feelamong: SKYE BANK FINALLY AT 50K BUS STOP...
WHO IS NEXT? FIDELITY, STERLING OR DIAMOND? The funny thing about this banks when result is released they may move up but suspicion of skye is people who are eyeing takeover may want to intentionally drag it down there for a while. |

ExLaidback: I won't rule anything out cos in business world nothing is impossible. But their predicament is caused primarily by FX troubles and devaluation not foolish spending like Skye (they have some huge liabilities denominated in dollars but they can reduce their exposure by FX swaps) . So ordinarily I think they are more likely to recover faster than Skye even if they post loss now. Just my opinion though Diamond is as reckless as skye and they may go the way of skye at last. The good thing is skye has already declared loss but Diamond is still struggling with the situation but to get out of the wood they will also declare loss at a point. |

Godisfaithful: Sir, you asked a very serious question? I don't think so. The president is in charge of everything...Remember the case of DSS harassing and arresting the BDC Operators... Let's wait and see! Hypocrisy of Buhari might make him to allow full float of Naira because of Egyptian success. |

fxuser: - umm - its at a new 52-week low of 0.53kobo - so there is nothing to fear technically - but with 3 quarters missing , the oil loans , directors loans , devaluation from 280 to 305 yet to be reflected , irregular account concerning mainstreet buyout + d general bearish times - its a tough one boss You should consider sale of foreign assets might boost their balance sheets.I am just thinking apart from restructuring of their shares which is the main risk but not much risky buying a bank like that at 53k after all thing will get better.Oando is still going up and down, . |

fxuser: Skye bank . . um - posted N40.73 Billion Loss in 2015 FYE - Announcement was late July, ard 29th . SP closed at 70kobo - but rewind to July 01, Skye SP dropped from N1.05 to 58 kobo by July 15th - only to rebound from 58 kobo to 90 kobo in 6 days ( both movements clearly speculative) - since that flash rally, its been on d down trend. - asper results , not expecting it to be good at all (IMO) - the former chairman shud be jailed honestly Result may not be bad as the previously declared loss for 2015 because the new management may want to proof that they are on top of the game.At least Skye may be good for speculation. |

fxuser: IMO - index is still on a long term bearish trend - no need to be aggressive
NSE30 - look at the 5 year chart for say NSE 30 - index was at ard 900 in Jan 2011 - index sustained to bull run still July 2014 (making 3 tops Jun 2013, Jan 2014 & Jul 2014) hitting above 1,900 - index started a free fall after july 2014 breaking below prev pull back low - index found some support at 1,200 and a mini rally in Feb 2015 - Mar 2015 ... down trend continued - index hit another support Jan this year ard 1,000 mark (remember d Jan sell off) - another mini rally wh ended ard Jun (wh is actually a long term pull back depending on the time frame) ( remember the guy that kept shouting May , wh i felt Sell in June seemed more accurate) - anyways we are still on the long term down ward trend while the market is short term oversold - don't be in a hurry to average down or mop aggressively , buy small small like recharge card i guess. - i not a long term investor , let d 50dma and 200 dma guide you in d prevailing trend sir Can you recall how much SKYE was trading before the last result and how much higher it traded after the result?,and what do you think about expected result from SKYE as in when and expectation. |

locodemy: since you said 'news'.not from your mouth......i will pardon you........Any bank that operates as a national bank is not allowed to have many branches and they are restricted to operate in some capital cities....Example of national bank is jaiz bank.......my brother you can tell me that skye bank wants to do share reconstructions, close some branches, sell some of their assets, reduce workforce or raise capital but for going back to operate as a national bank is understatement. Thats regional bank but National bank can operate nationwide, example of national Bank is STANBIC. |
