In this forum, if you are not Nigerian, if you dont become apologetic, you are on your own. Go through my earlier posts and I started out as naive as you sound. Most of the Naijas in this forum appear to come from the same mother. The rudeness is unbelievable. So, I have resorted to speaking my mind. They DO!!

Bawolomo: Its amazing how sensitive you (And some Nigerians) become when something of this nature is said about Nigeria. I'm certain you are a busy person but one day you should take 5 minutes of your time and go through my first few posts in Nairaland anf tell me how I am supposed to react towards the Naijas in this forum. This post alone is surrounded by connotations. I have nothing agains Naijas at all. I mean use your common sense my brother, would I be here.  I'm in about 4 forums and will go and leave as I please. Take no ofense

@Kobo: You are right. I guess it does make sense that they bring in experts to tranfer knowledge TO the country BUT, it does not apply in all fields.  In my field, we do not yet have all the equipment that is needed to carry out the research. It is somewhat costly and moreover, learning is not limited the classroom. When in a foreign area and surrounded by experts in your field, you start are forced to do things the 'SCIENTIFIC' way. You become independent and way too outspoken. You leadership skills are being groomed for the better. There are More opportunities when it comes to attending conferences, training sessions which takes place on a regular basis.

How does Nigeria do it? Do they bring in the experts or do they send their citizens abroad?

2 Looks like a logo on a washing powder box

1. Looks like a billboard Ad.

4. Looks like a badge on a military gear

3. I quite like that one because it looks professional and original.

Poster, do you have to keep to these colours. If not, try something a bit brighter and eye catching. These look so dull and miltary-like.

Nonetheless, I think ure talended though.

Foreign AffairsRe: Serious Labour Shortage In South Africa by Angelheart: 11:18am On Oct 03, 2008
Well what can I say, SA is alive with possibilities. Truth is, to address skills shortage issue, the government is spending money on scholarships to send the citizens abroad sothat they can acquire skills and THEN return back home impart them. Something that most of these African countries (INCLUDING NIGERIA) cannot do for their people. Yet they claim to have resources. Im in the world's best Uni here in the UK and my government is footing the bill. It was so embarrassing to learn that some west african students (Ghanian students) were threatened to be kicked out of the uni because their government could not pay. What a shame!! undecided. But at least they try. NIGERIANS cannot even send one STUDENT for a PhD to study here. SO much for being a'HEART'of Africa.

As for crime: What do you expect? With more than a million foreigners, most of which are illegal, crime will escelate. Like Mpele said, stop jumping fences to get into the countries because we are sick and tired of reading about how a lion attached some man at the kruger national park because they were trying to gain illegal entry to South Africa.

Nobody is angry here. Im just looking out for my fellow non-nigerian sisters. Surely you have seen how many posts have been made by by non-Nigerians who are experiencing MAJOR problems with Naija men. The best solution is to stay away anf keep to their own men and if they cannot, then I might as well devise the 'Dating Naija men commandments'. At least they cant back and complain that nobody warned them.

Why do you fail to acknowldge the points that were positive: I mean the manhood bit. Moreover, there were some points where I di say that 'Not Only Naija men, '. But then again, who cares, Keep concentrating of the negatives and suit yourselves. Like I said, its healthy to release some heat once in a while. It unblocks the pores! smiley

This topic is so interesting. The reason why Naija Boys like Southern African women is because most of the women are so independant. They don't nag for money from Mr boyfriend. They can afford good accomodation, drive decent cars etc. All they want is a man to love them. They don`t shout at their men like Naija ladies or demand money just because a guy has slept with them. I`m sorry, but Naija women are too loud,
TRUE!

CultureTips On Dating A Nigerian Man by Angelheart(op): 1:13pm On Oct 01, 2008
When dealing with Nigerian men, remember these tips girls:

# Don’t marry any man unless you have known him for at least four years, Nigerian or not.

# Use a condom even after your first test. Window periods, black people!

# Don’t marry him if you don’t like pepper.

# If you think the pidgin English is bad for the kids, make him stop at once. I mean, really, is this Lagos?

# The whole big penis thing is always relative, but ladies, it’s true – so arm yourselves.

# Like any other man, if you don’t feel like cooking like you own a catering business, don’t. Whenever you see women in colourful layers of cloth and hats like peacocks, run.

