Allen kee: Even JAMB that comducted a national exam released results in less than 1 week.
My guy cut Uniuyo some slack abegi. The exam just ended last week saturday which means we've not even waited up to one week. Let's just patient and hope for good results. Perhaps, if the results do not show up after 1 week, we can then demand them to upgrade.

Allen kee: Now that we are eagerly waiting for the outcome of our performances, can we go back to the issue of food? grin grin Please don't crucify me for bringing this up again, I no dey play with food ooo!
I also heard that hostels are not within the School! Where and how far are the hostels to the School and can someone kindly tell us why cooking is not allowed in hostels?
We need these info so as to know how to package ourselves.
I think living off campus will be the only alternative. As for me, living on campus sure pass gan o. Perhaps, after 1st or 2nd yr, I will consider off campus.

Allen kee: Went in and out of the exam hall with satisfaction in my performance. It was very interesting and above all, I met one of my secondary school Friends who is already a Student in UNIUYO.
He took me round the School, I must say that the School itself really impressed me. I never believed that I was gonna like the School.
UNIUYO really impressed me than UNIBEN that I went to last year.
Now concerning the riot.
My expectation was to see at least 75% destruction of infrastructure in the School according to the kind of news that circulated everywhere in Lagos during the riot but I did not see any destruction, maybe I did not walk all over the School.
Above all I like the School more than what I saw in UNIBEN last year.
You are highy welcome on board bro. God will surely see us all through. BTW, which course are you aspiring for?

Emmy9ite: What is all this am seeing here? you mean no one can give a comprehensive report of how the exams went? U guys need serious deliverance!
LWKMD! Deliverance ke deliverance ni! Abegi, wetin u wan make us yarn?
Anyways, I sat for electrical electronics engineering(EEE). In my hall, we were 110 candidates going for the same course, though EEE aspirants were up to 1000+ in total . We were all sitted around 11:00am, 2 persons per seat. After much time wasting, the exam finally got started around 12:00pm or thereabout.

As an engineering aspirant, I took 4 subjects which are English, Maths, Chemistry and Physics. The English comprised three parts, comprehension, antonyms/synonyms and lexis and structure. The comprehension was Jamb-like i.e the passage was lengthy. The questions were normal and I just did my best there. The next part was antonyms/synonys which I can easily regard as the simplest of them all. The questions on this part were a mere walk-over for me. The last part was lexis and structure. The questions from this part were normal and I did my best.

The next subject was Maths, though I ran passed it with my power bike simply because I was being circumpect of the 1hr given. So, I moved to Chemistry. I was pleased with the questions I saw there because almost all the questions were Jamb extracts. It didn't take me much time to finish it.

With Chemistry gone, I ran to Physics which was just on the same level as Chemistry. It was mostly made up of Jamb past questions. I was really impressed I studied my Jamb past questions very well. It didn't take me much time as well.

Thereafter, with some minutes left, I went back to Maths. Uniuyo really did their worse with the Maths questions they gave us. It wasn't further maths, it wasn't ordinary maths, it was just maths. Nobody was really smiling at the questions while solving. All the same, God was just my strength. I solved the much I could, and when it was time for submission, I did what I call "fill in all blank spaces"#smiling#.

Finally, the exam was a huge success. No problem encountered before and after exam and no one misbehaved in my hall. I left the hall satisfied and impressed with my performance. All thanks to the Almghty God. Hope for an excellent result.

Iker Casillas
The Spain captain is used to largely playing a spectator role, but here
he was more like a ball boy - picking the ball out of his own net. He
could and should have done better for both of Fred's goals.

zetdee: Capacity can be liken to the size of a fuel tank of a car and voltage to the pressure at the fuel injector. The bigger your fuel tank (capacity) the longer you engine will run, and the greater the fuel injector pressure (voltage) the more fuel goes to the engine, the faster your engine will run ( brighter bulb). Injecting more fuel into the engine ( increasing voltage ) will deplete your fuel faster but increase the speed of rotation ( brighter bulb ). Connecting batteries in parallel is like connecting fuel tanks therefore increasing your fuel tank volume ( capacity ), connecting your batteries in series is like connecting fuel injectors with separate fuel tanks to run one engine therefore using more fuel and increasing you engine speed ( brighter bulb). I hope my analogy was helpful.
Your explanation is very much understandable. Brilliant I must say. Please, what is the name of ur university and level?
EducationRe: Engineering Students Forum::We Design, We Build, We Construct... by ANDREW2EIC(m): 11:20pm On Jun 23, 2013
zetdee: Capacity is the amount of current available in a battery, the time the battery can provide current depends on its capacity (Amps Hour). A battery with a capacity of 50AH will provide power for double the time than one with 25AH for the same loud.
Here is a link that explains the difference between capacity and voltage and vice versa.

www.ehow.com/how-does_5711431_battery-voltage-relate-battery-capacity_.html
Going by the information I got from the link you posted, I can safely conclude that voltage has a direct relationship with capacity, i.e, the higher the voltage, the higher the capacity of a battery and vice versa.

