I think there is nothing wrong with that. Esp when you have said she aint arrogant. That means she still considers your contribution and role just as important and of relevance as would any other couple where the man earns more. You are still you, and that she understands. Her attitude towards you displays her reverence and respect for you. |

the darkest hour lies before dawn. some of us have been through that and worse but here i am still living on. as painful as it may seem now all i can say is breathe hope dear one cause its about the only thing that will sustain your little heart aye. Be strong. You haven't failed, you have only made a mistake and suicide isnt exactly a way out esp if u gots a relationship wit God. Right now, I would say what you need most is Strength from Christ and even when days seem dark jus live them through. And you keep that baby honey cause I pray he/she shall bring you blessings and joy in ways more than one. |
Living with a housemate whom also happens to be a good friend, I woke up at night and found the brother watching me standing a third way in my room. Now I was freaked out because I actually woke up due to the feeling of another presence in the room. He quickly said "Hey June (how he usually greets me). I am looking for an adaptor." An adaptor in the middle of the night? I mean why didnt the bredren ask for it durin the last evenin when we had spent it indoors? Anyway, I just gave it to him. But I am smelling uh uh something was up, and thank dem heavens I woke up. Moving on, |
10 Sep 2009 I rise this morning with the morning wrens, and instead of witnessing an expanse of the same shade as that of the breast of my window visitor, I see gray skies. Gray clouds and even a gray wind. Theoretically speaking, it’s a gray day; but I hesitate not as I have risen this dawn with my nature counterparts, ready to take it on like we have never any other. Life is gray, gray is bright. At least it is not black. I am thankful and so is my little one twittering gloriously and telling me in a well mastered song that our turn to toil the day has come. He is beautiful and he knows I know it. He stares at me and stops his saccharine song. As if he is telling me “Let’s do this, June”. And miraculously, I hear his soft whisper. And so I throw back the thick warm blanket with all my might and agree to his claim. He is magnificent. He is my window partner and he is my role model. He then immediately flies away and my heart sinks almost instantly. But, I rethink and tell myself he has gone to begin his day, I know in my heart he shall return in the evening of the day. And so I am motivated and do the same. I am at work now and thinking of that every day window visitor whom I never get tired of. My heart lights up with fire and a radiance of grace projected to my face every time my mind conjures him. He is so small but yet so big. We coexist almost as kinships. I am living my gray day as he is somewhere out there. And I am looking forward to our meeting once again this evening. Even though short it may be, worth it shall be. |
Remember Jesus said, he that lives by the sword dies by the sword. Its true. Am surprised so far that no one has mentioned anything about being humble. This does not mean you should turn the other cheek. But I long learnt that in marriage, a substantial amount of the time, the woman has to just keep silent. And i mean it literally. When he shouts, dont shout back. When he insults dont insult back. It is very difficult to acquire this trait but practice and patience and long suffering are major contributing factors. Now, remember darling, you have a baby. The last thing any mother would want is have her children grow up in a violent and unrespectable environment. Whatever you do for now, make sure it entails the baby's interest okay. Your child is a living soul and it needs just as much consideration as your self. As for your husband, I pray he will calm down and return to his senses. DO NOT, and i repeat, DO NOT ever fight back a man. They are strong, honey. And DO NOT let yourself be beat by anyone. He has no right whatsoever to touch you. Talk to someone you trust because this, cause this thing may depress you and eat at your heart. But most importantly, be humble and ask him to return so you can work things out. You both must do this because neither of you is married to him/herself. Take the blame if you have to (for the sake of peace) and trust me, doing that will be like placing a heap of burning coal on his head. It always works. And he will just be touched by how much grace your heart can accomodate. And ultimately, do not hesitate to forgive him. Always forgive, no matter how much it hurts because its for you very own self and not for him. You get me dear? Be strong, and be wise. |