# Relatives must never be accepted for long and the first night should always be in a hotel.
What’s next? All the men you know will be in dresses and matching curtain trousers and all you can say is “Oga”.

# Limit him to a few friends. Gay or not, men love having other cocks around. With girls it’s probably just three. But with dudes it’s like sometimes six. What’s up boys? Off to a strip joint or you going to turn each other on?

# If you can avoid it, never let him drive. Please go to Lagos.

# Always stay true to yourself and never let him commit you to some cause you know nothing about. Men will deceive you to get the honey-pot, whether they are from Lagos or Durban(SA).

# If you don’t like slimy food, run.

@Poster:

When being in love means being in pain, then you are loving TOO much. When you find yourself having conversations with friends or strangers (Nairalanders) about him, his problems and nearly all your sentences start with 'he', you are loving way too much. When you are excusing his behavior and tolarate his selfishness, that is loving too much. Mosty, when the relationship jeopardizes your emotional well being, you are most defenately loving too much. I think you have become too obsessed with this loser that you are barely ableto function, hence you googled 'Nigerian men and marriages' which led you to Nairaland.

This man has made it clear that he wants you no more. Dont be afraid to de-aggregate from this unhealthy relationship.  Stop loving too much because, he will not change.

Questions:

Do you come from a dysfunctional family (Single parenthood, parents displayed no affection, etc)?
Are you terrified to be without a man?
Do you find yourself having to go an extra mile to please him?

I had the opportunity to attend the ceremony 2 years ago. Prior to the event, I was as naive and as ignorant as most posters are, regarding this. I though it was shallow and 'barbaric' for parents to sell off their children's innocence to this greedy man King Mswati.

On my arrival, to say I was 'SHOCKED', is an understatement. There is NO middle class in Swaziland. People who are actually leading a comfortable life are thosewith ties to the monarchy. If you are not, you surely are living below the poverty line. Thus, parents encourage their daughters to try their luck.

Black south africans have been so intimidated by their white masters to the point that they've started behaving like MUMU,all they do is drink essessive achohol, play loud music, even at the dead of the night and sell illusive diamond to unsuspecting victims.
They are not that enterprising and independently minded enough to go places like china for business. In the case of chinese people, they are just crudely developed, technology does not make people civilized, going there is at one's own risk, unfortunately.
Ok. Keep amusing yourself. Keepgoing to China and have urselves killed.Keepcoming toSOuth Africa and get your arses roasted like suya.

Mpele:
Its sad, but hey what was the Nigerian businessman doing in China. Haven't he had about what is called the Chinese triads. The next minute you'll here that a Nigerian businessman was killed in Afghanistan or Bangladesh.
I ask myself why is that West Africans are the ones who are killed all over the world e.g Africans killed in Italy, Senegalese killed in Spain, Nigerian killed in China.
There must be something that our West African brothers do in foreign countries that always get them into foreign jails or be killed. You'll never hear stories of South Africans or Black Americans being killed in foreign countries
Mpele, at times you are not my fav person but I must commend you for putting some arrogant idiots exactly where they belong. DOWN there! You are right about your observation anyway.

Personal Attachs: I was just retaliating. In essence, you called me ugly, You called me a savage as well. If you continue, so shall I.  There is a lot that I can say about coloureds and you do know that they have their shotcomings too.

As for the rapes: The first ever reported infancy rape in SOuth Africa took place in 2001 in Upington (A predominatly coloured area). The Rapist was a coloured man called Dawid and he raped a 9 month old baby girl.

Robberies and Murders: I'm suprised you still make these statements if you claim you live in Eeerterust. A very rough neighbourhood. Coloureds are confused becuase they are nor cultured and have no belonging. Go to Polsmoor maximum prison, who is there?Coloureds. In some of your posts, you mentioned that you live in a predominatly white area. WHich one is that?

As for you loving blacks: Ive made my conclusion. You are not who you say you are.
