ITIL is Information Technology Infrastructure Library. It is essentially IT services management course that teaches you IT project/services best practices. You actually news to read more to understand.
But simply put, I will employ someone with ITIL/PMP to be the manager of a CCNP or ORACLE or JAVA or WEBMASTER certification.

That's what took me a long time to learn - u just heard that from me pro bono.

The PMP you did in your NYSC, I don't know what it was like. But I doubt that you paid $555 to write the certification exam. I don't know if it has increased now.

You can either do PMP/PRINCE2.

Let me just summarize everything. You may specialize in networking (CISCO/JUNIPER etc) or Database Administration ( Oracle) or Software Development ( Java/Python) or any other IT path, but you must have something that can make you a boss/ supervisor / manager.

And those are ITIL / PMP or PRINCE2 / CISA / CSS Blackbelt .

Is it suffice to say that an MBA could replace a PMP when it comes to management?

Any engineering graduate can be trained to be a Subsea Engineer by a good company like GE, FMC, etc. The basic job of a subsea engineer is to ensure the functionalities of the subsea Christmas trees, Hydraulic power units, ECS, Monitor the Umbilicals status to ensure there are no leaks subsea, carry out daily/weekly/monthly checks on several aspects of the subsea system; which include carrying out cleanliness/particle test of the hydraulic fluid to ensure it complies with the minimum requirements on NAS6 (for offshore) and a whole lot more. There is also the Software part which may require troubleshooting in case the SEMS or channels fail. These are just the minimum tasks; there is a whole lot more to it.

So one stays offshore permanently or shuttle between office and offshore, because the view that formed in my mind with this offshore thing is to experience it not at all times. Regimented life. Just like NYSC CAMP.

You sound like have been on ABO FPSO.. Anyway, you forgot to add that there are emergency drills performed on a routine basis (fire, toxic gases, Pirates, man-over board, etc). Also, people (especially first times) tend to develop sea sickness (nausea and vomiting).unfortunately for me, my shift made me miss, Xmas, new year, Easter, anniversaries last year.. But in all, when u see your pay slip, you somehow forget the pains...lol.,. Am a subsea engineer

Concerning the job, it's a career job i have always been longing for; IT Network Engineer. And it's a very big firm, I'll be managing over a 100 systems within the company and and about 50 in some other states.

As i stated before, i worked as an Intern in this same company(same department sef) for 10 months on minimum wage. All this while, there was a vacancy in that department for about 7 months now and i always being trying to apply. Eventually just a month ago, i gave up because everything look futile. That's when i got my MSc admission.


On the nut shell, everyone is telling me to take it, not just because of the salary, but because of the documented work experience it will gimme.

U could take up Cisco and or other certification courses related to networking instead. I hope that helps.

In addition, I plan to apply for a normal master(apart frm Erasmus Mundus) in uni of oviedo, infact I prefer d course contents in oviedo to dat of EMMC. What scholarship bodies sponsor Nigerians to Spain because all Ive seen is USA, Germany, France, Canada, UK etc.
Meanwhile I really prefer dis Uni of Oviedo to oda countries because of low cost and higher probability of admission. Thanks

Majority of UK schools don't require TOEFL. But most of them require IELTS however.
But there are some that require neither and are also good in electrical engineering like UCL, Manchester and Imperial. You should double-check to be sure though.
