Ebele Obiano, the wife of former Governor of Anambra State, was captured on video trying to pacify businessman, Chief Okey Ezeibe who disgraced her husband in an event by refusing to have a handshake with him. The incident took place at an event in Houston, Texas, where Ezeibe refused to shake hands with the former governor.

In the viral video, Ebele Obiano can be seen jokingly holding onto Okey Ezeibe, attempting to pacify him and begging him to forgive her husband. Ezeibe makes it clear that his issue is solely with Former Governor Willie Obiano, and not with Ebele Obiano herself.

This encounter occurred at the same event where Okey Ezeibe declined to shake hands with Willie Obiano. Anambra People Magazine previously reported on the incident, which took place in Houston, Texas.

Soludo Finally Demolishes Olulu Eke Deity in Ekwulobia(Video)

The Anambra State Government has successfully demolished the popular "Olulu Eke Deity" in Ekwulobia in order to make way for the construction of a flyover at the town's roundabout. This comes after Governor Soludo had previously threatened to remove the deity, which was met with resistance from worshippers.

The Udo Olulu Eke deity holds significant reverence among worshippers in Ekwulobia and the surrounding area of Aguata. Even the Chief priest of Udo Olulu Eke Ekwulobia, known as Okenye (the Ancient One), had challenged the government's intentions. Okenye argued that if Governor Soludo believed the government owned the site of Udo Olulu Eke in Ekwulobia, then he should attempt to destroy or remove it without following due process. He emphasized the potential repercussions that the forceful demolition may have and disclosed that he was merely delivering a message as instructed.

From the viral video of the demolition, the driver of the caterpillar operating the machinery was seen dropping a kola nut on the ground as a sign of respect to the deity before he could proceed.

The demolition of the Olulu Eke Deity was executed as part of the government's development plan to facilitate the construction of Ekwulobia flyover. While the plan is viewed as beneficial for the town, Governor Soludo has faced opposition and warnings about the potential consequences of removing the deity.

Senator representing Anambra South in the Nigerian Senate, Ifeanyi Ubah has hit back at Anambra State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo for using what he described as his "attack dog" in running a smear campaign against his person and equally insulting his Nnewi constituents.

Recall that Chinedu Obigwe, founder of APGA media warriors,had recently, reacting to a write up where Senator Ifeanyi Ubah boosted it was the turn of ndi Nnewi to govern Anambra State addressed the Senator in a condescending manner.

Speaking through his media aide ,Chuks Kamen, Senator Ubah describes Soludo's leadership in the State as lackluster and noted that Anambrarians have started discussions on Soludo's replacement just 2 years in to his administration.

In a statement released by Chuks kamen,He wrote:


"My attention has been drawn to the above-captioned tirade from a notorious media attack dog on the payroll of Professor Chukwuma Soludo’s government, by the name Chinedu Obigwe, alias Akpaekpuchionwa, whose penchant for running smear campaigns on eminent personalities and stakeholders in the state, on the orders of the State Governor is well-known and well documented on this media space.

"It is worthy to note that this unprovoked state government-sponsored media attack on the distinguished senator of the Federal Republic as well as the entire members of his community, Nnewi, is purportedly in response to a little-known blog’s news item that neither emanated from the Senator nor from his media office.



"It is also worth noting at this juncture that this is the third state-sponsored media attack on prominent citizens of Anambra in the last few weeks, the first being the media attack on Chief Obiora Okonkwo, the CEO of United Nigeria Airlines.

"This was closely followed by another series of state-sponsored social media attacks on the Chief Executive Officer of G.U.O Transport, Chief Dr. (Sir) Godwin Ubaka Okeke, MON, whose only sin was his demand that his company driver who was thoroughly beaten and dehumanised by state government thugs be given fair treatment and compensated.

"Secondly, Professor Soludo is a governor who came into office riding on the back of huge expectations from Ndi Anambra and Nigerians in general but the question is, has that transformed into any tangible results and which one of his electoral promises has he fulfilled almost two years into his tenure including the promise of conducting local government elections within six months of swearing in.

"Of course, the answer is NON.

Madonna University is a private Catholic institution located in Okija, Anambra State. It was established in 1999 by Fr. Emmanuel Edeh with the goal of providing holistic education to students. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru for the good work he is doing in Ebonyi State. He is the most mentioned Governor as regards his good start.

