The information was provided by Sani Usman, the spokesperson of the defence headquarters.
Soldiers reportedly
managed to locate the bomb-making factory
with the help intelligence reports.

An unspecified number of of Boko Haram militants were killed during the clearance
operation.
Besides army recovered
basic bomb compoents,
includinh gas cylinders,
primers, gun powder, electric wires and tape
recorders, amongst other items.

“It will recalled that despite their defeat, the terrorists continued to attack innocent citizens, military and soft targets through vehicular and human borne Improvised Explosive Devices (IED).
Despite ongoing clearance of the remnants of the Boko Haram terrorists, they
persistently hid the IED
manufacturing factories location. However, that would be no more, thanks to
the efficient intelligence and resilience of our
troops.

It was based on this that we got credible and timely information that made troops to swoop on one of such factories in Ngala town and destroyed it and killed some of the Boko Haram terrorists.

It is heart-warming to
inform the public that troops in various parts of the theatre of operation Lafiya Dole are doing well and their
morale remain very high.”

Earlier this week there were a series of reports about the successful operations of Nigerian troops around the country.

Today, troops of 3 Battalion 22 Brigade, ha ve carried out a
successful pre-emptive strike to foil a planned
Boko Haram terrorists attack on the military
and civilians around Wunbi in Kala Balge Local
Government Area of Borno state.

In its bid to finally bring the terrorists’
insurgency to an end, troops of 7 Division strike group team B
attached to 22 Brigade, again embarked on
aggressive mobile fighting patrol in support of the ongoing
offensive operations in
Sambisa forest.

They also discovered a big pit where the
Boko Haram terrorists used for dumping bodies . Besides, six Boko Haram terrorists
kingpins have been arrested by the military
following an operation by troops of 3 Battalion, 22 Brigade .

The man, a British father has died alongside his two young sons in car crash in France.

His wife and another child were severely injured in the crash, which took place on A39 motorway at Savigny-en-Revermont, in the east of the country, south of Dijon.

Witnesses saw the driver lose control of the car shortly after 7am. It left the road, smashed through barriers, crossed an embankment, and then fell on to a slip road.

Early theories are that the driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel as no other vehicles were involved, and weather and road conditions were good, according to investigating sources.
An investigating officer at the scene of the crash said the enquiry was currently focusing on the driver losing control of the vehicle.

"We can perhaps imagine he fell asleep, or was distracted by
something," said the senior police commander.

Other rescue workers said the man had been trapped inside the wreckage when they arrived, but died within minutes of a heart attack.

Pictures later showed the burnt out wreckage of the vehicle, which was surrounded by debris, and almost unrecognisable as a family car.

Local police said ‘two out of three children
onboard’ – aged four and 10 – are thought to have ‘died instantly, alongside their father’, who was aged 31.

The children’s mother survived, alongside a three-year-old child, but
both had been rushed to an intensive car unit.

Both were airlifted to the Edouard Herriot hospital in Lyon, where a spokesman said they were ‘in a critical condition’.

A judicial enquiry into the tragedy has been
opened, and the early
theory is that the diver fell asleep at the wheel.

Two emergency helicopters were scrambled to the scene of the crash, which saw the A39 shut in both directions.

The family, who have not been identified, lived in Britain and were
thought to be on holiday in France.

A psychological unit was set up around the scene of the crash, to treat those who had witnessed the horror.

A graduate of Electrical Electronics from Kaduna Polytechnic, Kamilu Suleiman, who did his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in 2014, has decided to sell one of his kidneys to further his education.

The 32-year-old visually impaired man who explained the reason for his decision, said,
“Frustration is what brought the idea of my readiness to sell one of my kidneys just to get money to sponsor my
education. I really want to be useful to the society. I don’t want the effort of my parents to go in vein."

While explaining how he lost his sight, the indigene of Ilobu in Osun State, Suleiman was born and grew up in Kaduna State, stated that he was diagnosed with Glaucoma at the National Eye Centre Kaduna in 2009, but lost his sight completely in 2012 .

“I was supposed to graduate in 2012 but because of a carryover (C.O) I got in one subject, I went for my NYSC in year 2013 and
finished in year 2014.

“I was posted to Plateau State but requested for redeployment back to Kaduna due to my condition. After I became completely blind I decided to live with a friend to avoid
my parents seeing me in this condition because I don’t like
seeing them worried.”

Suleiman said his goal is to study courses and programs that will enable him maximise his present situation. “So I’m appealing to well meaning Nigerians to help me with a job or scholarship to further my education. I have applied to various media organizations seeking for job but I didn’t hear anything positive.

“My effort to look for somebody to sponsor my Masters program didn’t yield result. I just want to further my education so as to be useful to society and help others in my condition too. My parents don’t have the money and I don’t to be a burden on them,” he said.

