Story Story Once upon a time, time time

When we all went to Nigeria summer last year, my dad stayed behind because of work. A few of my mom's "friends" called asking if they could "make stew for him" and that he must be hungry and all that rubbish about loneliness. He politely said No and told them that he usually makes his own food anyway. The funny thing was that these women would usually come to our house and KNEW that he's the one that makes pounded yam and all that as my mom has never picked a mortar(for pounded yam anyway) in her life so for them to make such retarded suggestions just proved how conniving they are.

Everytime my mom called him from Nigeria, he would tell her about how so and so called him about wanting to bring food and they would both just laugh on the phone together. Seriously it's hilarious how pathetically ridiculous some Nigerian women are. Awon asewo oshi.

Now had my dad been one of those lazy men who relied on others for everything, he would have fallen for their crap. This happens all the time in most Nigerian homes and it's quite depressing. HOPE ALL THOSE KINGS, THAT FEEL THEIR WIVES SHOULD ALWAYS DO THE COOKIN WILL LEARN FROM THIS

@daividylan, sorri about my mistake, i ment that b4 i get married myself and my future hubby will lay our cards on table and should be ableto  come  to a compromise. if  he is a guy that feels its my duty to do all the household work incuding the cooking without his help then  he is  definatly not 4 me.All i am sayin is that whoever i  end up with should be able to help out with the household work and  i in return will  work and also bring in  money, cos i will never be a stay at home mum.If we both bring in money together to run our home what stops him from  helping out with the household chores?

@davidlany , i dont have to wait untill i am married to no what i want, its better i get these things sorted with whoever my future partner maybe, so we dont have problems when we are married if he is cool with my demands then we are cool but if he is not, then its goodbye baby.

Why would I refuse in the first place? I can't really make any assumptions of what my marriage will be like. maybe I'll be the one to finish earlier at work and when I get home I'll make sure I cook. There is nothing more stressful than arriving home with nothing to eat. If on the other hand my husband is the first to arrive home, then he can also cook.
What would make me refuse to cook is if in the last scenario, I come home and meet him on the sofa waiting for me to come and prepare some food. That would be making me understand that it's my duty no matter what and that's what I can't accept.
I am willing to cook anyway when we are having romantic dinners. It strengthens the intimacy between us,
