truefact: Now the western world has started dictating who will be who... it's now clear why they wanted GEJ out
They say GEJ was CLUELESS but GEJ was never a PUPPET to the WEST thats why the WEST worked against him, using means like the "BRING BACK OUR GIRL CAMPAIGN" that has died a natural death..
xmich: Ahead of the May 29 handover of the Federal Government administration to Muhammadu Buhari following his victory at the March 28 polls, friendly countries have continued to show renewed interest in who occupies some key posts in the incoming administration.
Already US had expressed concern over series of issues including human rights abuses by the Nigerian military in its prosecution of the war in the North-east, and the manner top officials of the Nigerian government have managed the oil and gas sector of the economy citing several acts of corruption.
A source in the Foreign Ministry which pleaded anonymity said the US is now eager to assist Buhari turn the situation around, as it has always considered Nigeria an important ally on the African continent.
This was as Daily Sun learnt that several highly placed persons and multinational companies who attended a recent US State Department briefing cited corruption as the main reason for low investment in Nigeria’s oil sector. Against this background, a source said the US is backing a senior official of a multi- national oil company from the Niger Delta who is conversant with transparency rules to emerge as the Petroleum Minister.
The source said, “in fact, the multinationals have discussed with the US State Department and have already agreed on a credible candidate, who they believe will be able to restore confidence and attract the necessary investment into the critical sector. Meanwhile sources say the US has already made this position known to the incoming administration cautioning the president-elect against making a wrong choice in the appointment to the office.
It urged the President to appoint people of integrity and proven track record into his cabinet to make the job easier for him.
Already, top oil and gas industry operators have indicated their support for the candidate, who they believe will bring his vast experience to bear in the turnaround of the Ministry and give credibility to the sector and the Buhari’s “Change” mantra. In 2014, Transparency International ranked Nigeria as the 136th most corrupt country in the world.
In addition, a US report in March last year said that in Nigeria, “massive, widespread and pervasive corruption affected all levels of government and the security forces,” while alleging that judges were not left out of the massive corruption ring, the report accused the government of not implementing laws on corruption effectively, thus deliberately allowing “officials (to) frequently engage in corrupt practices with impunity.”
These are, possibly, part of what the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal, saw when he cried out that the current administration’s “body language” encouraged corruption. The US government had also condemned the pardon granted some ex- convicts by the National Council of States headed by President Goodluck Jonathan in 2013.
Recall that former Governor of Bayelsa State, Diepreiye Alamieyeseigha, the former head of the Bank of the North, Shettima Bulama and some other Nigerians were granted a presidential pardon. The US had roundly condemned the act, saying, “this decision undermines anti-corruption efforts in Nigeria and encourages impunity. If the government is serious about uprooting public corruption, sanctions against those who betray the public trust should be strengthened, not relaxed,” said Akere Muna, Vice-chair of Transparency International.
And now the US has sounded a note of caution to President-elect, Buhari, not to bow to pressure by allowing politicians foster any candidate for the Petroleum Ministry whose records are stained or for purpose of satisfying political patronage.
According to the US, it will send the wrong signal that business is going to continue as usual, in which case, the incoming president might not get the much needed assistance from the US or any European country for that matter.
Wao worst economy by being the largest economy and the fastest growing economy in Africa... You guys Said GEJ was CLUELESS atleast he turn Nigeria into the largest economy in Africa under 6 years.
Prof u wanted life in aso rock,it sure comes with lots of responsibilities and pressure so start the work no need looking for excuse for failure...
What sort of ridiculous policy is this. So now I have to get a strong room to keep my usd thats very funny.. how is this going to encourage foreign investment..
I think we have very foolish folks up there who dont even know what they should be doing...
contactmorak: A shameful occurrence transpired between Mavin star, Korede Bello and the students of the Nigerian Institute of Journalism, Ogba Lagos during the school’s 5th Annual Students’ week which kicked off yesterday Monday 18th May 2015 at the Institution’s premises.
Korede Bello who passed out from the institution last year and even performed at last year's event, was denied an opportunity perform this year by the students which prompted him go on his knee begging and apologizing over his offence.
According to the information Splendormag got, Korede Bello earlier granted an interview with some national newspapers which was published and he allegedly denied being an ex-student of the school claiming to have graduated from the University of Lagos (UNILAG).
Some students of the institution especially his classmates who could talk to him on social media challenged him for denying his alma mater, in reply, Korede we learnt insulted them.
The great NIJ began the one week programme with a musical concert yesterday and surprisingly, Korede Bello and his manager, Casper who the students described as an incompetent manager stormed the event uninvited.
At this juncture, the students were very excited because they believed it was their time to also disgrace him.