He explained some of the steps he has taken to seek support from
influential Nigerians.

“I got a letter from Jama’atul Nasril Islam (JNI) to my governor, Rauf Aregbesola, in 2014.

Another letter to Chief Imam of Yorubaland,
Mustapha Ajibade, and to the Chief Imam of my home town seeking for assistance but I’m yet to hear from them.

“The letter to the governor I gave it to his personal Assistant, Alhaji Sikiru. I also spoke to Deputy Speaker House of Representatives who is from my home town, Lasun Sulaiman Yusuf, who also promised to help me but as I speak to you he has stopped picking my calls,” he said.

Suleiman said he had also sent a letter, through courier, to Shehu Sani, an activist who currently represents Kaduna Central in the Senate.

Buhari on political matters made the revelation in an interview with Leadership newspapers.
Senator Ojudu pointed out that his principal has put a stop to the
practice as such cash gifts are now diverted into productive services and the provision of
infrastructure.

In the words of Ojudu, “In the past, somebody would come to Aso Rock, a chief or a politician.

And they package
$100,000, $50,000 for him. The man gets
back to his hotel room, dashes his driver $500,
dashes his PA $1,000, his girl friend $200. This
has stopped.

Such money must go into productive
services, medical services, infrastructure
etc.

“Let’s do something that is enduring for
our people. All these stop gap measures, going as subsidies,
we’re going to stop them. Let’s make our
refineries work.

Don’t let us make millionaires of a few and poor people of
millions.

“These are the kinds of
problems we’re having now. In the process of
change, all these things are bound to happen. This is one year, but
again, this new government never envisaged things will be this difficult.

“When we were campaigning, oil was still $112 per barrel. Nobody could have
thought it would just crash and become $33 per barrel. We’re now
on $40 per barrel.

Nobody envisaged that
our foreign reserve could go
as low as $28 billion. We were importing food.
We were importing
medication, we were paying school fees of
millions of Nigerians abroad.

What the government is doing now is: let’s take subsidy away
from these individuals that are getting it.

Let’s take money off bringing in food, let’s grow what we’re going
to feed on. This is going to take some time; it’s
not something that is going be done overnight.
Nigerians will have to be
patient. I can understand.

People call me every day that, they can’t pay school fees, they

The Conference of
Nigeria Political Parties
(CNPP) has called on President Muhammadu
Buhari to relieve all former governors in his
cabinet of their duties
and appoint technocrats to run his change agenda if wants to succeed in attracting
foreign investment into
the country.

Ex-Governors in President Muhammadu
Buhari’s cabinet include
Babatunde Fashola, Rotimi Amaechi as well
as Kayode Fayemi.

CNPP gave the advice in
a statement issued in Abuja, which was signed by its Secretary
General, Chief Willy Ezugwu.

According to the CNPP, unless the former governors serving in his
cabinet were removed,
the image of the regime will remain tainted with corruption, his anti graft war not withstanding.

CNPP recalled that some of the former state executives left their states with empty treasury, leading to the bailout loan by the Buhari administration just to enable them pay salary arrears of their workforce.

“For President Muhammadu Bujhari to
succeed in his change
agenda, all former governors in his cabinet
must be sacked to create room for technocrats to run his
government if he must
succeed.

“Some former governors serving in
this government not only left their respective states with
empty treasury but also in heavy debts such that it took Mr President’s bailout fund
for salary arrears of state workers to be paid.


“The states were so indebted that fillers from the state indicate
that the bailout fund was not enough to clear salary arrears in some states.

“It is imperative that Mr President relieves the former governors of their positions and
appoint technocrats to
give the administration
a fresh face as their
presence in the government has left it
tainted with corruption.”

The statement also reminded President Buhari that foreign investors he was labouring to attract will
not come as most of
them had the records
of some of the former
governors that ran their
states aground.

“It will amount to effort in futility for the
President to be labouring to attract
investors as they will
not entrust their hard-
earned resources to well known bad managers.

“This is the reason the Buhari government will
be one year next month, yet the regime
has nothing to show for it except hardship and more hardship across the country despite the change mantra”, the statement read.

"Some of you who've been following me for a while, know of my struggles with my weight, (been trying to gain weight for about 10 years) I would go to the gym but I was doing the wrong things. So I finally got smart, I
started yoga and I also hired a personal trainer, who's been a tremendous help. I stay away from cardio in general, and focus on weights, squats, lunges, planks etc to build muscle. Also, he
changed my entire eating habits, so lots
of carbs and a side of protein with EVERY meal, I've also been ordered to eat until I'm stupidly full!

Less alcohol, Lots of peanut butter/peanut butter smoothies, avocado, assorted nuts, NO junk food, and LOTS of burgers. I know to some people it looks crazy, but there are tons of people in my predicament
(Ectomorphs) , and because majority of people in the world are trying to lose weight, it makes people like me feel like second class
citizens especially when researching on the Internet or at the gym training, because most
fitness information is geared towards fat loss.