Therefore, my question is, how can you use this criterion to differentiate parallel and series connections as you did?

zetdee: Serias connection will increase your voltage making you light bulb brighter, parallel connection will increase your capacity, therefore power will last longer. Parallel connection is most effecient.
I am kinda confused with this explanation. Please, what is the difference between voltage and capacity? Don't they work jointly? Before now, I thought that voltage provides the needed capacity grid for evacuation and transmission of generated power.
BTW, I am still an elect elect engineering aspirant.

phtemie: Lolz..@Andrew.Nice one..I get your point..

But,did u know that that tahiti team is made up of unprofessional players?

This year,Newzealand defeated them 10:0.Recently,Chile's under-20 team flogged them by 7:0..and the Nigeria national team couldn't beat them more than 6:1..Even conceded a goal!

5 of those players are brothers,the keeper is a driver,others are plumbers,office workers.e.t.c

And besides, those "patriotic" players will still receive match-bonuses.won't they?

poor result I tell ya!!
So true my guy. I totally agree with you that their performance was very poor to some extent. However, prior to the match I didn't know we were going to beat them with such a wide margin. But then again, during the match they kept getting clear-cut chances which they failed to convert to goals. Well, let's hope they will put up a good performance on Thursday.

Anyway, thanks for your classy reply.

That team is up to no good..na wash..

Is it a must to dribble the keeper before scoring?..bunch of useless players..

very poor performance..so poor..

Ideye,Ujah,Mba and Muse are he-goats that need to be scourged..
Useless players? He-goats? That's really uncalled for. Did the likes of Ideye, Musa, Mba and Ujah miss great chances? Off course, they did. However, that's not good enough to call them such names. For crying out loud, those guys weren't happy with the fact that they actually missed those chances. U can really do better than that. Some respect to the Super Eagles. Thanks for ur anticipated understanding.

EducationRe: JAMB Gets 7-days Ultimatum To Release Scripts For Remarking or face the court. by ANDREW2EIC(m): 9:21am On May 17, 2013
This persistent whining by jambites on nairaland is becoming pathetic and nauseating, however, it hurts me when i see some folks write that those that failed got what they deserved.

Actually, jamb victmised so many intelligent candidates(which i am one of them) for what they knew nothing about. Yes, they unjustly marked some people down.

My plight started with non release of results because of biometric verification which I strongly believe that I was not to blame, because our jamb supervisor asked us to write the examination with thumbprinting.

Well, thanks be to Almighty God because they finally released the results, though with disheartening scores.

For instance, I did corrections in Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics after the examination with reliable textbooks and my scores were as follow 45/50, 38/50, 35/50 respectively. But when the results came out, the case was never the same. According to Jamb, my scores in Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics were 57/100, 67/100 and 38/100 respectively. Total of 209 if English is included.

I felt cheated by Jamb, but have learnt to accept my fate. If I complain from now till world ends, nothing will change. One thing that makes me joyous is that I am convinced that I am better than what Jamb made me to look like.

Furthermore, I don't completely blame Jamb for my poor result. The blame is 50:50, yea I mean it. 50% goes to Jamb for the provision of malfuctioning biometric verifying machines and ineptitude to curtail leakage of exam questions while the other 50% goes to my fellow jambites who didn't prepare for the examination, but were desperate to pass at all cost. Their desperation which resulted in wide spread examination malpractices really jeopardised the results of the innocent jambites.

With my score and the statistics of those aspiring for electrical electronics engineering at Futo, I am aware that my chances are very slim even with a score of 300 in post utme because I know what Futo stands for when it comes to admission. But I am not a quitter. I have done my researches, and found out that there are other good federal universities with less number aspirants. So, change of institution is the solution which I am going to do today.

I implore my fellow victimised jambites to make best use of any scores Jamb gave to you, instead of whining and complaining on facebook, nairaland what have you. But if your score cannot take you to any of college of education, polytechnic, university, please take heart and try again next year. Better days are ahead. WINNERS NEVER QUIT.

Finally, endeavour to stop cursing Prof. Ojerinde Dibu. I really pity that man because he is on a very hot seat. If given the opportunity, i don't think any of us would do better than he is doing. Examination malpractice has become a national menace in this country which can only be eradicated or betterstill curtailed by SELF-REBRANDING.
My opinion.