They booed him and denied him access to mount the stage to perform at the show which had Folashade crooner, Adekunle Gold, Shoki crooner Lil Kesh and many others in attendance.
The young Korede Bello couldn’t help but went on his kneels to apologize for his ignorance but the students rejected his apology. It took the intervention of the vice provost of the institution Mr. Jide Johnson and some other lecturers who held a close-door meeting with them before he was allowed on stage.
As if that was not enough, while he was dishing out his stuff, some of the aggrieved students interrupted his performance as they disconnected the speakers.
Many of them couldn’t pay attention to his performance.
If you must know, Korede Bello was a student of the institution when he was unpopular. He was signed to Mavin Records when he was in National Diploma 2 at NIJ.
He finished his course in Mass Communication last year.
Below is a youtube performance of his show last year at the event...

SurePresident: Good one. Haters gon' hate no matter what. Yorubas, globally doing what they best know how to. Yorubas lead, igbos are to forever follow us, we are pace-setters and pathfinders. Two very different kind of people; igbos are shallow minded myopic beings who believe life is only about money, they greedily cheat and kill even their own brothers, wives and sisters for the sake of money. While Yorubas are deep-thinkers, who believe that positively touching lives is the best noble reason for the lives we are living. Yet we have more Mega-Billionaires and Millionaires than those senseless igbos (whose sole aim in life is to cheat others to make money) because when you truly care for people money would naturally flow your way in Billions.

socialmediaman: 5 Most Notorious Government Agencies Siphoning Nigeria's Revenue
This article highlights some of the Organizations at the top list of siphoning most of the revenue which should be going into Government's purse, but rather diverted to private pockets. They're responsible for Nigeria's low IGR and Foreign revenue annually despite the huge amount of money coming from crude oil exports and Huge actual Internally Generated Revenue, most of which the Nigerian Government does not officially earn. If the Federal Government wants to boost its IGR and budget expectations, these are the organizations to go after:
1. NNPC (Their Oga kpata kpata): Records speak for itself, the NNPC doesn't even know the amount of crude it imports daily. There are possibly over 100 different means which the NNPC uses to siphon government revenue. From fraudulent subsidy payments to intentional delay of imported products to incur and accumulate demurrage with shopping companies. They're mostly responsible for the over $600 billion dollars alleged by the EFCC to have been stolen from Nigeria since 1999.
2. NPA: Working for the Nigeria Ports Authority can even be more rewarding than working for the NNPC. Thousands of illegal deals worth millions of Naira are settled under the table at the ports on a daily basis. Government ends up not recording most of these criminal deals. So many criminal waivers, unrecorded imports, direct cash settlements rather than legal payment channels, undercharges, auction sales etc.
3. Customs: customs officials attached to courier agencies target goods coming in from overseas. Once your package arrives, you'd be expecting the normal courier charge and taxes, then you hear the bad news; Nigeria customs is holding your package. They'll usually give you a fictitious extra bill, citing some flimsy reasons and stipulated policies and conditions which cannot be found anywhere on their website. Instead of allowing the goods get to your local courier office, they'll rather invite you to Lagos and that's when you get desperate because you don't want to travel all the way to Lagos to collect a package. So you decide to negotiate and pay. Mode of payment is usually their private accounts or other means which will not be eventually traced back to them, not government's purse. Sometimes also, their charges are genuine, but settled through private channels, So government gets little or nothing from the illegal transaction.
Their Illegal Operations with The Immigration Service at Nigeria's borders also ensure that Cars and other goods are imported into Nigeria illegally with taxes and charges that are never documented or paid into government's purse.
4. FIRS: this is another criminal organization in Nigeria. They target multinationals and big companies, and the richest among them work in Abuja, Lagos, Port Harcourt and other cities with numerous big companies. They help you evade tax in so many different ways (evading and avoiding tax are different things, one is criminal, the other is legal) and collect huge rewards for their excellent criminal manoevers. Hundreds of billions or possibly trillions therefore go unrecovered annually.
5. NIMASA: The Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency is a regulatory body saddled with various maritime related responsibilities including administration and regulation of shipping licenses, carrying out aerial and coastal surveillance, control and prevention of maritime pollution, providing maritime security. About 40% of Nigeria's income Is budgeted for this agency to develop maritime infrastructure and fund the operations of the Maritime Academy of Nigeria. NIMASA has been involved with various levels of fraud on many occasions running into Trillions of naira.
Other Agencies include the Nigeria Immigration Service, Federal Road Safety and The Nigeria Police Force.
You may add more and highlight. We want complete reforms so that we may recover our money and develop our infrastructure.
God Bless Nigeria.