My name is Aka Jean-Philips Ifeanyi, from Anambra State and am the CEO of AKAJEAN & COMPANY/BN: 2018666. On August 2022, My Company had an Agreement with Ebonyi State Government to Supply and Install 200Kw (276HP) EBARA FIRE PUMP PACK (Electric, Diesel and Jockey), 2-SETS at Ebonyi State International Airport Onueke. The total Contract sum is Sixty-Eight Million, Eight Hundred Thousand Naira only and that the payment was to be made in parts which is 70% of the contract sum shall be released for the mobilization, 15% shall be released upon supply of the equipment to site and the final 15% shall be released upon the installation and Testing of the Fire Pumps Sets. And I was given five (5) weeks to deliver.

As someone who wants to establish a working relationship with the Government of Ebonyi State, I went to Bank and took loan so as to be able to deliver the Job. I contacted my partners in Turkey and begged to accept part payment from me and Freight the necessary equipments required to produce a quality Fire Pumps and they accepted.

I have supplied the pumps and was paid the 85% which was for the mobilization and supply to site. I have also Installed with Steel Pipes works fabrications and we have Tested the Pump Sets and confirmed that it is performing optimally, with attestation letter requested by the government for my final payment approval.

The Government of Ebonyi State under the Former Governor His Excellency Sen David Nweze Umahi has APPROVED my Final Payments in May and has asked the Accountant General to pay me. Ever since then, they have refused to effect the payment and I have written to them on several occasions and have made huge financial commitment to realize that money. I have been to Ebonyi on right ( different occasions from Lagos and on the invitation of the various Government functionaries ranging from Commissioners, SAs, PA and others. I have stayed in a hotel in Ebonyi for 42 days just to make sure that the government pay me this money but to no avail.

The most worrisome thing about this is that the bank I took loan from has clamped down on my business. I don’t have money again to finance the new jobs which I got and things are not funny on my side. None of them at the government house is picking my calls again.

One of those days I was staying in Ebonyi State, one of my guy came and told me in confidence that I should leave the state. That my continued disturbance of the state government over my money may cost me my life. I quickly took to my heel.

All I beg Nigerians is to come to my aide and assist me in begging the Ebonyi State Government to pay me my money so that I can pay back the loan I took from bank even if I did not make anything from the job.

Peter Obi Mourns 3 Anambra Students Struck Dead by Lightning


Peter Obi, former Governor of Anambra State and Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party, has expressed deep sorrow following the tragic death of three students in Anambra State. The students were struck by lightning while engaging in football training at their school field.

Mr Obi took to social media to share his condolences with the affected families, students, and management of Tansi International College in Awka. He expressed his shock over the unfortunate natural disaster .

He wrote on x


"I am greatly saddened by the unfortunate natural disaster that happened at Tansi International College, Awka this weekend. It was reported that 9 students of the College were struck by thunder, on Saturday, November 4, during a rainstorm.

"Sadly, 3 of the students lost their lives, while the rest are responding to treatment at the hospital. I commiserate with the bereaved families, students, and management of the College. May God give all the strength to bear this great loss, and grant eternal rest to the dead, and quick recovery to the injured. -PO"

Lightning strikes 9 students playing football in Anambra, kills 3



Lightning has killed three Senior Secondary School (SS3) students in Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra.

The incident happened on Saturday.

An eye witness told our correspondent that the lightning struck nine male students who were playing football with their peers on the school pitch barefooted.

“The students were practicing on the football pitch with their coach preparatory to a football tournament.

“The coach had ended the training session before rain started, but some of the students stayed behind to continue playing football.

“Lightning, accompanied by claps of thunderstorm suddenly enveloped the area and the boys were struck in the process.

“A teacher heard the students screaming and running. He ran to the field and saw at least nine students trembling and jerking on the turf.

“That was when he raised the alarm and people gathered to help. The boys were immediately rushed to the school clinic, from where they were taken to hospital in Awka.

“Six of the nine boys were resuscitated and are currently receiving treatment, but three did not survive. Their parents have been contacted,’’ the witness told NAN.

A resident, Mrs Hope Egwu, told our correspondent that news of the accident went round on Sunday and everyone had been held spellbound.