Long story short, it's been a tough journey (losing or putting on weight is TOUGH) but I love a challenge and to be honest I'm falling in love with the results of so much hard work. My
body is transforming into what I want it to look like and that's sexy AF to know that I'm in
control of how I want my body to look like."

A 35-year-old tailor, Badmos Olajuwon, is currently cooling his heels in the cells of the
Lagos State Police Command, for allegedly
raping an eight-year-old
girl in the Somolu area of the state.

Olajuwon, who is a married man with two wives, is said to live next door to the victim's grand parents on Adedoyin Street, and allegedly raped the girl
inside her grandma’s bedroom.

It was gathered that the suspect sneaked into the woman's room at about 10pm on the night of the incident, covered her mouth and raped her two times. After he was done, he
threatened to kill her if she ever divulged what he had done to her to anyone.

It was only when the girl went to spend the holidays with her parents in Abeokuta,
Ogun State, that one
of her aunts observed some swellings in her

The girl then opened up to her parents that it was Olajuwon who raped her, and the matter was reported to the police at the Onipanu Police Division.

A Child Protection Network worker, Toyin Okanlawon, said the girl also had discharges after the intercourse and was being treated at the Somolu General
Hospital.

“The suspect has
two wives. He stays next door to the girl and her grandmother.
On the night of the
incident, the suspect sneaked into the room and slept with her twice, while her grandma and others
went for a party in
the neighborhood.

Nobody in the house
knew anything. It
was not until the girl
went to spend holidays with her parents in Abeokuta that her aunt
observed some changes in the girl’s
private parts, and she raised the alarm.

The suspect is in custody and the parents of the victim are already making statements at the station. The girl said Olajuwon used clothes to cover her mouth before raping her.

The police have
referred the victim to the Somolu General Hospital for treatment. Sodiq, the elder brother of the victim, told us that he saw Olajuwon
coming out of their room on that day, but he did not know he had raped his sister.”

The matter has been transferred to the State Department of Criminal Investigation, Yaba, for further
investigation.

Not much relief has
come the way of Nigerians, government’s efforts at tackling the lingering fuel scarcity
notwithstanding.

Premium Motor Spirit still sells at between N150 and N300 per litre in some parts of the
country Despite promises that it would soon be over, the fuel
scarcity problem persists to the extent that even government
officials are beginning to wonder why.

But gloomy as the
domestic outlook may seem, the latest trend in the international crude oil market may
spell a positive outlook for Nigeria in the 2016 fiscal year, as the crude
oil prices rose to $44.38 per barrel yesterday.

In the North-Central and South-West, petrol sells at between N150
and N360 at petrol
stations, a survey by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) has shown.

North-Central comprises Jos, Nasarawa, Niger,
Kogi and Benue, while South-West is made up of Ibadan, Ogun,
Osun, Ondo and Kwara.

Correspondents of NAN monitoring the situation report that long queues of vehicles were noticed at most of
the stations despite the high cost of the
product.

NAN reports that in
Jos, motorists in their hundreds now sleep over in their cars at NNPC Mega stations because other stations
dispensed the product between N280 and N330 .
With car owners
getting desperate, the managements of some stations had introduced
tallies to reduce the chaos at the stations.

In Niger, motorists buy a litre at N200.
A trader, Alhaji Abdulahi Tella, told NAN that

“we buy a litre for N200, this is becoming
normal and we do not see much wrong with that any longer.’’

NAN reports that
Gov. Abubakar Bello
on Monday visited some stations and NNPC mega stations where he advised against
hoarding and sharp practices.

Alhaji Abdulahi Isa,
Controller of DPR in
Niger, blamed the shortage on the low supply of the commodity.“Niger
is supposed to get
30 trucks per day
but we get only two on the average,’’ he said.

The situation is the
same in Kogi, where a litre is being sold for
between N200 and
N260 in most filling
stations in Lokoja.

In the South-East comprising Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi,
Enugu, and Imo, petrol sells for between N200 and N280 per litre at
many petrol stations.

In Ebonyi, the product is sold for between N250 and N280 per litre at
stations owned by the independent marketers in the state, while in
Enugu State, though there has been an increase in the volume of supply in the
metropolis, the product is still sold for between N200 and N220 per litre.

Correspondents, who monitored the situation in Abakaliki, report
that long queues were seen at stations that have the product.

In Imo and Anambra, petrol sells for between
N200 and N220 per litre.

Meanwhile, the NNPC Mega Stations in Owerri
have been under lock and key for the past two weeks. The
Manager of an NNPC Mega Station along Owerri-Onitsha Road, Mr. Bob Onyejiuwa, told
NAN that the station had never sold the product above the official price.

