• Oversee the technical management, supervision and control of industrial processes to ensure operations optimisation and efficiency; in line with business goals.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
• Provide relevant input in the articulation and development of milling and production departmental strategy.
• Distill the departmental objectives and expectations to set clear goals for team members.
• Oversee budget development, implementation and monitoring for milling and production departments.


Operational
• Provide overall technical leadership necessary to ensure that production and milling divisions meet goals in key performance areas of cost, quality, efficiencies and volumes.
• Develop, revise and improve standard operating procedures to ensure compliance with established regulations.
• Develop and deploy effective lean manufacturing strategies and monitor implementation across all milling and production units to curtail waste and improve process efficiency.
• Ensure consistently high quality product through the effective management of milling and production, from raw material receipt, through to processing and final product release.
• Ensure constant monitoring of production efficiencies in all factories to achieve optimal operating performance and minimal down time.
• Champion continuous improvement and implement successful strategies to achieve overall operational excellence.
• Review and monitor the implementation of preventive maintenance programmes to achieve minimal machine downtimes and improve operational efficiency.
• Lead the planning, development and execution of expansion/improvement project.
• Participate in the realisation of new, brownfield and greenfield projects.
• Foster a “zero tolerance” OSE and GMP culture throughout the company and strive for world-class safety performance by ensuring that finished products meet the company and government standards of quality, sanitation and safety.
• Keep abreast of trends/updates impacting the manufacturing industry and make appropriate recommendation to management.
• Lead and effectively manage the performance of subordinates/team members towards the achievement of unit, functional and organisational objectives.
• Compile and review reports on milling and production operations and present to management for decision making.

Competency and Skills Requirements
• Refer to HFMP competency catalogue.
Experience and Qualification
• A first degree or its equivalent in science or any relevant discipline.
• Relevant post graduate degree (MBA, MSc) will be an added advantage.
• Professional certification such as NABIM or any other recognised certification.
• Minimum of twelve (12) years’ work experience with at least seven (5) years in managerial position.
