Elegantdiva:Just use your "church mind". Personally I review my Resume every fortnight even though I have a steady job. Changing style and presentation as necessary. But lately, I believe (in my opinion) that I have a very good format now Good luck! |
This is a great start for you. Please note that all CV must be tailored/customized for the role being applied for. Observation (My personal opinion) 1. Your personal information is too much. I believe all that you need in that section is Full name, Address, Phone number, and e-mail address. Things like marital status, LGA, Nationality come in if specifically asked or if they can play influencing role in your job application. e.g. if you know that the hiring manager is from your state. 2. Your font is great but spacing and paragraphing is too much 3. I will have re-frame your profile as follows: "I am an innovative, proactive and self-motivated young professional with excellent communication skill and capability for outstanding customer service delivery. A creative and articulate individual with great team spirit to develop solutions to work place challenges." 5. If you are applying for a teaching job, I don't think the profile above is the best. The profile fit more for an admin assistant/office assistance role 4. As someone suggested earlier, merge you education and qualification something like this: Madrid Secondary School, Benin City West Africa Senior School Certificate -2005 5. include location of your educational institution eg towns, states as necessary 6. Also include location of your previous work places, Address, Town, state etc 7. I am not an advocate of referees unless you know the recruiter knows the referee 8. you need to add some of your soft skills: Use of Computer, language proficiency etc 9. you might also want to add your interests/hobby All these should not be more than 2 pages Good luck |
This is really getting out of hand!!! Why will these dolts keep tarnishing the image of an average hard-working Igbo man and Nigerians in General? I think an "all-encompassing" national orientation needed to enlighten the masses on the perils of this drug peddling. This also goes to the Yoruba man that deals in drugs, Edo madam that is involved in Human trafficking and prostitution and the Northerner that recruits/fights for Boko Haram or Fulani herdman. No one is spared in all these!!!. We suffer for it everywhere we go with our Green passport: Embassy, Abroad, School and I wont be surprised if we suffer it in heaven (or hell) Do good for good to come your way!!! |
Street has finally taken over!!! May there be peace in our land (Amen) Do good for good to come your way!!! |
Congrats to them all But I dont understand the "storming" here. You can't compare this with Ooni's US trip. Anyways....19th century and 21st century no be same!!! |
talk4free:This project started during GEJ tenure but by Edo-State Govt. I agree with the latter part of your comment - Nigerians!!! |
Let me state for the umpteenth time, there is a lot of fallacy in this publication 1. Pix 1 is NIPP power plant that is up and running and it is situated next to Azura plant. Azura plant is just constructing its foundation 2. Azura plant did not start this year but in June 2013 when Julius Berger mobilized to that site and started soil tests, clearing and survey. They have not looked back or stopped ever since then. People that frequent Benin Bye-pass will always see JB logo just before that trailer park. That is the site 3. Azura plant is an Edo-State IPP project (Oshiomole) and not FG (GEJ) 4. With what I can see in those picture and what I saw there last week, that plant is not near completion. Infact that is just about 25% of construction of a power plant. Foundation is not completed, Gas turbines not erected, structural works not on site, commissioning etc. IMO, that plant will only be ready 3-4 quarter of 2017 so it is not near completion AT ALL!!! BTW I am a strong APC supporter! |
It is not safe using mobile phones in a potentially explosive environment. Where there is presence of gaseous fuel, fuel vapour etc. This is because our phones generate mini sparks when they are in operation which can ignite these fuels. It just like saying "no smoking" in a gas (petrol) station. Do good for good to come your way |
See how poor and wretched his people look and he still has the audacity to showcase it to the world. None of the children has a footwear. This shows how disconnected our African leaders are. Leader of yesterday, leaders of today and leaders of tomorrow. Is this not the same president that still uses "palasa" phone in this 2016? I weep for Africa. Celebrating mediocrity!!! hmmm!!! Good points. I am a culprit of the second one (sometimes). Op you might want to add wearing over sized (Long) belts that end in the middle of the yansh (waist) (Sometimes even pass) Best practice is that your belt, after buckling, should not have more than 2-3 holes Do you know that belts has sizes? "Dress belts should have a few inches of leather to the left of the buckle once it’s fastened. Enough to tuck under your first belt loop, or the loop on the belt if it has one, is a good rule of thumb. Err on the side of shortness if you need to, rather than wrapping a long tail of leather around your hip a second time. " Do good for good to come your way!!! |
Just thinking aloud!!! What has Brexit got to do with building construction? IMHO,Discussing Brexit and its associated issues is derailing the thread!!! It is too "political" for this thread. I maybe wrong. Do good for good to come your way |
Jobabori:Same thing on my mind. Which private sector exists in Ekiti? Market women, artisans and NURTW, RTEAN? I cry for my people Do good for good to come your way!!! |
I initially thought he is a sitting senator. How I wish these kidnappers unleash their "wrath" on our politicians so that they can better understand the plight of the populace on insecurity and poor state of the nation Do good for good to come your way!!! |

