Christianity Etc › Re: Godly Lady In America: Is There Hope For Me? by Anas09: 9:24pm On May 16, 2018
naijapatriot:
To cut the long story short...I decided to post this on the religious section so I can get godly (Christian) advice :
I am currently studying in the states and am looking to be involved in a relationship that would lead to marriage, but it seems I have not had luck so far in my search. Sometimes I just wonder if my taste in women is too high. Maybe I should say a little bit about myself:

With all sense of modesty I am a handsome, intelligent and godly gentleman, with a clear focus and commitment towards my goals. If there is something that I take very seriously it is my faith. While I will not classify my self as being ultra-conservative like people who grew up in holiness denominations, I do hold some pretty conservative views about Christianity for example smoking, drinking, clubbing and indecency is a no-no for me. I cannot even stand materialism.

While I am not by this means out-rightly condemning those who part-take in such, it is just not in my character and I cannot stand it in a woman who I will call my wife and the mother of my children especially if they will be raised here. As much as I believe in the spiritual, I am quite attracted to beauty. I would want a woman who can make me want to come home every minute of the day (a good height of say above 5ft 3 and slim trim is a plus too, as I am about 6ft 1). However, if there is something that has been most challenging to me it is finding that godly woman who fits these descriptions.

Since my arrival here, I have been privileged to live in black and white dominated communities, I must admit that nothing makes me freer than being with my own Nigerian people. While I do have The joy of just having some white and black female American friends, my ultimate preference is a Nigerian. I want someone who has some cultural commonality with me, someone I can speak pidgin English with, and not have to think of the political correctness of my words when I interact with her. The society here is too emotional and I do not want a situation where little issues will just break up a relationship with good prospects.

I have met a couple of Nigerian ladies here but it's either I am not attracted to them, or I feel they are not committed to faith, or they are too incompatible to my personality. huh cry undecided ..If there is something in particular that I do not want it is a woman who has bought too much into this "American contemporary Christianity" and would not read their Bible to understand for themselves. I do not want a woman who regurgitates "pastor says" without studying for herself. I think at this point I may need to say I do not undermine pastors, I am just for people having a personal relationship with God's word or at least trying to. There are too many cliche doctrines ruining the faith of people today. Given, the current moral trend of this country, I cannot gamble with the spiritual life of my children especially given the racial, political and social dynamics of America today.

Let me quickly say that I am not a perfect man myself, I am still a work in progress but I just need someone who can believe in my vision and someone who will not mind an introvert like me. shocked shocked. I am ready to grow with that person as long as God's word is our compass. I am ready to be open with my dreams, fears, goals as long as I know she is the right one. As with every man, I desire respect but I want it to flow naturally. I do not do well asserting authority so I do not want to force it on anyone. I am also willing to learn, and have fun with the woman I call mine as long as it is within the ambit of what is pure.

My question now is: Can I find my kind of Nigerian Woman in this America or am I asking for too much

PS: I would want this to remain in the Religion Section and I would appreciate candid and decorous contributions. Please do not advise me to go to Nigeria for a wife grin cheesy cheesy cheesy.... I no ready for that one, as I no get person wey I keep for Naija.
The Steps of the rigbteous are ordered by the Lord. Ask him to order your steps to the right one. If miss it in marriage, you miss in all things.

Coming here with this is wrong, if you ask me. Satan takes pleasure in destroying godly everything, and you just thrust your marital destiny into the den of thieves.

Nairaland is a den of thieves if you know what i mean.

If i may ask, whats the significance of Jerusalem being rebuilt to other parts.of the world? Whats the significance of the prophecy? Of course such prediction will.come.from the bible which is mostly all about the jews. Its not surprising to see such a hopeful prophecy for a region in the jewish land.

I still fail to understand how this helps the case of the rest of the world. Why will the creator use it to send a message about his plan for the world to a Nigerian?

If i predict that Lagos will be better in future and after a hundred years it becomes better, will u take me serious? Is Lagos becoming better in 'god knows what date' a significant news to somone in parkistan?

Of course i am watching out for the coming of Jesus... unfortunately u still dont have a date which makes the expectations a tricky one... one can wait for eternity for Jesus and as long as he didnt give u a date, the wait will always be valid... thats the biggest scam in the history of mankind.
...Thus saith the LORD, Israel is my son, even my firstborn:
Exd 4:22.

You are married right? very soon you'd a son then you'd understand.

YHWH chose to do what He wants. He created everything for his pleasure and as he wish thats what will be.

He decided everything will be about Israel His first son, so shall it be

And, about Jesus coming, don't worry, if you were dead, you'd still resurrect to stand judgement before Him. This is what no one can escape from.

You don't get it Frank. What just happened is a fulfilment of what the Bible said will happen.

Jerusalem shall be rebuild. It is happening before our eyes.

First it was the gathering of the Lost Sheep of the house of Israel, now the restoring of Jerusalem.