He expressed optimism that the product would soon be available to the
station, adding that it would help to ease the stress people were
undergoing.

Although the Federal
Government did not
make provisions for the payment of subsidy in the budget, the new
template issued by Petroleum Product Pricing Agency (PPPRA), showed an open market price of about
N95.09, against the
N86 per litre official
pump price.

Khalid Al-barnawi,
mastermind of the August 26, 2011 bomb
attack on the United Nations building in Abuja
The Department of State Services (DSS) has announced the arrest of another top Boko Haram leader.

He is Bello Danhajiya, a
Fulani from Zamfara state and a strategic
supporter of Al-Barnawi, arrested earlier in the month.

Garba Abdulahi of the DSS said in a statement that first investigations
demonstrated that the suspect was operated on the commands
of his commander Al-Barnawi. He was involved in gun-running, cattle rustling and other
wicked criminal activities. So far, efforts are being made to conclude the
investigations and commence prosecution in line with the law.

The statement reads: “In another development, this service, worried by the
spate of impersonation of government officials and the increasing rate of defrauding of unsuspecting members of the public by some
unscrupulous elements,
launched detailed investigations aimed at
checking the situation.

“The service therefore wish to inform the public about the outcome of these successful operations which have led to the
apprehension of the following suspects: Aminu Ado (aka Yusha’u Muhammed
Yerima ADAM); David Ali Michika; Umar Hamza;
James Malu Akune; and
Kazeem Kayode Usman.

“Aminu ADO (aka Yusha’u Muhammed Yerima ADAM) Ado was
arrested on 24th March, 2016 at Keffi Nasarawa state.

He confessed to defrauding T.Y. Danjuma (Lt. Gen/Rtd) of N10m in 2015 and
wife of Akwa Ibom state governor of three
Hundred thousand naira in collaboration with
one Hajia Aisha, who
impersonated the wife of former Gombe state Governor Danjuma Goje. In addition, he
confessed to defrauding members of the public by claiming
to be the Chief Security Officer to the president.
Further investigation
revealed that Ado had the mobile phone numbers of all the Federal Executive Council (FEC) members,
some state governors, their wives and aides
as well as that of prominent Nigerians and
military/police officers.”

“David Ali Michika:
Subject is a 43-year old from Jimeta, Adamawa state but resides at
Ungogo LGA of Kano state. He once lived in
Riyad, Saudi Arabia for ten years as an illegal
immigrant until he was deported in 2008. He was arrested in Kano
for impersonating
the secretary to the government of the Federation.

Michika had called
several high-ranking
government officials soliciting for funds to
settle spiritualists
(Mallams) for prayers rendered for the success of the APC in the 2015 general
election and for peace in the nation.”

Al-Barnawi was
arrested by the DSS on April 1 in Lokoja, Kogi
state, while allegedly hiding under a false
cover. He is a founding member of the Boko
Haram sect and mastermind of the August 26, 2011 bomb
attack on the United Nations building in Abuja.

According to the
service, the suspect would soon be charged
to court to face
his charges after
investigations were completed.

It came as a shock to the Ghanaian movie industry when the
death of veteran actor,
Nii Odoi Mensah, was
announced.

According to Starfm Online, the former
President of the
Ghana Actors Guild reportedly underwent a
kidney transplant in China on Monday, April 11, but he suddenly passed away.

The transplant was said to have been made
possible through popular actress, Juliet Ibrahim, through her
foundation. Sadly,
the veteran could not come back to show
appreciation to those who supported him.

Speaking to KMJ
on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz, Ghanaian film
producer, Socrate Safo said Nii Odoi was living on dialysis in Ghana but went to China upon
hearing of a hospital which could treat him.

Before he went to China, he told me he had heard of a hospital
there which could treat him and they needed

In continuation of its fight against Boko Haram insurgency, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has successfully cleared another logistics base belonging to the dreaded terrorist group.

Airstrike on Kangarawa, Boko Haram’s logistic

On Sunday, April 10, troops of 155 task force battalion carried a clearance operation in Nimila village , where it rescued 14 people from the captivity of the insurgents and recovered weapons.

The Nigerian troops of 152 task force battalion in conjunction with troops of sector 1 of multinational
joint task force on Sunday, April 4, carried out clearance operation in suspected hideouts of Boko Haram terrorists.

The troops cleared terrorists in Madawaya, Jere, Kardile, Koujili, Ngenere and Maksamari, as well as Douse, Bembem, Zombulum and Taraji villages.

They killed 15 Boko Haram terrorists and
captured some weapons.

On March 29, Nigerian troops wiped out the
terrorists from their headquarters in Alagarno Forest in Borno state.

The army had a major breakthrough when it arrested the leader of the Ansaru Islamic Sect, Khalid Albarnawi , who is the second in command to the infamous Abubakar Shekau, the leader of Boko Haram.