Good people of this thread, kindly advise on doors/frames. What the best practices pertaining to purchase and installation? What type of doors is good for what? Price estimates? Available types? Recommendations and "referrals" will be appreciated. In short I need "lecture" on doors for a project on tight budget. Thank you as usual. |
Is this not madness? I am scared...the Lord said he will visit the sin of the father on his third generation....this is not far from it!!! Do good for good to come your way |
One4me:Why the rant? Come and shut my mouth na!!! If you can read between the line, you will understand that my discuss is on ceiling boards popularly called "asbestos" in Nigeria and not the hazardous substance named Asbestos. |
temi4fash:Yes ....all distributors sell them. Check around your area for their distributors. |

Fibre (Reinforced) Cement Popularly known as "asbestos" Fibre cement is an abbreviation for Fibre Reinforced Cement (FRC), and fibre cement building materials were developed by James Hardie in the early 1980s, as a replacement for asbestos-based building products. Read on to find out more about this material or speak to builders in your local area about using it. What is Fibre Cement? Fibre cement is a composite material that is made up of sand, cement and cellulose fibres. Fibre cement cladding comes in various forms but it is most commonly seen in sheet form, and in horizontal boards. Imitation shingles are another form. It can be used to cover the exterior of a house and also as a substitute for timber fascias and barge boards in areas that are subject to high fire danger. As well as cladding, fibre cement is also commonly used as a tile underlay on decks and in bathrooms and also for eave linings. What is Available in Fibre Cement Fibre cement boards come between 2400-3000mm in length and 900-1200mm in width. The thickness of fibre cement ranges from 4.5-18mm. Lower density boards have a fibrous rough edge when cut, while the higher density boards have a cleaner, smoother edge when cut. Thermal resistance and sound transmission varies between the different types of fibre cement products but, generally speaking, they rate poorly in these two areas and separate insulation is highly recommended. However, the thicker and denser the fibre cement board, the better thermal and sound resistance it will have. |
temi4fash:It costs 1100 for 4ft x 4ft |
Juokorow:Thanks for your concern. This is why I was asking if anyone know the composition of Kalsiceil. I am still in the quest to know the constituents and all related info is welcomed. Thanks once agin for your concern. Do good to for good to come your way!!! |
lastpage:Thank you last page. What I asked for is composition of "kalsiceil" popularly called asbestos. Please note that I am a world class Mechanical Engineer (and I am not DIY but BIY) and part of my yearly EHS training includes Asbestos, Lead, mercury, fibers and other substance that we come across in our world wide sojourn called work. Even though I read through your link which is interesting but it does not give any info on constituents of (for example) "kalsiceil from Nigerite" which is my question. No need to be "somersaulting" fonts to answer a simple question. If you cannot answer it....please leave for others to answer and stop bogging me with cancer and asbestos when there is no proof of its presence in the material we are talking about (at least not until I see a document showing that). As I mentioned yesterday, Nobody is holy but level of our "unholiness" is different. "Aparo kan o ga ju'kan lo....". Asking is neither a crime nor weakness, it is a strength to know!!!! Do good for good to come your way!!! |
lastpage:Thanks you for the explanation. Although I am resolute on using it. All the same, what is the material composition of "asbestos" ceiling? Just want to widen my knowledge. Do good for good to come your way!!! |
lastpage:To the best of my knowledge, these ceiling material called "asbestos" does not contain asbestos. It is made of cement and other stuffs. The only concern I have with them is dust and that is when in production or broken in large quantity Please correct me if I am wrong Do good for good to come your way!!! |
All what I am reading on this thread in the last few days is a typical example of our problem as a nation The Nigerian society has gone so bad that abnormality has become a norm. Anybody that tries to speak against it or try to right the societal ills is called "names" and seen as insane. Every criminal is "commuted to the hands of God" when decisive actions are supposed to be melted on them to punish them for their wrong doings. Nobody is holy but the level of our "unholiness" is different. Do good for good to come your way!!! |
@mufutau55 thank you so much per your recommendation of Jony-Tech for Aluminium roofing sheet. Aside you, 2 installers separately confirmed them as a good manufacturer. Finally, my brother was there today and his measurement is within tolerance of the indicated thickness. Once again, thank you. |
EgunMogaji:@temi4fash I am going for the simple "asbestos". I am scared of PVC due to fatigue and fake products all over the place. The "asbestos" also accommodates my budget conveniently. Call me old-fashioned - you might be right, call me village man- not far from the truth. Good luck with your build!!!
|
KolaShangOne:@vicol @kolashangone @mufutau55 So I got the shocker of my life today. My Brother brought to my site today, a "trusted" supplier of aluminium roofing sheet with "samples of 0.55mm and 0.45mm". As part of my QA/QC or due diligence, I brought out caliper to measure. Guess what!!! 0.25mm and 0.35mm respectively!!! I was shocked!!! Please note that caliper is well calibrated. Anyways, I continue my search for a "good" sheet!!! |
KolaShangOne:Per standard, is the aluminium sheet thickness (0.55mm or 0.45mm) before or after painting/baking? Thank you for your effort and support @kolashangone |
vicol:Answering your last sentence, I guess it is because of the paint. Normally painting activity adds 150-200 microns to thickness when wet but "shrinks" to 100 micron when dry. 100micron is 0.1mm Do good for good to come your way!!! |
mufutau55:Thanks @Mufutau55. I found this. Do good for good to come your way! |
