Daodudavid:guy if u don't want to regret when ur here u better write TOefl and SAT before coming,Troy is one tough school when it comes to English proficiency test and standardize exams..except u have cash to waste,a lot of guys that weren't aware came here and are still in ESL class for more than 1year,imagine the money and time wasted,tuition for ESL is about $4k not to talk of feeding,accommodation and what have u..Just to prove further how Troy university is,they even mandate students after writing and passing these tests to still write another entrance test which comprises of maths,English and general studies..anyway the choice is urs..ur visa is just a phase among a whole lot..Peace |

Fortissimo:This is for y'all that will be patronizing "black market" for purchase of $. 1.Ensure the seller has a registered company name and a physical address.when I was around,I always use a particular one inside Eko hotel v/island. 2.Ensure the $ are stamped and it MUST carry the name of the company of the seller.. 3.If it's ur first time of dealing,u must first pretend that u want to sell $ to the seller,he/she will tell u how much he can buy from u,after which u will tell him/her that u want to buy,the difference between buying and selling is usually 2-3Naira..use ur bargaining strategy to ur advantage.. I wins I could help some of u with some $ but u just have to be physically present in the states for me to transact..All in all,best of luck,just know that the real struggle begins when u get here,the visa is just 1 out of multiple challenges..at some point u will wish u never left ur comfort zone..plan well before coming..Shalom! 7 Likes 1 Share |

lazywriter:As far as I am concerned,there is no Cbn rule(s) that stops the use of $-domicile cards in US,I still used my domicilary account card to pay more than $6k tuition balance this semester with no restrictions except annoying hidden charges..so if any of y'all coming here can load ur domicilary account with $, u will be fine with payments here. Disclaimer: my $ card is domicile with Standard Chartered bank,I don't know about other banks. |

bbdd:i used it 3weeks ago,it is very secure,u have to attach ur international passport or any govt issued ID here(driver livens or state ID), also a selfie of u..it takes about 15mins to be verified after which ur profile status will read "identification verification complete"... U can then start making transfers,u can't send more than $995 per transaction,it will be debited on ur debit card which is attached to ur American account..the good thing about it is that once u send funds,they will send u an email which u will enter ur full name and signature to attest to the fact that ur the one making the transaction,once done,the funds reflects in the recipient's account instantly..its secure if u ask me.. |

Holudarey01:Going by the email,you are already granted a GA,NCAT is a very generous institution with funding during Fall semester. To answer your questions: First accept the offer,check your online application portal to accept or you email the designated Prof.You must be enrolled as a Full time student every semester,I don't know how else to explain this,your minimum course credit each semester should be 9,meaning in Naija context that u must register 3 different 3 unit courses every semester.but some schools only allow GA students to register 6units while any additional course units will be paid by the student.2. you GPA per semester must not fall short of 3.0 out of 4.0 to maintain ur GA position.3.As an International student,u can't work more than 20hrs weekly on Campus.4.You can't work outside the school's Campus or exceed the 20hrs weekly schedule.5.There is always research seminars and other programs which u will be given a prior notice and it's a "Must attend". 6.All these factors will be considered in the next Academic year to evaluate your performance in order to retain u or hire someone else,In this case,the GPA is one of the major factor,some schools also consider what we term "employment appraisal" from your colleagues and immediate boss before considering to retain u...cheers |

Anyiogwu:Once u are in custody of the evaluated transcript,it's no longer deemed "official"...U can always request for a personal copy during your evaluation payment which will be sent to your home address.Once evaluated,u will have to pay about $25 to send an official copy to any Institution...However,for some schools,even after receiving your Evaluated ECE transcript,they still request u send another official transcript from your undergraduate school,speaking about my personal experience with NCAT and Troy univ....My advice is,simply scan a personal copy sent to u and send via e-mail to any school of yours for admission purposes and after you are admitted,you can order an official copy to the school..I hope this helps. |

landuseact:I wouldn't totally agree,for instance,my first POE with naija food was JFK,i went thru secondary examination and cleared,my second experience was this january,Bwi MD to ATL,the border agents trashed all the naija food items i bought from African store in Philly and VA.. |

alabalobor:You'd better be consistent with your infos,I will just single out my take on NCAT since it was my first school before transferring,it is a very expensive school,u can only go with it,if u have tuition waiver or u are financially capable...also be informed that it's a predominantly black school. |

Anyiogwu:logon to www.ece.org,u will see the address there,they have for both for regular mails and courier,it's advisable to use the courier address because it is faster,they also have a credit card payment option now,unlike when i did mine,it was just money order as a means of payment.. 1 Like |

vivyval:Noodles and Maggi Chicken to the best of my knowledge is prohibited,in all just ensure u declare all the food items u have on u when the manifest will be given to u,it's always done when ur enroute Dubai to US.during my time i declared everything and when i got to the POE i was told that it will be subjected to secondary examination which didn't take up to 5mins... |

oganlalasokun:why not just install Uber or lyft app on ur phone and attach ur card to it,once u arrive JFK turn on ur location it will show u how long the closest Uber or lyft cab will come pick u up..if u want to really cut cost,go with lyft,it's cheaper and gives u an option or riding with more than one passenger which automatically cut the cost as well..I use it when am at DMV.. |

oganlalasokun:its not far,once u get cleared after arrival,ask the policemen u will see at the exit,they will give u direction on trains to take..or better still install uber or lyft app,they are way cheaper than patronizing those Pakistanis who from ur accent and body expressions can tell ur a first timer and exploit u..I paid over $80 during my time for a trip that costs not more than $10 according to the policeman I met...cheers 1 Like |