At the hospital in Awka, parents and sympathisers trooped into the ward where the survivors were receiving treatment.

A doctor, who requested anonymity, told our correspondent that three out of the nine boys were brought into the hospital dead, but six others were revived.

“As of now, parents of two of the dead boys have taken the corpses away, while one is still in the mortuary.

“It is sad that they were playing on the field barefooted. If they had boots on, the impact of the lightning would probably have been minimised,’’ he said.


When contacted, police spokesman in Anambra, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, said the incident had not been reported to the police.

Speaking on the incident, Prof. Chukwudi Okani, Consultant Pathologist at the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital, Awka, said it was a natural disaster and not spiritual.

Okani said lightning could kill by electrocution through direct strike, side splash or ground current strike.

He advised that people should install thunder arrestors in their buildings to stave off electrical current in the event of lightning.

Anambra billionaire and founder of Legacy Motors , Chief Okey Ezeibe, disgraces Obiano in an event in Houston Texas.

Chief Okey Ezibe was seen refusing to accept handshake from the ex governor at a public function.

Okey Ezibe who is a PDP Chieftain, is a die hard supporter of former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi.

His refusal to have a handshake with Obiano might not be unconnected with the way Obiano treated Peter Obi, his friend ,when he held sway as governor.

This incident in Texas seems to be a manifestation of the political differences and personal grievances between Chief Okey Ezibe and ex Governor Obiano. The refusal to shake hands can be seen as a symbolic act of protest against Obiano's actions towards Okey's friend, Peter Obi. It also highlights the divisions within the political landscape of Anambra State.

Is Prof Soludo Becoming A Tyrant?



There has been so many brutal incidents that have happened in the administration of governor professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo since his assumption of office on March 17, 2022 that the governor has refused to condemn.

These brutal incidents were perpetrated by his Aides and political appointees but the governor's silence and refusal to investigate, suspend and sanction the Aides and appointees involved in those acts shows they have his support to carry out such brazen impunity.

1. On June this year during the teachers recruitment exercise by the Soludo’s administration, there were inhuman treatments and verbal abuse of job seekers by the Commissioner for Education, Prof Ngozi Chuma Udeh. There was a stampede at the venue of the recruitment due to improper planning, but rather than take responsibility for poor planning, the Commissioner transferred her failures to the applicants

Sadly, Prof Soludo backed her action and refused to sanction her.

2. On July 2022, Prophet Chukwuemeka Odumeje was manhandled and physically beaten by the Anambra state task force while demolishing his church at Onitsha.

The video footage of Prophet Odumeje attracted condemnation online. Prof Soludo in his official Facebook handle condemned the assault but hours later, the post was deleted and pulled down from Facebook. It was gathered that the governor was unhappy that one of his aides could condemn the act with seeking clearance from him.

His administration backed the assault and physical beaten of Odumeje.

3. On September 2023, one Peter Uduekwelu from Agulu was killed by the Anambra state revenue collectors. The state govt has not publicly condemned the act nor arrested the culprits for prosecution. It took a daily protest of Agulu community for police to order for investigation.

4. Yesterday, there was a brutal attack with matchet on the driver of GUO motors. The attack was supervised by Hon Ossy Onuko, the ACTDA boss.

While the public was condemning the attack, the office of the governor issued a press statement backing the brutality and claiming that the GUO driver was reckless while overtaking the ACTDA boss on a high way.

This is a sign of tyranny. Prof Soludo should refrain from these excesses and restrain his boys to the tenets of democracy where human is treated with dignity.

Obi of Onitsha quits as chairman of Unilever Nigeria Plc


The Board of Directors of Unilever Nigeria Plc has announced the resignation of His Royal Majesty, Nnaemeka A. Achebe, the Obi of Onitsha, as a non-Executive Director and Chairman of the Board.


The resignation according to the company’s notice to the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) will take effect from 31st December 2023.

The statement signed by Mrs Afolasade Olowe, Senior Counsel, and Company Secretary reads:

“This is to notify the Nigerian Exchange Limited and investing public that the Board of Directors of Unilever Nigeria Plc has considered and approved the resignation of His Royal Majesty, Nnaemeka A. Achebe, CFR, mni, Obi of Onitsha, as a non-Executive Director and Chairman of the Board with effect from 31st December 2023.

