Good morning everyone, I want to appreciate everyone for your contributions on this page. I was a silent reader, I started following this page from the beginning and I learnt so much from here, this is the reason I came back to make my own contribution.

I had my interview section for B1B2 yesterday in Abuja with a virgin passport, never traveled, not even to Ghana and I was issued a Visa. I want to encourage those with a virgin passport to never give up.
I did everything MYSELF, from filling my DS-160, paying the Visa fee and booking for an appointment, never involved any agent.

My transcript below ;
When we got to the open space before the interview room, a Nigerian lady checked our passports, got to me and this happened.

Lady: Can I have your passport ?
Me: I gave it to her, she opened it.
Lady: Can I have your old passport?
Me: *confused* I don’t have it here, I didn’t know I was supposed to come with it.
Lady: Got very angry and said: how do I know your information is not fake, if you had filled your form yourself, you would have known you were supposed to come with your old passport, you are not ready for this interview.
Me1st timer who only got her information from nairaland) people of God, I started sweating and told her I filled the form myself and I am ready, I am sorry.
Lady: It is not about being sorry, i am doing my job, did you travel with it?
Me: No I didn’t.
Lady : how am I sure you are telling the truth, you are not ready and she went to the next person.
I started begging my heart not to leave my body, I calmed down and went for the interview.

VO: Can i have your passport ?
Me: Yes please, here, thank you.
VO: Have you been to the US before?
Me: No, I haven’t (who dash me, me wey carry virgin passport come meet you)
VO: Why do you want to visit the US?
Me: I intend to visit the US for a conference on ……
VO: With all her attention on me , Where do you work?
Menote: i work in a place related to what the conference is about)( I had all my attention to her also, very pretty white lady �.) I work with ……….,,,,,,. and we are …………, we do …………,,,,
VO: (attention still on me.) You sound like a coordinator.(this was what I filled in my form)
Me: Yes please I am in charge of ……….,,,…,,… zone that covers…………..states.
VO: How long have you been working?
Me: I have been working with my office for over 13yrs.
VO: Are you the only one going for this conference?
Me: Yes I am, others are going to UK for another related conference.
VO: (took her attention back to her computer and started typing) have you attended this type of conference before?
Me: Yes, but here in Nigeria.
VO: (after few seconds of typing, with her attention on me again) Are you married?
Me: Yes, I am married with…….,,…number of kids.
VO: (She gave me a smile) with …….kids? (Reached out to the white paper on her left, slides it through the window and said) Your application looks good, you will pick your visa in 3days.
Me very excited) Thank you so much, I appreciate you ( with my hands together like, namaste hand �)
VO: Thank you too, bye.
She didn’t asked me for anything document, so I didn’t even open my bulky folder I went with.

So many students (F1) were given, a lot of people were denied also, especially people going for visiting.
I also noticed a lot of people going for conference were also given.
So, thank you again, may God grant us all our heart desire.

Doubtful anyone would be hosting an in-person conference by July. You should cross-check before spending money on the application just in case.

What if there is actually an in-person conference with a field trip, they are also ready to send an invitation letter. Please advise.

'll advice you do a fresh profile. As for the conference, i'll advice you look for another reason to travel.... all events globally have gone virtual right now and im sure this your conference is also virtual. Your first time of travelling should have a very good reason for travel .... my own thoughts...

Thank you for your response, i appreciate your advice and i gave a thought to it too but there is one day field trip so i felt that will be a good reason for not going virtual, your advise will be appreciated.

While I was creating a profile to enable me book an appointment, I wrongly pick Egypt as country of application, please how do I correct it to Nigeria? I need your help.

No it’s not. The process of raising layers is quite lengthy because they tend to stay around a lot longer than Broilers. They’re to be in the brooder for 6weeks. The first three weeks, they’re to be fed Superstarter mash, the following 3weeks; chick mash. From then on, they’re to be fed grower mash till they commence lay; once their egg production hits 5-10%, you gradually switch to layer mash this is not to say that antibiotics and vaccination programs would be jettisoned. The vaccination schedule should be followed religiously. The target weight for layers to commence lay is 1.5kg, however, some birds lay between 1.35-1.45kg but the standard weight is 1.5kg. Just as for Broilers, lighting is also very important for layers. As time goes on, you’ll understand all these as this is just a summary of what to expect.

This is really amazing Oga Turks, you and Oga Emmaachille are so wonderful, please my layers broader will be ready before weekend. I will appreciate your help with the vaccination process, names of drugs and when & how to administer it. I hope I am not being annoying with my questions.

Why not stay with 100? It won’t be profitable to start with 40 not 50 birds in my opinion. It’s good to start small but with layers, it’s a game of numbers.

Five to Seven days recommended.
Give ten litres averagely per day for every 50 broilers. After it's finished, give fresh water for that day.

You have been so helpful, please don't be tired of me. i uploaded a picture of the birds, each section has 34 birds, 102 in total, so am i supposed to double the combination because you said for every "50 broilers".

crushed 1 ginger/1 garlic/2 spoonful honey combination in 10 litres water

Goodevening all, I presently have 100 birds that are 34days old, I am a learner though, I started last year with 40birds. The birds are doing very well but I noticed slight cough, I use Chikun feed. Please i want to know if I should still been covering their cage at night with trampoline, I stay in Abuja and the whether is hot. Please help me okay.

I started boiler farm in August, I hadn't any knowledge not even the name of the drugs or the feeds, but I was able to roll out the 40 birds at 10 weeks no one mortality. I was so excited, so I got another batch of 62birds from local market here in Abuja but I wasn't lucky this time they are 9weeks now and I lost 19 of them. I saw my mistakes from your contributions, thank you guys most especially @EMMAACHILE.
