Being an older woman, and living in the U.S., I was appalled at the items on the list. What happened to home training; habits (bad and good) are learned at an early age. I saw myself in a few items listed--I do like my reality shows (lol). However, I cook, wash my own clothes, no guest would see my dirty undies littering the floor, clean my apartment--not the best housekeeper but okay. I brush and floss my teeth twice daily at least; I cannot sleep late even when out late the night before--I am an early riser. But, I have seen disgusting habits in men, too. I have been with clean men as well as dirty men. We (men and women both) need to do better. Thanks for a thought provoking article.

I was an ole skool slay queen. Now I am trying not to take care of anyone. It was hard enough caring for my demanding mother. Now, I don't know if I need a man. I give myself orgasm and I don't need a man financially.

I am 5'4", Allen was maybe 5". He had this mad crush on me--we would have long conversations, we went out on dates, he came to my house, he helped my mother and me with errands, but I did not like him as a boyfriend. It was his height, sorry, I said it. He had a black belt in karate, so I was sure he could protect me. Some women took advantage of his sweet, caring nature because of his height. Not me, the groin area is not the first thing I look at. In fact, it is hard to tell these days what the sizes are with the sagging pants, sweats, etc men are wearing--unless, of course, they are wearing tight pants--I will take a peek . First, I look for overall attractiveness and neatness in dress. Second, I look for some sign of intelligence. Third, kindness and politeness go a long way too.

Sister girl could have done much better. She traveled to Nigeria to marry, never mind, love is blind. He reminds of the brothers here with the cornrow style--she could have looked in her own neighborhood. I wish them a long marriage.

As long as they are slim and healthy, eating right, exercising, etc. I am crushing on a very slim guy in my building, but he has a great personality which I find very attractive.

My mom and grandmother told me that is what they had to do. They had a term for it: "Being on the rag", slang for having a menses. I never had to do that (use rags), thank goodness. I once saw my uncle use the end of a curtain to dig in his nose, ugh.

Always keep a towel or paper towel handy to wipe off equipment when done. I always do.

Please heed the advice of others--don't go raw. The relationship is only 3 weeks. Use condoms or find out if she is using protection such as the pill, etc. Don't let her get you caught up in STD or pregnancy. What's up with her anyway? She should be happy that you are taking the responsibility for safe sex. What does she want you to do, pull out? That method has a very high failure rate. Use your head (the one that has the brain in it). If she still balks at your insistence on condoms, move on.

Nigerian men want superwomen now? Those qualities are admirable, however, there could be some deficiencies in some areas. Be willing to lower standards or expectations to realistically find someone to love--or be willing to compromise in some areas. We, women, do it all the time. lol

Too funny, I have never use any type of vegetable for sex play. I buy big and little cucumbers all the time for my salads.

Just be glad to be rid of him. As many have commented, you could have gotten yourself in some legal trouble dealing with him. Years ago, I almost married a Nigerian who lived here in the US. I would not call him a yahoo boy because my experience happened way before 1994, lol. Anyways, he opened up accounts in my name without my permission and passed some bad checks. I did not press charges; I left him and had to pay off thousands of dollars in credit card debt. But scammers are worldwide; I meet one (American) on a dating website years ago, but that is another story. Your experience will be a memory, chin up, hang in there.

That is what happens when firearms get in the hands of a person who cannot control his rage--in my city, hundreds of people have lost their life to guns even children. The picture of this beautiful young woman continues to haunt me. Condolences to her family on their loss. As to the guy, he messed up his life forever. It must be a tragedy for his family as well. So sad.

It is all part of being in a long-term relationship, I guess, doing the following in front of your partner: picking boogers out of the nose, farting, leaving the bathroom door open when using and partner is home, taking a shower when your partner is using the toilet, seeing and smelling poo, spitting and blowing nose on the sidewalk, washing dirty drawers, ugh. So glad to be single now, lol.