“The Board of Directors wishes His Royal Majesty all the very best in his retirement and would like to express their sincere gratitude to him for his leadership and the many valuable contributions he brought to the Board over the past two decades since his appointment in March 2003.

President Tinubu Gives Appointment To Former Anambra Commissioner.


President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reappointed Dr Chioma Ejikeme as the executive secretary of the Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) for another four-year term in office.
Dr Ejikeme’s reappointment took effect from Tuesday, October 10, 2023, according to a tweet on the verified X account of the pension agency on Thursday.
Recall that Ejikeme had handed over the management of PTAD to the director, civil service pension department of the Directorate, Mr. Sulayman Shelleng, in September, at the expiration of her first term in office. She was first appointed into the position by former President Muhammadu Buhari in 2019.

Born On the 31st Of August 1958, Dr Chioma Ejikeme started her Primary School education at the All Saints School, Enugu in 1964. She attended Queens School, Enugu from 1971-1975 for her Secondary Education. In 1976, Dr Ejikeme was admitted into the University of Nigeria, Nsukka where she obtained a Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery (MB.BS) degree in 1982. She holds a Masters in Public Administration (MPA) degree from the University of Lagos 2002.
Over her 36-year career, Dr Ejikeme has been a Medical Practitioner an Administrator and an Entrepreneur. Her career started as a House Officer at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi-Araba in 1983. She served the mandatory National Youth Service with the Ministry of Defence (Nigerian Airforce Medical Services Onikan Lagos) and was retained after NYSC where she rose from Senior Medical Officer II to Principal Medical Officer II (GL 15) until the year 2004.
As a Medical officer in the Nigerian Airforce Medical Services for close to 20years, she was part of a team that, coordinated, improved and facilitated Health care delivery services within the Nigerian Airforce Medical space.
In 1997,Dr Ejikeme took a leave of Absence from the Ministry of Defence to take up appointment as Commissioner for Health in Anambra State. Dr Ejikeme was part of the team that handed over to the current Political dispensation in 1999.

Some of her achievements as Commissioner for Health Anambra State include the establishment of a Central Drug Revolving Fund for the State Ministry of Health, the establishment of a Traditional Medicine Board in the State which was the first to be established in the history of Anambra State. She also re-organized the existing revenue collection procedure in the State to ensure an effective and affordable health care delivery system. She embarked on the infrastructural rehabilitation of State-owned hospitals with refurbishment of wards, provision of bore holes etc. She made sure a state-of-the-art modern Dental Clinic with modern Dental Chairs and Dental X-ray equipment was provided at the General Hospital Onitsha and rehabilitated Primary Health Centers across Anambra State with the construction of a brand-new Primary Health Center in Nkpor Uno, Idemili Local Government Area. 
Dr Ejikeme while Commissioner for Health was also a Two-Term Chairman of the Anambra State Tenders Board during her tenure.
After her tenure as Commissioner for Heath Dr Ejikeme returned to the Ministry of Defence in June of 1999 from where she voluntarily retired from the Civil Service in 2004.
Since retirement, she has availed herself of update courses, attending courses at the then Lagos Business School (LBS) in Manufacturing Management, Accounting for Non-Accountants and the Stanford Seed Transformation Programme for West Africa in Ghana amongst many other update courses.
She is a Life Member of the Enterprise Development Centre (EDC) of the Pan Atlantic University (Former Lagos Business School), A Member of the National Association of Small-Scale Industrialists (NASSI) Lagos Chapter, Member Lagos State Chamber Of Commerce & Industry and Member Stanford Seed Transformation Network West Africa.
She is also a Member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and a co-opted member of the Anambra State 2019 Presidential Campaign Team.    
Until her appointment as Executive Secretary of the Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, on 20th of August, 2019, Dr Ejikeme had been running a Medium-scale manufacturing company, Karen-Happuck Nigeria Limited that has been in operation for 15years. As the founder and Chief Executive of the company, she has successfully built strong brands and been a mentor to up and coming entrepreneurs. For 15years. Body Of the Late Supreme Court Justice Centus Chima Nweze Arrives Enugu For valedictory Court session

The body of the late Centus Nweze, a former justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, has arrived in Enugu for a valedictory court session in his honour. Nweze died in July,2023.

