still need to hold the brush in position to have the proper contact with your teeth

Do I Need Toothpaste

Yes. You can use any dentist recommended toothpaste with your electric toothbrush for the best cleaning experience

Can I Use It To Wash My Tongue

Yes. An electric toothbrush can also be used on your tongue without damaging it.

Which Electric Toothbrush Should I Use

You should go with the ones that have the 2-minutes timer and comes with a sonic head. With that, you can be sure of not damaging your gum. You should also select the one that has various brushing modes, and, of course, is pocket-friendly. Fortunately for you, The Somocare Electric Toothbrush fills all the gaps perfectly.

Are They Usually Waterproof

There isn’t much difference between your regular brush and your electric brush when it comes to dipping them into the water. Most electric toothbrushes come with a reliable waterproof that can stand your shower and your daily dip and brush needs.

Are There Any Disadvantages

Nothing serious. People that are used to brushing their teeth past the recommended 2 minute may need 2 to 3 days adjusting to life with their new brush. However, with the outstanding brushing effects on an electric brush, you’ll soon forget your old, bad habits and beliefs of brushing past 2 minutes.

Does It Come With Replacement Heads?

Most, if not all, usually come with at least a replacement head. And you can always get new replacement heads at cheap prices when it’s time.

Health / Comedogenic Skin: Here Are The Ingredients You Should Avoid If You Have Acne by AMZYMAYO(m): 8:51pm On Mar 18, 2018
Acne is one of the commonest problems that is facing over 90% of the people in the world. Both males and females are facing this problem. When you have acne, the least you want to do is to aggravate the problem further. You don’t want to cause more breakout that will leave your skin with swollen, small bumps all over your face.

What is Comedogenic?

You might have probably come across non comedogenic lotions, non comedogenic face moisturizer, non comedogenic moisturizer, and so many others with the “non comedogenic” name. What is the meaning of non comedogenic?

To just put, comedogenic is used for products that clog the pores, thereby promoting the formation of acne. The least you want is to pack on your skin products that are loaded with high comedogenic oils and comedogenic ingredients.

So in this short read, we’ll go through the list of oils you can use when you have an acne prone skin, and the oils you should avoid, completely.

I must say this; the comedogenic has its ratings– the higher the score, the more pore-clogging it would be.

Comedogenic Ratings at a Glance

5 Rating – Will clog pores
4 Rating – Fairly High
3 Rating – Moderate
2 Rating – Moderately Low
1 Rating – Low probability
0 Rating – It won’t clog your pores

If you are like me with acne-prone skin, you want to do all You can to avoid 5 ratings down to 2 ratings. In fact, I’ll advise you stick with the 0 rating products.

How will I know the comedogenic ratings of a product? Good question. You see, I like creating my skin care products. And I recommend you start creating yours. But if you don’t have that time, you can conduct a patch test to determine if the cosmetic product will clog your pores or not.

I must admit, before I share the ratings with you, that I sometimes use comedogenic oils in the 1 rating and 2 Ratings. But anything outside that is a no-no for me.

So, let’s see if your favorite Oil or product makes it to the list of the red zone.

Red Flag Ingredients
Cocoa Butter
Coconut Butter
Coconut Oil
Flax Seed Oil
Linseed Oil
Palm Oil
Wheat Germ Oil

Before I delve into the topic proper, I believe, by now, you already know what acne (pimples) is and the best way to tackle it. In case you’re new to the whole thing, you can quickly catch up with my previews post on acne and how best to treat it.

How To Remove Pimples Scars
Now let’s consider some Do It Yourself (DIYs) that you can prepare right in your kitchen to remove your pimples mark:

This potent potato juice can also work best for your sunburn and other scars that didn’t eat deep into your dermis.

Olive oil
Lemon Juice
Honey

Health / Vitamin C For Acne – Here Is How Vitamin C Will Help You Overcome Acne by AMZYMAYO(m): 8:58pm On Mar 16, 2018
Are you struggling with acne and want out? Are you tired of the pimples on your face and you just want a blemish-free skin? Then you might just need to consider Vitamin C for acne…

Before I delve right into the topic (vitamin c for acne), let’s look at some vital info about vitamin C:

It is a powerful antioxidant that stops the effect of free radicals that are responsible for skin aging. Vitamin C breaks the radicals down into harmless compounds that are neutral to the skin.
Vitamin C makes the skin looks clearer and even out the skin tone
Vitamin C rejuvenates the skin and acts as a barrier against toxins that cause blemishes on the skin.
Vitamin C reduces the appearance of dark areas
Vitamin C helps in the production of new skin by promoting collagen and elastin production. Vitamin C strengthens the skin cells, making them firmer and tighter. Here you can find more on the skin and hair benefits of Vitamin C

2 Types of Vitamin C

Natural

Natural Vitamin C- This type comes from natural sources – fruits, vegetables, plants, etc. Some examples of food sources are peppers, citrus fruits, berries, etc.

Synthetic - Vitamin C formulated in the lab, usually from acetone, corn syrup, and many others. Examples of synthetic vitamin C are

Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate
Sodium Ascorbyl Palmitate
Ester-C
L-ascorbic Acid
Ascorbyl Palmitate
Ascorbyl Glucosamine
Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate, etc.

How Acne Is Formed On Your Skin
Acne is caused when the sebum coming from the sebaceous gland is prevented by a clogged Keratin layer (honey layer or the outer skin). When this happens, the sebum begins to accumulate within the epidermis, causing swellings on the surface of the skin.

In my previous article on acne, I discussed the various stages of acne. If these swellings are not inflamed by the acne-causing bacteria (P.acne), then they can be either blackhead or whiteheads. Otherwise, the swelling, with the activities of the acne-causing bacteria, may form papules, pustules, or cysts.

I believe you understand my point, right? So, here is where Vitamin C comes to the rescue.

Why Vitamin C For Acne?
By now, you already know that vitamin C is a potent antioxidant. It is also an anti-inflammatory. You see, when the P.acne bacteria inflames the swollen sebum in your enclosed pores, there is inflammation in the form of redness and pain (most especially).

When you applied Vitamin C topically or use it orally, it tones down this reaction, reducing redness and pain. In other words, Vitamin C prevents the immune system from overreacting to the effects of the acne-causing bacteria.

Also, Vitamin C prevents the occurrence of damage to your skin by strengthening the collagen and elastin fibers – proteins responsible for creating new skin cells.

3 Vitamin C for Acne Treatments

Now It’s time to consider some fast DIY for your acne using Vitamin C

Vitamin C Oral Use

Vitamin C SupplementThe vitamin C foundation recommends that you take 1000mg three times daily. Taking it three times daily will increase the chances of having Vitamin C in your system all through the day. Vitamin C is water soluble, and it rarely stays in the bloodstream longer than 30 minutes.

You can always get the recommended usage of Vitamin C from your fruits and food, and from supplements.

Vitamin C Serum

There are tones of serums you can use on your acne-infested skin. Apart from being a potent antioxidant, Vitamin C Serum will lighten your acne and pimples scars

Make Your Vitamin C Serum

Ingredients

2 Tablespoons Distilled Water
Half Tablespoon Glycerin
Half Tablespoon L-ascorbic Acid
Dark glass bottle

Procedure

First sterilize your glass bottle in alcohol, bleach, or hot water. Make sure the bottle is completely dry
Add your Vitamin C (L-ascorbic Acid) in the bottle
Add your Distilled Water and stir very well
Add your glycerin and mix properly
Apply few drops on your cotton wool and apply it on your neck, face, and you can use it on dark areas as well

Precaution

Store in a dark area to slow down the oxidation time of Vitamin C