Abdulgaffar22:
Many of the Christians reject the Qur’an out rightly (even before having an opportunity to read what is written inside it) because they have been programmed right from childhood with the belief that Jesus (peace be upon him) was the last prophet of God sent to the entire world to die for the sins of all mankind. But how true is this claim? Have we not really been fooled with the assumption that religious faith of our parents is always right? Is it not high time for us to wake up from our slumber and then seek the truth with all diligence and open-mindedness? Was Jesus actually sent to the entire world? If Jesus (pbuh) was actually the last prophet of God sent to the entire world, then why did he have to say: I WAS NOT SENT EXCEPT TO THE LOST SHEEP OF THE HOUSE OF ISRAEL (Matthew 15:24)? Now compare this Biblical verse with this Qur’anic verse; And We have not sent you (O Muhammad- pbuh) except as a giver of glad tidings and as a Warner to all mankind, but most men do not know (Qur’an 34:28). See how Bible categorically declared that Jesus (pbuh) was sent only to the Israelites and see how Qur’an declared that Muhammad (pbuh) was sent to all mankind! There is no any indication in that Biblical verse that Jesus (pbuh) would later have anything to do with the Non- Israelites. In fact, when Jesus (pbuh) was sending out his apostles for evangelical mission, he also warned them categorically to avoid preaching to the Gentiles i:e the Non-Israelites: THESE TWELVE JESUS SENT FORTH, AND COMMANDED THEM,SAYING, GO NOT INTO THE WAY OF THE GENTILES,AND INTO ANY CITY OF THE SAMARITANS ENTER YE NOT: BUT GO RATHER TO THE LOST SHEEP OF THE HOUSE OF ISRAEL (Matthew 10:5-6). This further corroborates the fact that Jesus was sent only to the Israelites. But many of the Christian scholars proclaimed that this command of not preaching to the Gentiles was later cancelled and replaced by new command of preaching to all the nations in Matthew 28:19, where Jesus was reported to have commanded the apostles to make disciples of all nations. Therefore, according to these Christian scholars, Jesus (pbuh) who was originally sent only to the Israelites later became the last prophet sent to the entire world. But should we really accept Matthew 28:19 as the actual word of Jesus (pbuh)? If the apostles were later instructed by Jesus to preach the gospel to all the nations of the world as spuriously stated in Matthew 28:19, then why did Peter have to tell some of the Gentiles (Cornelius and his households) that sent for him as follows; YOU ARE WELL AWARE THAT IT IS AGAINST OUR LAW FOR A JEW TO ASSOCIATE WITH OR VISIT A GENTILE. BUT GOD HAS SHOWN ME THAT I SHOULD NOT CALL ANYONE IMPURE OR UNCLEAN (Acts 10:28 NIV)? This very incident occurred many years after Jesus’ departure from this world. Was Peter, who happened to be a Jewish man, not aware of the Jesus’ new command of preaching to all the nations stated in Matthew 28:19? Then why did peter have to say it is unlawful for him to associate with or visit a Gentile i:e the Non-Israelite after Jesus departure? Has he forgotten such a very great and important command in Matthew 28:19? Very hard to believe! The fact that the other apostles also criticized peter and became astonished when they overheard that Peter later honored the invitation of those Gentiles ( Acts 11:1-18) prove further that Peter and other apostles were completely unaware of the Jesus’ new command of preaching to all the nations in Matthew 28:19; Not that they had all forgotten. How could all apostles have forgotten such a very great and important command from their master? Even when Peter was justifying his visitation to those gentiles, he only defended himself and convinced the other apostles by making reference to the vision he had before he received the message from those Gentiles (Acts 10:1-28, 11:4-18) instead of simply reminding the other apostles about the so-called new command in Matthew 28:19. After Jesus ascension to heaven, Jesus’ apostles understood the command of not preaching to the gentiles so well that even under intense persecution, they refused to leave Jerusalem (Acts 8:1). In fact, those disciples under the authority of the Jesus’ apostles who were forced to leave Jerusalem preached the gospel message to none except the Jews (Acts 11:19) and the Hellenists (Acts 11:20).Hellenists are the Greek- speaking Jews living in Greece. King James Version of the Bible called them Grecians (Acts 11:20 KJV) and New international version called them Greeks (Acts 11:20 NIV). But International standard version of the Bible reveal their true identity by calling them Hellenistic Jews (Acts 11:20 ISV). Ellicott and John-gill’s commentaries on this very verse (Acts 11:20) also confirm that these people were most likely to be Jews. You can Google search for parallel verses of Acts 11:20 on the internet to confirm all these facts. Moreover, if it was already in the divine plan ( i:e before Jesus came into the world) that the command of not preaching to the Gentiles in Matthew 10:5-6 would later be cancelled and replaced by the new command of preaching to all the nations in Matthew 28:19, then Jesus’ statement in Matthew 15:24 should have been; “IT IS NOT YET TIME FOR THE GENTILES” or something similar in meaning, rather than; “I WAS NOT SENT EXCEPT TO THE LOST SHEEP OF THE HOUSE OF ISRAEL”. All these facts are enough to prove that the new command of preaching to all the nations attributed to Jesus in Matthew 28:19 and other similar verses like it in other books of the New Testament are nothing but forgery.
Leave Christians alone and face your allah the devil.

