lolaxavier: President Muhammadu Buhari has reinforced his government’s commitment to fight corruption and to ensure offenders face the full wrath of the law.
In a Vanguard compilation of comments and thoughts of Buhari, 48 hours before his inauguration as the new Nigeria leader, he reiterated the top issues his administration will tackle after assuming office – security, unemployment, fighting corruption, infrastructure amongst others.
He said the Goodluck Jonathan administration has grounded the Nigerian system, as he acknowledged the challenges he must face to bring about the ‘change’ Nigerians are yearning for.
He said, “the biggest message is to try and persuade the people that it is not possible to change the state of affairs now. It took 16 years to get to that state of affairs. Nigeria earned more revenue during that period than what it earned from 1914 to 1999.
“We used to have Nigeria Airways, Nigerian National Shipping Line, Nigeria Railway. Where are they now? Where is the infrastructure that is commensurate with what we earned in-between, what is on ground? That is how efficiently the PDP managed Nigeria in the last 16 years."
Buhari assured that no stone will be left unturned in the fight against corruption, noting that not even immunity clause will aid the escape of anyone who is fingered and found guilty by the law.
He stated, “we will make sure that we get cooperation from the judiciary so that people who worked against the law are prosecuted, especially those who have lost their immunity, even those who think they have immunity because this is the best way to stabilize the system.
“People must not benefit from being lawless. You can’t be in a position by virtue of the Constitution, subvert the Constitution and continue to enjoy the privileges offered by the Constitution. I don’t think that will be acceptable by the APC.
“So, whether you are in the opposition or the government, you have to behave. I think that is the way we can make progress.”

lastpage: The same "self denial" that ruined Jonathan's Govt, is exactly what the title of this piece, represents!
How did he "ATTACK JONATHAN"? So, the man, as a RE-ELECTED Governor of his state, cannot voice his opinion again?
Everything he said up there are 101% CORRECT. *The day the Chibok girls were abducted, did Jonathan not ignore it and went about dancing Shoki at a campaign rally? *Did Jonathan not deny that the girls were abducted, up till a few months back? *Did Jonathan not lie to Nigerians, a day to the presidential election, that the girls have been recovered (The slowpoke even painted a Jet that he said would bring them down to Abuja! )
Jonathan is a colossal FAILURE and would forever remain one in the eyes of sensible people .... except his clueless clan, TANoids and flattys! We all know this but since Jonathan's people are not done with him until they push him right inside the Dustbin/Gutter of history (if he is not there sef), they would keep telling him he is the best thing after Meat Pie!
In just a matter of minutes, we have seen how a "true President" deals with issues of national Security, compared to how that Otuoke clown wearing military uniform was genuflecting all about (America will know!! ) Just imagine, within minutes of being sworn-in, he has taken charge and directed the Army to locate their CentCom to where the war is, not sit in Abuja eating pepper-soup while their rank-and-file Troops are being mowed down in Borno/maiduguri.
That is my "General"! A real General!!
May God never allow the likes of Jonathan to smell anything or anywhere near our presidential Seat. Good riddance to bad rubbish..... now we can breath "Real Fresh Air"
Lastpage!
BTW: If any of the Boko Boys that have not committed murder, is ready to confess, give useful information to the military and be ready to be rehabilitated (education & trade/work), there is no reason for Buhari not to take that option after-all, some of the Ijaw Militants like Asari Dokubo, Tompolo and hundreds of others have murdered innocent Nigerians and some of our troops in the past...... and were later granted amnesty? Why not these ones?
Source the Geese, source the Gander.
On the other hand, Buhari, unlike that clueless clown from otuoke, is "mentally and strategically capable" of finishing-off Boko Haram or any insurgency from any other part of the country.
Let us wait for the next hundred days and see the strides that Buhari would have taken. He has done it before, he can do it again...... and l dont want to hear any one "whining or complaining" because it will be harsh. Bros abi old man what are u saying. Mtcheew.... |

Dont tell me Idi Amin was a Field Marshall. I dont think he fought in WW1 or WW2... |

The formal student of Kwara State Polytechnic who joined the industry in 2008, has lots of movies to her credit, both the English and Yoruba genre. In a new interview with Vanguard, the Kwara state born actress who is based Malaysia talked about her acting career, her soon-to-be released movie, ‘Eko’, and how her body feature has helped in getting her roles. Read excerpts below:
What are you currently working on?
My movie ‘Eko’ which literally means ‘Lesson’. The film is an eye-opener for people who believe that without travelling abroad they cannot make it in this life. The film is planned to educate them that it’s not until you travel abroad before you make it, just focus on what you’re doing and you can make it anywhere.
Which has been your biggest movie so far?
It’s a movie called Ere; a Yoruba movie. There’s another one called Omo Malaysia. In fact , there are many of them I can’t remember right now
How has the journey in Nollywood been?
Stressful, I will say. For one, there is the issue of location logistics. At times they may lodge you in a hotel without adequate facilities. And because this is a profession you love, you have to manage whatever is thrown at you. Even feeding, at times on location, becomes a problem because adequate provisions are not made. It has not been easy, at all, but we have to stick to it because it is a profession we love.
My Boobs Have Helped My Acting Career - Bridget Amos
What has been your biggest challenge so far?
You know Jide Kosoko? There was a time I was supposed to play a role alongside him but he brought someone else instead. He said he wanted the person to play the role in my place. I felt very bad. Along the line he changed his mind and asked me to take the role but I had been so heartbroken that I couldn’t pick myself up again. I eventually lost the role.
How do you get into character when you see scripts?
Since you love it and you enjoy doing it, it’s very easy. If you love acting, once you’re given a role it would be easy for you to act it out.
Who is your biggest inspiration in acting?
Ayo Adesanya
Can you do something sexy in a movie?
Yes, I can be very sexy and very romantic.
Can you flaunt your boobs, stuff like that?
It’s part of acting so I can do it. I can play any role. Once you’re an actor, you should be able to play any role
Have your boobs ever helped you in getting a role?
Yes, they have. In one English movie, though the movie is not yet out, they wanted someone that has big boobs and can flaunt it, so they called me. I was called by Laitan Sugar and it was because of my boobs they called me for that job. I played the role of a bad character in the movie