The valedictory court session held at the High Court Complex, Enugu and was attended by members of the Bar and Bench.

Nweze, who was born on 25th September, 1958 was appointed as a justice of the Supreme Court on the 29th of October, 2014. He served in the apex court for almost a decade, until his death.

During his time on the bench, Nweze was known for his erudite judgments and contributions to the development of jurisprudence in Nigeria. He was also a prominent advocate for the promotion of human rights and access to justice.

The valedictory court session is seen as an opportunity to honour the late justice for his contributions to the legal profession and the justice system in Nigeria.

War In Anambra as Soludo's Aide Adichie, Hits Hard on Obiora Okonkwo, United Nigeria Airline Boss


I grew up knowing Obiora Okonkwo as a man of every election in Anambra state. He has come to be addressed as a serial contender and a serial election sore loser, contesting everything that is contestable and losing woefully all the time has been his hallmark, losing even to the weakest Co-contestants such as Valentine Ozigbo in the last PDP primary election before jumping into ZLP in the last election thereby finishing 36 out of 36.



Wearing the toga of a serial election contender and a sore loser, and becoming an emergent TV analyst, Obiora Okonkwo hails from Ogidi, an election season philanthropist. It is shameful that having contested a series of senatorial and gubernatorial elections and spent a huge amount of money, he has not deemed it fit to construct a road that leads to his house or his father’s house nor even have a toilet built-in his name in his community.



Obiora Okonkwo is considered miserable in Anambra politics and has never achieved anything politically because of his inconsistencies and lack of vision. He has no followers to deliver him and has no clout to deliver anyone politically, even in his ward where he has continued to fail woefully. He should be reminded that his 2025 gubernatorial ambition which he has kick-started with his “Media Aide” -Uloka leading a very weak and cheap fake news on state institutions is a pipe dream.



For now, Ndi Anambra deserves their peace and the normalcy that Soludo’s administration has restored to all parts of the state, including the sanity he has brought on our roads and markers, free and qualitative education in all the public schools, free antenatal and free delivery in all the government hospitals, the over 350 km of roads currently ongoing across the state, security of life and property, prudence and open and e-governance, and among others. Ndi Anambra doesn't deserve doesn't deserve this madness from Obiora Okonkwo’s pipe dream ambition, he should totally be ignored by concerned citizens.

Kenneth Ifekudu OFR, an Abuja-based business mogul and CEO of Diamond Leeds Ltd, has applauded Anambra state Governor Prof Chukwuma Soludo's Think Home philosophy. The philosophy encourages Anambrarians to invest their resources in their homeland to foster development and curb crime by creating job opportunities.

Ifekudu in a video broadcast equally urged the youth to stay calm in the face of adversity, emphasizing that development cannot be achieved in an atmosphere of chaos, disorderliness and rancor. The philanthropist also called on well meaning Anambrarians to assist the governor in developing the state and achieving its full potential.

As a practical demonstration of his commitment and support, Ifekudu has in many ways brought tangible development to his community of Ozubulu. He has built roads, erected state-of-the-art structures, installed street lights, empowered the youth and provided many scholarship opportunities to students.

In December this year, Ifekudu will commission a 3-kilometer road project in his community of Ozubulu that will be commissioned by Governor Soludo. The over 3000 drivers in the employ of Peace Mass Transit (PMT) have been receiving refresher training on safe driving at the Emene, Enugu, headquarters of the company.


The training, which has been ongoing since the onset of "Ember Months," takes the drivers through conventional safety drills and basic customer relations expectations.

PMT safety and customer service departments regularly oversee these rehearsals, which are designed to keep drivers properly grounded in matters of safety and customer handling.


The general manager of Peace mass transit, Ifeanyi Enete, has been impressing it on the drivers to make use of the opportunity of the refresher to update themselves with the rudiments of defensive and safe driving.

"Sometimes, doing the same thing regularly can make you take things for granted," he explained. "This exercise is meant to test them afresh and remind them of their obligations to our passengers and other road users, particularly during this busy period when there are more vehicles on the highway, many driven by amateurs."

"We keep doing this regularly because that is the only way to go," Enete pledged.