I don't see the problem here though, the guy that stole once and a Hindu and Anne Frank are all heading to the same place where hopefulLandlord the chronic blasphemer is heading according to your religion

we seem to be agreeing though so what makes my condemnation any special than those other guys?
Thank you.
A sinner is a sinner except he/she repents. But there's plenty of Time for Anne Frank, whoever she is, to repent.

Listen, you misunderstand something. What takes someone to Hellfire is not the Act of Sin, it's the Nature of Sin.

AnneFrank committed sexual sin right? Hope you have had sex before right? Do you know how many Sins you commit before actually taking off your clothes to get into the act?

First, you Lust. Is Lust a sin? Yes it is. And Jesus says, 'He who looks at a woman and desires her in his heart, has done it already. He is as guilty as you who did the act.

Secondly, She Sinned against the Temple of God, Which should earn her destruction.

Thirdly, She Sinned against herself.

Do you know how you sin against yourself by having sex with a man/woman you are not married to?

Sex in the Spirit realm is a fusion of two souls into one. (For they two shall become one flesh). When this happens.
a). You have transgressed the law.
b), You have Yoked, Fused, Bonded, Melted yourself into someone whom you don't know his spiritual stance. If you are yoked, where he goes you go. What ever becomes of him, becomes of you.

BUT

Christ wishes that none shd perish but that all shd come to repentance.

He knows and understands our nature, that's why he provided Grace. The issue is not with sinning, the issue is, what you do after you'd sinned.

He knows we are used to the nature of Sin, but now, a new nature has been given to us and we can not automatically change overnight to become spotless saints. The Change will take place like a new born baby who learns to grow a baby and matures to a responsible adult. Growth is gradual. He knows and understand that. That is why He is at the Right Hand of the Father Interceding on our behalves.

He left us His blood, which is the cure for Sin, (Which is a disease of the Spirit). As we keep taking it by faith, the effect or scares of sin gets eroded gradually from us until we mature.

My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. [But] if any man sin, [Remember]we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
1 John:2:1

Who is an advocate and what does he do?

Jesus is my advocate, He pleads for Mercy for me. And, He knows that as a little Child is to its parents so am i to Him.

He knows that as a child i will keep messing myself up, pooing on myself, weeing and puking on myself until i become mature to know not to do that. He is always willing to clean me up, if only i'm willing to get up and say, 'I messed up again papa, pls have mercy'.

Today, Lust, obscenities are gone from me, desire for Sex is gone from me. That is not to say once in a while the thoughts doesn't arise, but when it does, the objection rises from my subconsciousness to push it out. It didn't begin today, i matured to this. I had fallen so many times. I fall in different ways. I get up with tears and remorse and the sincere hatred to what i did and i get restored all the time.

God is looking at the attitudes of our hearts, not our actions perse. Righteousness is not the absence of
Sin, but the Willingness to pls God.

The stupid and rebellious will mess themselves up, but blame the advocate for letting them mess up in the first place.

And, BTW, my name is written in the Book of Life.

My first post was asking you why you're presenting it as though there are different levels of condemnation based on the type of sin one commits against your imaginary friend.
Hope, pls answer me sincerely. How many times do i need to steal to become a thief?

How many times did Adam commit sin before he became a sinner?

Christianity Etc › Re: Difference Between Working For God And Working For Church by Anas09: 7:26pm On May 15, 2018
M0ron:
Brother you are confused.

1 Corinthians 9 Paul sets out elaborate argument on why it is actually ordained of God that ministers of the gospel be supported.

God never comes down from heaven to pay them; this comes from men, from the hearers of the gospel. Supposing a minister is not an Evangelist but a pastor meaning they have a fixed locale for sharing the word to a fixed congregation. Then support should be coming from that congregation.

If the church pays the minister a salary, why is that not the support envisaged by 1 Cor 9? Because it is regular? Remember the pay is there as long as the offerings can support it so it may be fixed but subject to availability. That makes it uncertain. Your regular pay on the other hand is fixed come rain or sunshine, and in fact you may sue your employer nfor withholding or not paying you on time etc.

So a minister on payroll is still working for God.

Working for God and working for church are not necessarily mutually exclusive. It's not like you can't have both at the same time and that's where you are getting it bad.

What I may add is, oft times working in church comes with some sacrifices especially where the pay may be less than what the market would normally pay.

I'm talking about peripheral or administrative or support duties in a church.

Let's say you are a plumber and you offer your services to your church for less than what you'd otherwise charge. In fact you did it free. I'd be inclined to classify your work as being work for God because you sacrificed the difference between what you charged the church and what you normally charge.

But if you did plumbing for the church at your normal rates then you are working for the church.

Cc Anas09
I couldn't have said it better.

A whole lot of confusion because people refuse to learn the ways (Principles) of the Kingdom.
